Dr. David A. Busic was elected general superintendent in the
Church of the Nazarene at the 28th General Assembly held in
Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, in June 2013. At the time of his
election, he had been president of Nazarene Theological Seminary
since 2011.
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, David was ordained in 1991
by Dr. John A. Knight. After being an associate pastor in
Oklahoma and Kansas, he served as senior pastor for three Churches of the Nazarene: Vineyard
Community Church (Livermore, California), Central Church (Lenexa, Kansas), and First Church
(Bethany, Oklahoma). During his tenure at Bethany First, Dr. Busic helped initiate and establish
the Swaziland Partnership in 2007 to help reduce the HIV/AIDS rate and assist vulnerable
children in Swaziland, Africa.
Dr. Busic received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Nazarene University in 1988 and a
Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1993. Southern Nazarene
University conferred a Doctor of Divinity degree upon him in 2010. He is currently pursuing
doctoral studies in theology and culture at Fuller Theological Seminary.
He has a distinguished tradition of service to the denomination. He has been a member of the
General Board of the Church of the Nazarene, during which time he was also elected president of
the USA National Board. From 2005 to 2013 he was a member of the Board of General
Superintendents’ Thought Partners, a think tank for critical issues facing the church.
Busic was co-editor for Preacher’s Magazine from 2000 to 2007. He has also published
numerous articles and co-authored two books (A Pastor’s Guide to Effective
Preaching and Sharing My Faith). He most recently authored Perfectly Imperfect: Character
Sketches from the Old Testament, and Perfectly Imperfect, Character Sketches from the New
Testament. His preaching is widely respected throughout the church, making him a sought-after
speaker and leadership advisor.
Dr. Busic and his wife, Christi, live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They have three grown
children and four grandchildren.

Nací en la ciudad de Monterrey, México, el 13 de Septiembre de 1953, y
mis primeros años los viví en el Instituto Bíblico del Distrito Norte de
México, donde mi padre, el Rev. Francisco Herrera, era el director.
A los 18 años de edad ingresé a la universidad de Bethany, ahora Southern
Nazarene University. Gradué con concentraciones en biología, química y
Teología. Continué mis estudios en Microbiología en la Universidad de
Texas en San Antonio (UTSA).

En 1977, Dios me dio la mujer que ha respaldado mi ministerio por 38 años, Aurora, el amor de mi vida.
Trabajé en experimentación científica desde 1979 hasta mi jubilación en el año 2007 continué trabajando
parte del tiempo hasta el año 2013, cuando Dios me llamó a la Superintendencia del Distrito Latino Texas
Oklahoma.
Trabajando en ‘The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, (UTHSCSA),’ Dios me
llamó a ser líder juvenil, y leyendo el libro misionero “SONS OF AFRICA, Stories from the life of Elmer
Schmelzenbach,” Dios me recordó que me estaba llamando al ministerio. Acepté su llamado en 1988, y
principié pastoreando la Iglesia de Las Palmas, donde estuve por 26 años.
Dios nos ha bendecido con tres hermosos hijos, que siempre han respaldado mi ministerio. Ruskin
casado con Marie, tienen dos preciosos niños, Talin, dos años de edad e Isla, 3 meses. Denia, casada con
Russ Burkhard, tienen una linda bebe de un año, Deia. Y Astrid April, casada con Robert Sierra, en la
espera de su bebe que nacerá en Junio, 2016.
En los 26 años de ministerio en la iglesia Las Palmas, Dios me dio el privilegio, y bendición de ver
nuestra iglesia crecer en todos los aspectos.
Dios me ha dado el privilegio de ministrar en diferentes lugares, en California, Nuevo México, Colorado,
Georgia, Monterrey, La Huasteca Potosina, Guadalajara. He trabajado en la iglesia Global como miembro
del Concilio General de Jóvenes; y he sido intérprete de Juntas Generales, Convenciones y Asamblea
General ya por 20 años.
Amo a mi Señor y mi único deseo es servirle.
Oramos y deseamos ser usados por Dios en este ministerio.

REV. CALEB HERRERA
Biographical sketch
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico on September 13, 1953. I lived my early days at the Bible school, that
my father led.
I went to Bethany Nazarene College, now Southern Nazarene University, in 1972, and graduated in 1976
with a B. S. in Biology, and minors in Chemistry and Religion.
I continued my education at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
In 1977, God gave the woman who has helped me in the ministry, Aurora, the love of my life.
I worked in Microbiology Research from 1979 until my retirement in 2007, and part-time until 2013,
when God called me to the Superintendency of the Texas Oklahoma Latin District.
While working at ‘University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA),’ God called
me to be District NYI president, and while reading “SONS OF AFRICA, Stories from the life of Elmer
Schmelzenbach,” God called me to the ministry.
I accepted God’s calling in 1988, and begun as the Pastor of Las Palmas Church of the Nazarene, where I
pastored for 26 years.
God has blessed us with three beautiful children who have helped us in the ministry. Ruskin, married to
Marie, have two beautiful children, Talin, two years old, and Isla, three months old. Denia, married to
Russ Burkhard, they have a beautiful one year old, Deia. And Astrid April, married to Robert Sierra,
waiting for their first baby boy to be born in June 2016.
In the 26 years of ministry at Las Palmas Church, God gave the blessing of seeing my church grow in all
aspects.
With God’s help I have ministered in California, New Mexico, Colorado, Georgia, Monterrey, Huasteca
Potosina, and Guadalajara. I have also worked for the Global church as a member of the General NYI
Council from 1985 until 1989. I have been Spanish interpreter for General Conventions and General
Assembly since 1993.
I love my Lord and want to serve Him.
I pray for God to use me in this ministry.

El hermano Caleb Herrera Superintendente del Distrito dio lectura a su reporte. También dio
lista de la junta consultora. Recibieron el reporte con aceptación, todos dijeron Amen.
El hermano Busic y esposa oraron por Rev. Caleb y Aurora Herrera, se hizó invitación a todos
los pastores, la oración fue dirigida por el Hno. Dimas.
Hermano Ayala dio lectura de la Cedula del distrito de la Junta Consultora 2016.
Se hizo la moción para que la cedula fuera aceptada y Yvonne Chávez la secundo, todos de

El hermano Palacios propuso que se agregara a la nomina de Junta Consultora Advisory Board

Meta de SNU, es hacer discípulos semejantes a Cristo, necesitamos poner atención a la división
que hay. Tenemos una meta pero hay muchas cosas que nos detienen para llegar a una meta.
El Hno. David Busic propuso que se pusieran las alarmas a las 10:45am todos los días para orar
por 1 minuto por la Universidad SNU el cual fue aceptado.
Reporte de pastores. Lo sobresaliente que paso en su Iglesia se da a conocer de algunos de ellos
El Dr. Rev. Joe Dimas: En Octubre se presentó un niño, y gracias a esto hubo mas de 60
personas que no se congregaban a la Iglesia y hoy lo están haciendo, gracias a esto ha sido una
gran bendición porque muchas de estas personas continúan viniendo a la Iglesia.
Evelio Monestina: comenzaron células en los hogares, adquirieron 4 nuevo miembros
Dide Nuno: ganaron 2 almas
Manuel Velasquez : Enviaron todos los artículos de fe, terminaron la renovación de la Iglesia
Rogelio López: Comenzaron a recoger a niños de las casas móviles, más o menos como 35 niños
para llevarlos a la Iglesia

Palacios hizo la moción para aceptar el reporte financiero (reporte de tesorería Juanita Diaz

Rev. Víctor Trujillo: Plantador de Iglesias trabaja en abrir nuevas obras, y usa “La Barca” como
artículo de evangelismo
Rev. Carlos Mendoza: Arreglaron por fuera de la Iglesia, y repararon la estructura.
Rev. Carlos Valle: 2 Nuevos convertidos, 13 nuevo miembros
Rev. Juan López: 4 Familias son las que asisten , 10 miembros fieles
Rev. José Palacios: Trabajaron en un programa de “después de escuela” y gracias a ello 60
personas continúan congregándose.
Rev. José Ayala: Pusieron aire acondicionado, ganaron 1 familia

Rev. Daniel Moreno: poco a poco han estado llegando personas a la Iglesia, 1 semana 11
personas, 2nda semana 13 personas, y 3ra semana 33 personas.
Pastor Mario Sánchez: Empezaron un programa para personas que son “Bipolars> Bautizaron a
13 personas, fue sanado de un tumor en la próstata.
Pastor Jimmy Ramos: Nunca ha estado en Estados Unidos y fue introducido a la Asamblea.
También se presento al Pastor Daniel Carrillo y su Esposa Carolina que están en la Iglesia
Central de San Antonio, TX.
Pastor Antonio Alvarado: Tiene estudios bíblicos 4 personas asisten. Una hermana testigo de
Jehová se convirtió y ahora cree en la Santa Trinidad
MOCION. Para poder editar en las minutas, se secundó y todos estuvieron de acuerdo se dijo que
la Asamblea terminaría con el servicio de Ordenación de Yvonne Chávez y Xavier DeHoyos. Se
terminó la sesión de negocios a las 11:59 AM

A. INFORME DEL SUPERINTENDENTE DE DISTRITO 2015-2016
ABRIL 2016
Estimado Superintendente General, Dr. David Busic, delegados y amigos,
Dr. David Busic y distinguida esposa, Christi, bienvenidos al Distrito Latino Texas
Oklahoma.
En Abril de 1966, el Dr. Everette D. Howard, superintendente de nuestro distrito, dijo: “El futuro
es brillante porque nuestro Cristo resucitado nos está guiando y dirigiendo nuestros pasos. Dios
no ha hecho provisión para fracasos, pero sí completa victoria sobre las asignaciones que El nos
ha dado… Cada pastor debe considerar la meta de ganar al menos 12 miembros por año. No hay
limite a las posibilidades por medio de la fe en Dios.”
50 años después de estas palabras y 70 años después de la organización de este distrito,
me presento ante ustedes para informarles de lo que Dios ha hecho entre nosotros en los últimos
12 meses.
Nuestra historia principia en la plaza frente al hospital Santa Rosa, en el centro de San Antonio,
Texas, donde el Distrito de Los Ángeles, California, puso una carpa y trajo el evangelio a Elena
Rosales en 1938.
Elena Rosales y su esposo Reynaldo, bajo el patrocinio del Dr. Davis, principiaron la primer
misión hispana nazarena en la calle Colima y Brazos, que ahora es Primera Iglesia del Nazareno
en San Antonio, Texas, en la calle Pérez. Esta primera misión de San Antonio, Texas, dio sus
primeros informes en Santa Mónica en 1941, y en Los Ángeles, California, en el año 1942. En
1943 se formó el distrito Monterrey-San Antonio hasta 1946, cuando nació el Distrito Texano.
Luego en 1964, el nombre cambió a Distrito Central Latinoamericano, y finalmente Distrito
Latino Texas Oklahoma en el año 2001.
El año eclesiástico 2015-2016 principió con las juntas anuales, y nuestra convención de JNI en
Houston. Esta convención marcó la primera vez que una convención de distrito se llevara a cabo
en Houston. Felicitamos a la iglesia local y a su Pastor Rev. Rogelio López por la fineza con que
nos trataron.
Con optimismo y gran expectación les comparto que hay nueva luz de esperanza en nuestro
distrito después de haber trabajado en nuestro ‘Guía de Estrategia de Crecimiento.’
Este Trabajo se hizo por el Comité de Estrategia del Distrito, compuesto por el Comité
Consultivo del Distrito: Junta Consultora, Rev. Rogelio López, Rev. Joe Dimas, Laicos Adán
Villanueva, Blanca Córdova, Fructuoso García; secretario de Distrito, Rev. José Ayala;
presidentes de departamentos, Escuela Dominical y Discipulado, Rachel Maldonado; Misiones
Nazarenas Internacionales, Juanita Díaz; Juventud Nazarena Internacional, Astrid Sierra;
representantes del cuerpo educacional, Rev. Evelio Monestina, Rev. Ubaldo Salazar; y laico ad

hoc Amado Sosa; con la intervención del Dr. Gustavo Crocker, Superintendente General, como
consultor. Como resultado de este trabajo obtuvimos,
NUESTRA VISIÓN: Una iglesia unida, renovada que capacita y promueve la Santidad por
medio de un compromiso con Cristo y Su iglesia.
NUESTRA MISIÓN: Hacer discípulos semejantes a Cristo entre la población hispana De
Texas y Oklahoma.
NUESTROS VALORES: UNIDAD, RENOVACIÓN, DOCTRINA, CAPACITACIÓN, y
COMPROMISO.
Y NUESTRAS ESTRATEGIAS:
Estrategia #1, Promover la Unidad de la Familia Nazarena en el distrito
Estrategia #2, Facilitar la Renovación Pastoral y Espiritual en el distrito
Estrategia #3, Fomentar la Santidad como Doctrina y Practica de la Iglesia
Estrategia #4, Capacitar y Equipar a la Iglesia para la Misión
Estrategia #5, Fomentar el Compromiso y la Mayordomía en la Iglesia
Hemos principiado a implementar estas estrategias de trabajo en las zonas de San Antonio y el
Valle, y muy pronto nos daremos a la tarea de implementarlas en el resto del distrito, y ayudar a
las iglesias locales a contextualizarlas.
Junto con la implementación de estrategias de crecimiento tenemos la capacitación de nuevos
líderes. A finales de Agosto tuvimos nuestra Iniciativa de Desarrollo de Liderazgo en el distrito
TOLD de nuevo con el Dr. Gustavo Crocker. La concentración fue en cómo desarrollar mentoría
y la Capacitación de Lideres.
Otra herramienta que estamos utilizando es Dynamic Church Planting International, DCPI.
Tuvimos nuestro primer entrenamiento en Brownwood, Texas, con nueve estudiantes. Muy
pronto llevaremos esta herramienta a todo el distrito.
Armando Valladares, de la iglesia de Mercedes, formó parte de un equipo de DCPI que plantaron
dos iglesias nuevas en Puebla, México.
Agradezco al Rev. Jay Height, director de Ministerios de Compasión en la Región USA/Canadá,
por tomar interés en nosotros como distrito. El nos ha ayudado financieramente para principiar
ministerios de compasión en el distrito. También hizo posible mi visita a Indianapolis, a visitar
Shepherd Community Center, y ver como éste centro de compasión está ‘Quebrando el ciclo de
pobreza,’ y ofreciendo a Cristo a la comunidad. Esto ha abierto las puertas para que conforme
haya tiempo estar mandando a los nuevos pastores a pasar un par de semanas en Shepherd
Community Center para aprender de ellos.
Otra forma en que ellos han demostrado su interés en nosotros es que somos un lugar a donde
Youth In Mission, parte de Ministerios de Compasión, bajo el liderazgo de Kenny Wade, estarán
trabajando en nuestro distrito.
Escuchando la respuesta de Popovich, coach de los Spurs de San Antonio, a la pregunta de cuál
es el secreto de la cohesividad que existe en su equipo, el coach contestó, “A synergy has to form
between the owner, whoever his president is, whoever the GM is, whoever the coach is,” ‘Una
sinergia se debe de formar entre quien sea el dueño, quien sea el presidente, quien sea el manager

general, y quien sea el entrenador.’ Esto me puso a pensar en la necesidad de que, sabiendo que
Dios es el dueño, haya más unidad y mas deseo de trabajar juntos todas las iglesias, todos los
pastores, todas las congregaciones, todos los departamentos; junto con nuestros líderes de
campo, junto con nuestra universidad, junto con nuestros líderes regionales, y junto con nuestros
líderes globales. Nos estamos proponiendo ser una parte integral del trabajo de la Iglesia Global
y participar en una forma dinámica en todos los niveles.
Buscando ayudar a nuestro pueblo a captar esta visión, visité 23 de nuestras iglesias, platicando
con los líderes, capacitándolos, y predicando en sus congregaciones. La recepción ha sido muy
positiva y agradezco la aceptación con la que he sido recibido y por sus muestras de aprecio.
La participación del Dr. Corey Jones, pastor de la iglesia Crossroads en Fort Worth, en nuestro
Retiro de Lideres el año pasado, ha venido a tener un impacto en la vida de oración del distrito.
Varias de nuestras iglesias están teniendo servicios semanales solamente de oración ‘gimiendo al
Señor’ y buscando que El diga, ‘Aquí Estoy.’ Estamos viendo milagros como el de la Primera
Iglesia en San Antonio, donde más de 30 personas nuevas han llegado tan solo porque el pastor,
Dr. Joe Dimas, hizo la decisión de bautizar a un bebé de una familia que no era de la iglesia. O
como el milagro en Corpus Christi Primera donde un drogadicto de heroína y cocaína fue
rescatado milagrosamente por Dios, el Hno. Cruz Suarez. A Dios sea toda la Gloria.
En otras actividades, le doy gracias a Dios formar parte del Cuerpo Hispano de USA/Canadá
que trabaja junto con el Dr. Roberto Hodgson. En esta capacidad ayudé en la organización del
Congreso Nacional Hispano que tendrá lugar en La Universidad Nazarena del Sur.
También estoy agradecido con Dios por la oportunidad que me dieron nuestros hermanos
hispanos del Distrito de West Texas, por invitarme a ser el orador de su campamento hispano
familiar 4 al 6 de Junio, 2015. Fue esta visita la que hace posible que regresemos al Campamento
Arrowhead, en Glenn Rose, Texas.
EDUCACIÓN Y CUERPO MINISTERIAL
Cuando el Dr. Everette Howard estaba retando a sus pastores en 1966, estaba dando Licencia de
Distrito por primera vez a un jovencito de Lamesa, Texas, estudiante del Seminario Nazareno
Hispanoamericano. En esta Asamblea, el Dr. Joe Dimas, cumple 50 años de ministerio

El Instituto Nazareno de Educación Ministerial, INEM, principió en el año 2007, como resultado
del 50 aniversario de la Iglesia Las Palmas con el respaldo del Dr. José Rodríguez, y Rev. Mario
Cintrón. En el año 2008, fue reconocido por nuestro distrito. Hoy, en éste día, veremos a dos de
los primeros estudiantes recibir las ordenes del presbiterio, los pastores Yvonne Chávez, y
Xavier de Hoyos.
Ahora, bajo la dirección del Rev. Evelio Monestina y Rev. Ubaldo Salazar, INEM está
ofreciendo más cursos y con más accesibilidad, pues también la tenemos electrónicamente,
INEM-on-line, gracias Hno. Salazar; y el buen funcionamiento de INEM en el Valle, gracias
Rev. José I. Palacios.
INEM continua ofreciendo las ‘Conferencias Dr. José Rodríguez,’ en honor a este distinguido
siervo de Dios, quien será reconocido en la Conferencia Nacional Hispana, en Junio 2016.

También continuamos trabajando con El Centro de Educación Ministerial Peniel, ENTE, y
Seminario Teológico Nazareno en Kansas City, donde dos de nuestros pastores, Rev. Rogelio
López, y Rev. Ubaldo Salazar, están cursando estudios doctorales.
En el presente contamos con 23 Presbíteros activos, 4 jubilados, 2 jubilados con asignación.
Tenemos 18 Ministros Licenciados, 5 de ellos recibiendo su primer licencia en esta asamblea.
Dos de los nuevos recipientes son el Pastor Rubén y su esposa Coral Rubio, que están ayudando
con lo que será una nueva misión en Harlingen bajo la dirección del Rev. Carlos Valle.
También vemos con alegría, bendición y gran entusiasmo, que en estos últimos días han llegado
dos pastores nuevos. Rev. Daniel Carrillo y su esposa Carolina, procedentes de Canadá, vienen a
tomar el pastorado de la Iglesia San Antonio Central; y el Pastor Erasmo Ramos y su esposa
Cinthya, procedentes de Honduras, vienen a tomar el pastorado de la Iglesia Primera de Laredo.
Estos dos pastores, y los nuevos recipientes de Licencias de distrito, son el retoño que estamos
principiando a ver traer vida y sangre nueva a un distrito de 70 años de edad.
Un evento sobresaliente fue el Retiro de Pastores con el Dr. Eugenio Duarte. Sus mensajes
fueron de gran inspiración y de desafío a nuestros ministerios. Casi todos los pastores estuvieron
presentes junto con sus conyugues. En algunos casos, pastores trajeron a ‘sus Timoteos.’ Que
bendición.
Es mi oración que nuestros pastores continúen preparándose continuamente. James Russom, de
NBC, nos recordó que Rick Warren dijo, "Cuando dejas de aprender, dejas de ser líder." Y
obviamente no queremos que esto llegue a suceder.
Con la ayuda de Dios hice nueve Revisiones relación Iglesia/Pastor. Dos pastores tomaron
sabático, Rev. Raúl Alfonso, y Rev. José Cárdenas. La posibilidad de tener un tiempo sabático
fue ofrecida como alternativa a todos los pastores que podrían beneficiarse de ello. Varios de
ellos lo están pensando.
En otras noticias, el Rev. Guadalupe Moreno, tuvo una cirugía, y agradecemos a Dios que lo
haya sanado una vez más. Lamentamos el fallecimiento del papá del Rev. José Luis Gómez; y
el del hermano del Rev. Mario Sánchez.
El Dr. Accel Ruiz dejó el pastorado de la iglesia de Las Palmas por razón de salud. Gracias a
Dios que últimamente escuchamos que Dios ha hecho el milagro de sanidad divina en su cuerpo.
PROPIEDADES Y EDIFICIOS
El distrito con la ayuda de la iglesia global pudo dar Ayuda financiera a la Iglesia de Harlingen
para hacer mejoras al edificio de su misión en la calle Knox.
Ayuda para la instalación de Aire Central en el Anexo de San Benito
Ayuda a la Iglesia de Donna, Texas para el arreglo del techo
Ayuda a la Iglesia de SA Emmanuel, para el arreglo del techo
Ayuda a la Iglesia de Oklahoma City Segunda para la construcción de su estacionamiento
Ayuda a la Iglesia de Las Palmas para la remodelación de la Casa Pastoral para ser usada como
Salón de clases por el Instituto Nazareno de Estudios Ministeriales, INEM
Ayuda a la Iglesia de Casa de Esperanza en Odessa, para la compostura del baño de la casa
pastoral
Ayuda a la Iglesia Central para arreglar el piso de la casa pastoral

La mayor parte del dinero para ayudar a estas iglesias vino de Cajas de Alabastro. Muchas
gracias, Cajas de Alabastro y Dr. Robert Broadbooks.
También, el trabajo ha continuado en la remodelación de la casa distrital. Damos gracias a Dios y
al Hno. Iván Martínez por su trabajo de amor.
Logramos la venta de la propiedad en Lamesa, Texas. Desafortunadamente no teníamos forma
de empezar el ministerio en este lugar y no nos quedó otra alternativa más que vender la
propiedad.

ESCUELA DOMINICAL
Muchas gracias Hna. Liz Maldonado por el trabajo de Escuela Dominical y Discipulado. Dios
bendijo este departamento con un hermoso campamento de niños con una asistencia de más de
100, gracias Yvonne Chávez. Un Retiro de Mujeres con un total de 71 mujeres, gracias Aurora
Herrera. Dos bendecidos retiros de parejas, gracias Hnos. Raúl y Lidia Alfonso; gracias Hnos.
Ángel y Rosa Espinoza.
MISIONES NAZARENAS INTERNACIONALES
Uno de los rayos de esperanza en el distrito es el programa ‘Amor en Acción,’ de MNI. Gracias a
sus ofrendas de Amor en Acción, ofrendas de ‘Combustible,’ y envolvimiento personal, se logró
poner piso nuevo al salón de compañerismo de Mercedes, pintarse la casa pastoral de
Brownsville, y poner aire acondicionado ‘central’ en el salón de compañerismo de San Benito.
Participaron las iglesias de Jesucristo, Príncipe de Paz, San Benito, Living Water, Donna,
Mercedes, SA Las Palmas, SA La Cruz, y Plainview, Texas. Es éste tipo de envolvimiento que
va a ayudar a renovar a nuestro distrito tanto físico como espiritualmente.
Felicitamos a las iglesias de Mercedes, SA Primera, SA Sur Flores, y Donna, por haber
sobrepasado el 100% de su contribución al Fondo de Evangelismo Mundial, FEM.

JUVENTUD NAZARENA INTERNACIONAL
Muchas gracias Astrid Sierra por tu trabajo entre la juventud. Nuestro distrito fue bien
representado en Youth Extravaganza. También tuvieron un hermoso campamento con una
asistencia de más de 100, a Dios le damos gracias. Tu departamento demostró un buen manejo
financiero de tal manera que estarán pagando el hotel de los jóvenes que vengan a Youth
Extravaganza y el registro de los líderes que asistieron a ‘Cumbre USA,’ el congreso de
capacitación de jóvenes hispanos más grande del mundo.
HISPANOS DE SEGUNDA GENERACION
El Dr. Roberto Hodgson convocó a una reunión especial en Houston en el mes de Enero, a su
servidor junto con el Dr. Orlando Serrano y el Dr. Alberto Wang, Superintendentes de Distrito,
para estudiar las posibles formas en la que nuestro pueblo hispano pueda emprender el reto de
plantar iglesias de Segunda Generación; en otras palabras, iglesias hispanas de habla inglesa.
Dos jóvenes pastores de nuestro distrito también participaron de esta mesa redonda, Xavier de
Hoyos de Las Palmas, y Santiago Prado, pastor de Living Water Church of the Nazarene in

Mercedes, Texas.
Poner atención a los jóvenes hispanos de segunda generación es un paso prometedor para nuestro
ministerio.

FINANZAS
El total de presupuestos de distrito pagados fue de $81,763. Hace dos años nos propusimos llegar
a pagar $133,000 en presupuestos para poder tener un superintendente de tiempo completo. Este
año vamos a hacer más conciencia para con sus responsabilidades financieras con el distrito,
pues no es posible funcionar como distrito autosuficiente con estas entradas.
Agradezco el fino trabajo que ha desempeñado la Hna. Jessica Orozco.

En el pago de Pensiones y Beneficios, ustedes pagaron un total de $16,526. Nuestros pastores
jubilados recibieron un total de $56,303. Pensiones y Beneficios dieron un subsidio de $39,777.
Seamos fieles al pago del presupuesto de Pensiones y Beneficios.
Otros aspectos de finanzas los daremos verbalmente puesto que no todos los informes han sido
hechos al hacer este informe.
CONCLUSION
El año terminó con un retiro muy especial del 6 al 8 de Febrero. Aurora y yo pasamos unos días
hermosos en Tucson, Arizona, en el retiro de superintendentes. El lema “Proclamando SU gloria
en Gracia y Verdad,” vino a darnos nuevo aliento y esperanza. En especial nos bendijo el sermón
“Presencia fiel” por el Dr. David Busic, no porque esté aquí. La Palabra de Dios en Colosenses
4:6, “Sea vuestra palabra siempre con gracia, sazonada con sal;” y 1 Pedro 3:15, “Presentar
defensa con mansedumbre y reverencia,” ha venido a transformar mis relaciones con los demás,
especialmente con los de afuera. Aprendí que como cristiano no es mi meta estar correcto, sino
hacer la diferencia, ‘LLENO DE GRACIA, sazonado con sal.’
Termino con el principio del Informe del año entrante, pues es difícil esperar un año para
compartir la adición de sangre nueva al distrito. Entre nosotros se encuentran el Pastor de la
Iglesia San Antonio Central, Daniel Carrillo y Carolina, su esposa; y el Pastor de la Iglesia
Primera de Laredo, Erasmo Jimmy Ramos y su esposa Cinthya. Dos parejas jóvenes nuevas
instalados en sus respectivas iglesias el 20 y 27 de Marzo, 2016, en los últimos 15 días.
Agradezco el trabajo de todos ustedes que se han esforzado en ir hacia adelante. Agradezco el
trabajo de todos los líderes de distrito. Agradezco el trabajo de todos los pastores. Agradezco el
trabajo de todos los laicos. Agradezco el respaldo de mi familia, mi Güerita, mis tres hijos, sus
conyugues, y de mis 3.7 nietos, Talin, Isla, Deia, y ¿?
“Sobre mi guarda estaré, y sobre la fortaleza afirmaré el pie, y velaré para ver lo que se me dirá,

The following is the report from district advisory board’s secretary:

Board met 4 times throughout the year and dealt with urgent matters via email when necessary.
Reviewed and discussed treasury reports submitted by Treasurer Jessica Orozco.
Minutes were read and reviewed at each meeting.
Approval of continued repair work at district house (Jeannette St). DS updated board as to continued improvements.
Board approved Jessica Orozco as Treasurer and Adan Villanueva as Advisory Board Secretary.
Approval of assistance from District treasury to cover some expenses at Couples Retreat at Corpus Christi. Suggestion
to look into camp like environment to alleviate price issues.
DS updates immigration status for Jimmy Ramos (Laredo church) and Daniel Carrillo (SA Central).
Reviewed amount and time of financial assistance to New Starts or Pastors – motion passes by majority vote to give 6
month grace period to pastors we are currently assisting (exception: Rev Usvaldo Salazar). The following time limit
specifications were approved: 4 year maximum of financial assistance / $100 per week – first year / $75 per week –
second year / $50 per week – third year / $25 per week – fourth year - Church by church basis / case by case basis.
Leaders retreat cancelled to allow for participation in Hispanic Regional Congress USA/Canada in Bethany, OK – June
15, 16, 17 (2016). TOLD will have EXHIBITION/PARTICIPATION in this congress.
DS asks board to bring ideas for 70th Anniversary for our district.
Reviewed Vision and Mission statements – handouts were given.
Adan Flores voluntarily resigns TOLD special ministry credentials. Resignation is accepted unanimously by board –
effective August 20, 2015.
Rev Victor Trujillo asks by letter to DS his desire to be Evangelist for the district. Board discusses and concludes this
is issue for Credentials board and assembly. Advisory Board secretary will write letter to inform.
$1,000 from Pro Const Fund approved for Rev Carlos Valle for repair work for Harlingen Mission property. Rev Valle
had sent letters to most of the district churches asking for assistance. Pastors are discouraged from doing this and
instead send request to District for review
Discussed issue of pastor for Kingsville – Bro Naranjo & wife are currently assisting. Church has been given a list of
10 licensed ministers that can be used for assisting with preaching. Several candidates have rejected the offer to pastor
in Kingsville.
Only 15 pastors have turned in VISION 20/20 cards. For those that have not, DS doubles their number in pastoral
reports and that they will start 1 new church. This was done since necessary reports had to be turned in by district.
Dr Accel Ruiz turns in his immediate resignation due to health issues and Lic. Minister Dulce Villanueva will serve as
interim pastor for SA Las Palmas church.
Interview with Rev Mario Sanchez is conducted to clear issues with years of service.
DS refers to emails sent to Pastors about health care program offered by General Church.
DS gives review of new ruling by the board of Gen Superintendents regarding Assistant Pastors. In general, due to
legal issues, General Church is being careful whom to call pastor.
Board approves monetary assistance to begin immigration process for Eddie Jimenez and family (Monterrey Mexico).
Board approves district nominating committee.
Approval of Xavier DeHoyos (SA Las Palmas) and Yvonne Chavez (SA Primera) for ordination at 2016 Assembly.
Fort Worth Pastor Rev Cardenas has asked for leave of absence due to family issues. Church families will assist in
taking care of the church in his absence.
Pastoral House for SA Central has Mario Sanchez as owner. DS and Fructuoso Garcia (SA Central) will be working on
fixing this.
$1,500 approved for repair for pastoral house at SA Central.
Rev Jose Palacios has requested that 2017 Conventions and Assemblies that were originally going to be held in
Mercedes be moved to 2018. Conventions for 2017 will be in San Antonio. Location will be formally announced
soon.

Board approves to cover travel expenses, lodging, meals, and love offering for Mrs. Cunningham, daughter of Dr.
Everett Howard. She will be an honored guest to our 70th anniversary celebration during 2016 Assembly.
Daniel Carrillo has been approved by immigration department and will be installed at SA Central as pastor on
03/20/2016.
Email sent by Sister Grace Ruiz (Kingsville) is shared by DS asking that any pastoral information required for
Kingville church be directed to her as to not stress her dad who is currently serving as pastor but is actually retired
already. DS replies primarily stating of our district’s gratitude for her dad’s service. Unfortunately, we have not found
a pastor for Kingville. He/ She must be bi-vocational since neither the church nor the district is in a position to pay a
full time person.
$800 approved for church at Odessa for repair of bathroom at pastoral House.
Rev Victor Trujillo informs DS and Advisory Board that staring in January 2016, he will be temporarily conducting
services at 102 Saxon Dr. San Antonio, TX, 78213.
Pastor Jimmy Ramos has been approved by immigration department and will be installed at Laredo as pastor on

Abril 4, 2016
El comité de finanzas del Distrito Latino Texas Oklahoma [TOLD] recomienda:
1. Que las iglesias envíen mensualmente o semanalmente al tesorero de distrito el 10% de los diezmos
y ofrendas regulares [Domingo AM, PM y servicios durante la semana] y el 10% de las ofrendas
regulares de los departamentos. El tesorero de distrito distribuirá este 10% en proporciones asignadas,
por la asamblea, a los diferentes departamentos de distrito de la siguiente manera:
a. 70% Para gastos y sostenimientos del Distrito
b. 5% Para el departamento del MNI de Distrito [Misionero]
c. 5% Para el departamento de NYI de Distrito [Jóvenes]
d. 5% Para el departamento de MED de distrito [Escuela Dominical]
e. 5% Para INEM [Instituto, Nazareno de Educación Ministerial]
f. 5% Para nuevas obras
g. 5% Para gastos de contingencias [emergencias] el cual será administrado a discreción de la Junta

cada departamento al tesorero de la Iglesia General y a la Universidad Nazarena del Sur

4. Que los departamentos de distrito de MNI, MED y NYI y la administración central del distrito den a
conocer a las iglesias en cada zona, en la gira distrital, el presupuesto de gastos para el ano eclesiástico
2014-2015.
5. Que el distrito someta su tesorería a una auditoria a través de una organización sin fines lucrativos para
recibir
también orientación y ayuda en esta área.

The finance committee of the Texas Oklahoma Latin District (TOLD) recommends:
1.
That every Church sent monthly or weekly to the district treasurer 10% of tithes and regular offerings
(Sunday AM, PM and services during the week) and 10% of the regular offerings from each department.
The district treasurer shall distribute this 10% in proportions assigned by the assembly, to the different
District departments as follows:
a. 70% for expenses and support of the District
b. 5% for the department of District NMI (Nazarene Missions International)
c. 5% to department of District NYI (Nazarene Youth International)
d. 5% for the department of district SDMI (Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International)
e. 5% for District Bible School INEM (Instituto Nazareno de Educación Ministerial)
f. 5% for new works
g. 5% for contingency costs (emergency) which will be administered at the discretion of the Advisory
Board.

That every Church sent monthly or weekly 10% of the tithes and offerings to the treasurer of the General
Church and Southern Nazarene University (SNU) divided into the following

D. COMITÉ DE SOSTENIMIENTO MINISTERIAL
4 de Abril del 2016
Se recomienda que cada iglesia se esfuerce en proveer salario digno a su pastor de acuerdo como lo
establece el Manual de la Iglesia del Nazareno y los siguientes principios bíblicos:
A. Que el salario es digno y meritorio así como lo es el ministerio (2ª Tes. 1:11-12, 1ª Tim. 5:18). Es
decir, no es un regalo ni acto de bondad ni para cubrir necesidades, sino de mérito (2ª Cor. 9:7)
B. Que el salario es el fruto del trabajo, la preparación y la capacidad del ministro y así debe ser
compensado en proporción a su capacidad, experiencia, dedicación y eficiencia (1ª Cor. 9:13-14;
1ª Tes. 5:12; 1ª Tim. 5:17; 2ª Tim. 2:6)
C. Que el ministro tiene una gran responsabilidad y debe cumplirla así como debe esperar
retribución por el cumplimiento eficaz y profesional de su trabajo (He. 13:7, 17).
I.
Que cada iglesia para considerarse SOSTEN PROPIO y pastor de tiempo completo se esfuerce en
proveer un sostén pastoral de mínimo básico semanal según la siguiente tabla considerando
su preparación, experiencia y trabajo pastoral:
$ 350.00 de menos de 10 años
$ 375 de 11 a 20 años.
$ 400.00 de 21 a más años.
A. Que no pongan límites al aumento que la iglesia pueda otorgarle considerando el salario
como prioridad en los gasto a y de acuerdo a la posibilidades y fe de cada iglesia local. Que
sea revisado y actualizado cada 6 meses.
B. Que las iglesias con pastor de MEDIO TIEMPO consideren los mismos principios y ofrezcan
su salario en proporción de tiempo y efectividad del ministerio que el pastor ofrece y
negocien la posibilidad de ser pastor de TIEMPO COMPLETO.
C. Que el superintendente y la Junta Consultora motiven a las juntas locales y a la congregación
de cada iglesia para mejorar el salario y beneficios del pastor.
II. Que la iglesia local sea responsable del mantenimiento de la casa pastoral y que sea
inspeccionada por los ecónomos de ser posible tres veces al año, presentando un reporte por escrito anual
con copia al Superintendente de Distrito.
A. Si el pastor vive en la casa alquilada o propia, la iglesia contribuya de alguna manera con los
gastos de la casa y de utilidades.
B. Si el pastor no tiene casa propia, inicie un fondo a este propósito o aumente la aportación a su
jubilación con un mínimo de $ 100.00 mensuales adicionales. La iglesia debe entender la
importancia de esta necesidad a quienes han entregado su vida entera al ministerio.
C. Que cada iglesia provea alguna forma de servicios médicos o seguro médico al pastor y su
familia. Si no está en posibilidades de hacerlo, explique al pastor y haga los mejores arreglos.
D. Que la iglesia ofrezca al pastor una contribución pareja para fondos de jubilación.
E. La iglesia puede negociar con el pastor un paquete total que el pastor distribuya según su
conveniencia.

F. Que cada iglesia cubra los gastos al pastor y su esposa para retiros, campamentos, convenciones y
otras actividades aprobadas en la asamblea de distrito y recomendada por la Iglesia General.
G. Que cada iglesia le de IMPORTANCIA y provea los recursos para la educación continua del
pastor en cursos que le ayuden a su ministerio.
H. Que cada iglesia local se esfuerce hasta donde sea posible en pagar el seguro social del pastor
utilizando la fórmula del IRS.
I. Que cada iglesia otorgue vacaciones pagadas a su pastor de acuerdo a la siguiente fórmula:
1. Los pastores que hayan servido tiempo completo o b i-vocacional en la Iglesia del Nazareno
(en cualquier parte del mundo) ininterrumpidamente desde su primera licencia distrital como
ministro:
a. De 1 a 5 años: Dos semanas de vacaciones
b. De 6 a14 años: Tres semanas de vacaciones
c. De 15 años arriba: Cuatro semanas de vacaciones.
2. Que la iglesia se ponga de acuerdo con el pastor cuando este no toma sus vacaciones
correspondientes.
3. Las vacaciones deben ser programadas y aprobadas por la junta local.
4. El tiempo tomado para Asamblea y Convenciones de Distrito, Retiros Pastorales,
Campamentos y Reuniones Distritales, NO pueden ser consideradas como vacaciones del
pastor.
J. Que la Junta Consultora estudie y ofrezca información a las iglesias sobre el tiempo Sabático del
pastor.
K. Que la iglesia considere seriamente ayudar al pastor en las contribuciones personales para su
retiro, utilizando el sistema de la Iglesia del Nazareno de Pensiones y Beneficios.
L. El manual de la Iglesia del Nazareno ordena el sostén ministerial distrital en su párrafo 136.2; por
tanto, se recomienda que cada iglesia local sea responsable de enviar mensualmente al tesorero de
distrito el presupuesto aprobado por la Asamblea.
M. Bajo estas perspectivas, todas las iglesias tienen el privilegio de extender llamamiento pastoral de
acuerdo a las posibilidades financieras de cada iglesia.

It is recommended that each church will strive to provide a living wage to their pastor as provided under
the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene and the following biblical principles:
A. That the wage is worthy and deserving as is the ministry itself (2 Thess. 1: 11-12, 1 Timothy
5:18.). It is not a gift or act of kindness or to provide for necessities, but it is of merit (2 Cor. 9:7)
B. The salary is the fruit of labor, preparation and the ability of the minister and so must be
compensated in proportion to their ability, experience, dedication and efficiency (1 Corinthians 9:
13-14, 1 Thessalonians 5:12, 1 Tim 5:17; 2 Tim 2: 6)
C. That the Minister has a great responsibility to fulfill and should expect payment for the efficient
and professional fulfillment of their work (Heb 13: 7, 17.)
I.
That each church to be considered SELF SUPPORTING and Pastor be considered full time must
endeavor to provide a pastoral support of basic minimum weekly wage according to the
following table taking in consideration their training, experience and pastoral work:
$ 350.00 for less than 10 years
$ 375.00 11 to 20 years
$ 400.00 over 21 years
A. Do not set limits to increase in wage that the church can give. Consider the salary as priority
and be given according to the possibilities and faith of each local church. Salary should be
reviewed and updated every 6 months.
B. Churches with PART TIME Pastor consider same principles and offer salary in proportion of
time and effectiveness of the ministry that the pastor offers and negotiate the possibility of
full-time pastor.
C. That Superintendent and Advisory Board motivate the local Church Boards and the
congregation of each church to improve the wages and benefits of the pastor.
II. That the local church be responsible for the maintenance of the parsonage and that it be inspected
by the trustees if possible three times a year, and give an annual written report with copy to the District
Superintendent.
A. If the pastor lives in the rented house or owns a house that the church somehow contribute to
household expenses and utilities.
B. If the pastor does not own a house, start a fund for this purpose or increase contributions to their
retirement with a minimum additional $ 100.00 monthly. The church must understand the
importance of this need to those who have given their entire lives to ministry.
C. That each church provides some form of health care or health insurance to the pastor and his
family. If you are not in a position to do so, explain to the pastor and make the best arrangements.
D. That the church offers the Pastor to match contributions to retirement funds.
E. That the Church can negotiate a total package that the pastor can distribute as he sees fit.

F. That each church cover expenses for the pastor and his wife for retreats, camps, conventions and
other activities approved by the district assembly and recommended by the General Church.
G. That each church give IMPORTANCE and provide resources for the continuing education that
will help the Pastor in his or her ministry.
H. That each local church to strive as much as possible to pay social security using the IRS formula
I. That each church give their pastor paid vacation according to the following formula
1. Pastors who have served full-time careers or bi-vocational in the Church of the Nazarene
(anywhere in the world) continuously since its first district license.
a. From 1 to 5 years: Two weeks vacation
b. From 6 to 14 years: Three weeks vacation
c. From 15 years and above:. Four weeks vacation
2. That the Church has an agreement with the pastor when he/she does not take corresponding
vacation.
3. vacations must be scheduled and approved by the local board
4. The time taken for District Assembly and Conventions, Retreats, Camps and District
Meetings, cannot be considered as vacation.
J. That the Advisory Board study and provide information to churches on Sabbath for their pastor.
K. That the church seriously considers helping the pastor in personal contributions for retirement,
using the system of the Nazarene Pensions and Benefits.
L. The Manual of the Church of the Nazarene provides for the District ministerial support in
paragraph 136.2; therefore, it is recommended that each local church be responsible for sending
monthly to the treasurer of the district the budget approved by the Assembly.
M. Under these perspectives, all churches have the privilege of extending pastoral call according to
the financial possibilities of each church.

LXIX Asamblea de Distrito,

Este comité dictamina lo siguiente:
1. Que cada pastor y junta local elijan o nombren a un director de evangelismo con
las siguientes características: persona llena del Espíritu Santo y de buen
testimonio, con habilidades administrativas, que sepa organizar a la gente y hacer
una buena planeación. Además, nombrar un equipo de tres o cuatro personas más
que integren el comité de evangelismo local.
2. Objetivo del director y comité de evangelismo. Ganar a los no creyentes para
Cristo.
3. Tareas a realizar. Se mencionarán algunas, pero pueden añadir las que sean
necesarias y utilizar el personal suficiente para realizarlas.
a. Orientar y platicar con todos lo que realicen actividades en la iglesia para que
orienten sus actividades para atraer a otros para que sean asimilados en la
iglesia. Si dicha actividad no produce ganancias de nuevos es mejor dejar de
hacer dicha y buscar otra que de resultados.
b. Organizar la ruta de asimilación de resultados. Esta ruta consiste en atender a
las personas nuevas que llegan a la iglesia, vía cualquier actividad, vía cultos
del domingo o entre semana, vía actividades especiales, campañas de
evangelismo o santidad, hasta integrarlas formalmente a la vida de la iglesia y
sean parte de los enviados a ganar a otros (manual, 110 y 110.1).
c. Presentar a los nuevos ante la iglesia para que sean identificados plenamente y
toda la congregación sea amigable con ellos. Hacer graduaciones ante la
congregación de cada nivel logrado por el nuevo convertido.
4. Definiendo límites y responsabilidades. Este comité no usurpará a los directores y
comités que trabajan para traer a la gente a la iglesia. Tampoco organizará
campañas de evangelismo o santidad. Las campañas de evangelismo y santidad
deberán ser organizadas y realizadas por el pastor y los mayordomos (manual
138.1).
5. El director de evangelismo llevará record de los nuevos convertidos y su progreso
hasta ser integrados a la vida de la iglesia y se conviertan en ganadores de almas.

Iniciamos nuestra Convención con una calurosa bienvenida por nuestra
directora Rachel Maldonado. La oración fue dirigida por el Rev. Ángel Espinoza.
Tuvimos un pequeño devocional dirigido por el grupo de alabanza de la iglesia
2da. De Oklahoma. El mensaje fue dado por nuestro Superintendente de Distrito
Rev. Caleb Herrera.
Se iniciaron los negocios a las 2:55 de la tarde, señalando las bancas del
centro como barra de votación. Fue nombrado José Ricardo Palacios como page.
Los escrutadores fueron: Jimmy Ramos, Ernesto Treviño, Gladis Soto, y Teresa
Salazar como presidente.
Se enviaron saludos al Rev. Margarito Garza y su esposa, a los
superintendentes de los distritos hispanos en los Estados Unidos y al Rev. Woodie
Stevens.
Se repartieron las copias de los informes y se inició con la lectura del
informe de la directora de los ministerios, Rachel Maldonado, el cual se aceptó con
un aplauso. Mientras lo leía estuvo reconociendo el trabajo de su concilio y les
agradecio con unos presentes. Nuestro superintendente le entrego un regalo de
parte del Distrito.
Se dio lugar a las votaciones leyendo la nómina y se repartieron las cedulas
de votación. Al leer la cedula se tuvo que cambiar a uno de los escrutadores porque
su nombre estaba en la nómina. Se cambió a Ernesto Treviño por Iván Martínez.
Se hizo una oración por el Hno. Dimas y se dio inicio a la votación.
Siguieron la lectura de los informes de Tesorería hecho por la Hna. Karina
Rangel y leído por la secretaria de actas Lidia E. Alfonso. No hubo preguntas y se
aceptó. Se leyó el informe del Ministerio de niños por su directora Ivonne Chávez
el cual fue aceptado. Escuchamos el reporte de Bible Quizzing de niños por la
Hna. Isabel Mora y se aceptó con un aplauso. Seguimos con el informe del Retiro
de Mujeres leído por su directora Aurora Herrera y fue aceptado con muchos
aplausos. También se dio lectura al informe del Retiro de Matrimonios de San
Antonio y el del Centro, los cuales también fueron aceptados.
Se leyó el resultado de la nómina de votación y quedo de la siguiente
manera.

niños que participaron de los dos niveles rojo y azul en el Esgrima bíblico. Dando
los nombres de los niños que participaran en SNU en el mes de Junio en un evento
Regional. Los libros serán Josué Jueces y Ruth.

Thank you for your presence here in Oklahoma City as we celebrate another
year of TOLD Sunday School. It has been a rather difficult year with much prayer
and seeking God’s guidance to be the leader that this district needs and requires.
The work is not easy overseeing 30 SDMI/MEDD programs, working with 30
directors, meeting many teachers, and program directors across the district.
Traveling to the zones you have been very welcoming and I thank you so much.
My prayer is that we have an OUTSTANDING Sunday School program and
ministries district wide and that we continue reaching out to the communities. We
need to continue the mission of discipleship the Lord has set forth for us.
Below find a brief overview of the Sunday School and Worship attendance
monthly averages reported to me. Those with an asterisk (*) did not report on
certain months so previous month’s averages were carried over. These numbers
may vary compared to those sent to the District TOLD Secretary but these are the
numbers that were reported to Kansas City. For the past few years, TOLD has not
reported 100% to Kansas City. General SDMI reports to all districts all SDMI
programs that report 100%. I pray that one day we can see TOLD listed as a
100%.

I want to thank the following Sunday School programs and directors for
promptly reporting their monthly averages to me: Corpus Christi, Emmanuel,
La Cruz, SA Primera, Las Palmas, Brownsville, Harlingen Beth El, Donna. Some
missed it by one or two months, others by more. Let’s all work to a 100%
reporting district.
During the annual zone visits, each SDMI program was given a workbook
for the year. Pastors and Zone Coordinators were also given the same information.

As you can see, Sunday School has events that helps build strong local
programs. These programs involve all age groups from children to our Senior
members of our churches. No one is left out to hear the message of Salvation.
We have started a new year, workbooks will be distributed during the zone visits,
let’s all work together, not just for the district, but for the Kingdom of God.
I want to thank Aurora Herrera (Women’s Ministries) beautiful retreat;
Yvonne Chavez (Children’s Ministries) watching the children participate in camp
and song presentations; Rev Raul and Lidia Alfonso and Rev Angel and Rosa
Espinoza (Couples Ministries) couples have a great time renewing their
relationships; Isabel Mora (Bible Quizzing) along with Yvonne watching the
children participate in quizzing and learning the Word of God, for their work in the
ministries mentioned. You will see from their reports the blessings received at
each of these events. These ministries will continue to be a part of Sunday School
and many friends, family and visitors have been reached through these programs. I
ask that you continue participating and reaching out to others but most importantly
maintain these ministries and directors in prayer.
It was a privilege and learning experience to represent the Sunday School
Department in the TOLD Strategic Planning with our District Superintendent and
General Superintendent Crocker. A lot of work went into this planning and our
prayer is to see a growth in our District as we go forth cultivating a strong TOLD
community of Christlike disciples.

I have thanked my Council who are tremendous, but I want to thank TOLD
SDMI Treasurer, Karina Rangel. She has been my “right arm” and I have been
blessed working with her. Thank you SO much Karina. Local SDMI directors I
enjoy working with each of you and I appreciate very much your work with
Sunday School and promotion of all the programs. We just need to get the
reporting to be a bit more consistent. We’ll get there. TOLD Pastors thank you for
your support….Sunday School is the future of the local church. Thank you DS
Herrera for your support and advice in the directing of the Sunday School program.
I also want to thank my local church, Las Palmas, for their support and prayers. As
some of you may know, my parents are no longer with me, but I thank them daily
for their direction in my spiritual growth and always supporting me in my work for
the church and district.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that
your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Nothing we do for the Lord is in vain. It is not for our glory, bragging rights, etc.

Informe que rindo del Retiro de Matrimonios en Corpus Christi, ante nuestro
Supte. de Distrito Rev. Caleb Herrera, ante el concilio de Escuela Dominical y a
toda la Convención.
Doy gracias a Dios por la oportunidad que me da de servirle. En Octubre del
23-25 tuvimos nuestro Retiro de Matrimonios en Corpus Christi, los hermanos
Jorge y Lorena Gamboa nos ministraron con la palabra y con la musica. Fue de
gran ayuda y bendicion. Nos congregarom 31 parejas
Pasamos un tiempo muy especial ya que tuvimos conferencias, preguntas,
juegos, sorpresas y un basquete donde renovamos nuestros votos como parejas.
El Retiro de Parejas es un evento muy importante porque el enemigo quiere
destruir los matrimonios, las familias y de ese modo herir la iglesia. Haga planes
para el proximo Retiro, los esperamos.
Agradezco la yuda de nuestro superintendente y de su esposa, a nuestra
hermana Sanchez por hacer todas las decoraciones para el Banquete y a todas las
personas que con su ayuda hicieron posible este evento.

Informe del Retiro de Parejas en Oklahoma
Nuestro Retiro de Matrimonios se llevo a cabo los días 6 al 8 de Noviembre de este ano 2015 en Camp
Bond, Tishomingo Oklahoma.
Agradecemos a Dios que nos haya dado la bendición de tener este retiro con la participación de 16
parejas.
El lugar en Camp Bond se presta para relajarse y disfrutar la naturaleza, el clima y sobre toda la presencia
de nuestro amado Señor Jesus. Convivir con nuestros hermanos fue de gran bendición.
Dios nos bendijo atraves de la enseñanza de nuestro Orador Invitado Hno. Rev. Roberto Moreno
Tuvimos nuestra cena de gala y renovamos nuestros votos matrimoniales, creo que las parejas que
asistieron se gozaron y recibieron bendición

Reporte Anual distrital de Esgrima Bíblico infantil
2015-2016
Instruye al niño en el camino correcto, y aun en su vejez no lo abandonará. Proverbios 22: 6
Marzo 21,2015 se llevó a cabo en la iglesia HOUSTON PRIMERA, la Última competencia distrital del libro de EXODO ; se
seleccionaron los niños que cumplieron con los requisitos y normas para asistir al Esgrima Regional 2015 en SNU. Iglesias
participantes en este evento fueron: Houston Primera, Mercedes, Living Water, Las Palmas, San Antonio Primera y Harlandale.
Junio 13,2015 los participantes que fueron seleccionados de TOLD asistieron al ESGRIMA REGIONAL en SNU, Bethany
Oklahoma . Las Iglesias participantes fueron Houston, Las Palmas, San Antonio Primera, Living Water. El estudio fue basado
en EXODO. Mil felicitaciones a los participantes del BLUE LEVEL: Isabella Cuellar, Kayla Segura, Camila Rangel, Daniela
Villanueva, Jared Abrego, Rikki Castillo, Santiago Prado, Matthew Garcia, Hannah Treviño, Kylea Chavez, Edween Salinas,
Denisse Villarreal ; del RED LEVEL: Gabriella Segura, Marvyn Peña, Josiah Chavez, Keila Gonzalez, Alexa Villanueva, Jadyn
Abrego, Samuel Prado, Annabelle Lares, Melanie Ledezma , Angel Salazar. El más sincero agradecimiento a todos los padres,
pastores y maestros que ayudaron a nuestros pequeños nazarenos a lograr este objetivo. Dios bendiga a las Iglesias que
participaron e hicieron todo el esfuerzo de asistir apoyando a los pequeños quizzers. Cumplimos con un total de 22 participantes.

29 al 31 de julio, 2015 En el mini campamento de niños en Heart of Texas Encampment en Brownwood Texas dimos comienzo
al Nuevo estudio del libro de JOSUE; Iglesias participantes fueron San Antonio Primera, Las Palmas, Harlandale, Living Water y
Houston, Tuvimos un total de 42 participantes.
14 de noviembre, 2015, tuvimos la segunda competencia del Libro completo de JOSUE, por primera vez en nuestro distrito se
unieron simultaneamente las zonas del valle, San Antonio y West para llevar este evento en las diferentes zonas. Mi mas sinceros
agradecimientos a Nellie como coordinadora en la zona Valle, Yvonne en la zona San Antonio y su servidora en Oklahoma ,
gracias a Ana Castellanos y Linda Hernandez de Oklahoma , Mariana de Plainview por su asistencia y apoyo con los niños.
Damos gracias a todas las Iglesias anfitrionas en esta ocasión. Iglesias participantes Las Palmas, Primera de San Antonio,
Harlandale, Laredo y Houston. Gracias también a las Iglesias Living Water, Oklahoma Primera Y Segunda y Plainview.
Tuvimos un total de 53 participantes. Dios a bendiga a los nazarenitos de nuestro distrito.

La competencia #3 de nuestro estudio de libros de Josué y Jueces se llevó a cabo simultaneamente, en las 3 mismas zonas
mencionadas anteriormente. Felicitamos a todos los participantes de cada zona. En esta ocasión se unieron iglesia Mercedes y
por primera vez 4 niños de Harlingen. Felicidades !

Hoy culminamos el estudio completo del esgrima bíblico 2015-2016, Josué, Jueces, y Rut. Iglesias participantes San Antonio
Primera, Harlandale, Oklahoma Segunda y Primera. Los finalistas para participar en el Regional el 11 de junio 2016 en SNU
fueron sido seleccionados.
Continuemos orando para que el Dios todopoderoso manifieste su Gloria y Espiritu Santo en los corazones de nuestros
pequeñitos sembrando el mejor Tesoro que puedan poseer. La Palabra de Dios! Oren por este ministerio para sea engrandecido
para su Gloria y honor!

Estimado Superintendente Rev. Caleb Herrera, Directora de Escuela Dominical Hna. Rachel
Maldonado, Pastores de nuestro distrito T.O.L.D., amigos y visitantes. Primeramente doy gracias a
Dios por el privilegio que EL me da de trabajar con los niños a nivel distrital.
CAMPAMENTO DE NIÑOS
Campamento de Ninos fue de nuevo en The Heart of Texas Baptist Camp en Brownwood, Texas.
Como directora de campamento fue un gran placer ministrar a los niños a través de los mensajes de
nuestra oradora invitada Jennifer Sommers, el lema se basó en 1ª. de Pedro 3:13 “ Sino santificad al
Señor Dios en vuestros corazones, y esta siempre aparejado para responder con masedumbre y
reverencia a cada uno que os demande razón de la esperanza que hay en vosotros”el mensaje
motivó a los niños a descubrir, decidir y defender su salvación. Los niños juntamente con los
adultos disfrutaron de las siguientes actividades, “game night”, “wáter games”, “music”, “crafts”,
“Bible Quizzing”, “swimming”, “talent night” y “red carpet night”.
Gracias a las iglesias que hicieron el esfuerzo y con su asistencia nos apoyaron trayendo sus niños.
Donna,Harlandale, Houston, S.A. Las Palmas, Living Water, Lubbock, Segunda de Oklahoma, Y
San Antonio Primera. La iglesia de Mercedes querían asistir al campamento por falta de
transportación no les fue posible. Total de asistencia al campamento 126 niños y adultos.
Sobrepasamos nuestra meta de 100 personas.
BIBLE QUIZZING
Este año los niños de Bible Quizzing estudiaron el libro de Josué, Jueces y Rut. Se tuvieron 3
competencias durante el año, haciéndose en forma simultanea por zonas en los de noviembre y enero.
Iglesias que participaron: Las Palmas, Houston, Oklahoma Segunda, Oklahoma Primera, Laredo,
Plainview, Living Water, Mercedes y San Antonio Primera. A nivel distrital pudimos llevar 22 niños
para participar en la competencia regional en Southern Nazarene University en Bethany, Oklahoma.
AGRADECIMIENTO
Quiero agradecer a todas las congregaciones del distrito T.O.L.D. por su apoyo a través de la oración
y por la participación en las actividades de los niños a nível distrital y regional. Mil gracias y que
Dios les bendiga ricamente.
No puedo pasar por alto sin mencionar a las personas que nos apoyado. Hna. Rachel Maldonado,
Rev. Caleb Herrera y sus esposa nuestra Aurora, gracias por la confianza que ustedes tienen en mi y
en mi ministerio que son los niños. Gracias Hna. Isabel Mora por ayudar y motivar a los niños de
nuestro distrito a estudiar la Palabra de Dios. Las nuevas iglesias que participaron a nível distrital
este año fueron Oklahoma Primera, Oklahoma Segunda y Plainview. Gracias a tu equipo Ana
Castellaños, Nellie Treviño, a todos los “scorekeepers” de las diferentes iglesias. Dios te bendiga por
tu servicio como directora de distrito de Bible Quizzing.

Gracias mil gracias a mi iglesia local Primera de San Antonio, a todo el equipo que trabaja conmigo,
a mis niños y sus padres que continuamente me están apoyando en todo para que yo pueda cumplir
con mis responsabilidades a nível local y distrital.
Finalmente agradezco a mi esposo Sam, mis hijos Kylea y Josiah por apoyarme en todas las
actividades. Dios les pagará y les recompensará con ricas bendiciones solo quiero que ellos recuerdan
que servir a Dios es un gozo y un privilegio.
En el libro de Josué 3:5 nos dice “Y Josué dijo al pueblo: Santificaos, porque Jehová hará
mañana entre vosotros maravillas” y estamos viendo las maravillas con los niños a través de todo
el distrito, Dios me ha guardado y me ha fortalecido y sigue obrando con los niños a nível local, de
zona y distrital.

Welcome to TOLD Children's Quizzing!
How it works:
Each book in the Children's Quizzing curriculum has been chosen intentionally to help
children gain an overall understanding of the chronology of the Bible. The six studies in the
scope and sequence are:
Studies in 1 & 2 Samuel (2016-17)
1 and 2 Samuel show the Israelite people disillusioned with the Lord as their King, and their desire to
have a king “like the other nations.” Samuel, Saul, and David are introduced. Children learn how
Jerusalem became the center of Jewish religion. This study also prepares the children for the next study,
the focal point of the entire study, Matthew.
Studies in Matthew (2017-18)
Matthew is the focal point of the entire Bible study series. It focuses on the birth, life, and ministry of
Jesus. All the previous Bible studies point to Jesus being the Son of God and the Messiah. The teachings
of Jesus, His death, resurrection, and mentoring of His disciples usher in a new era to humanity. Children
learn people can have a direct and personal relationship with God, through Jesus

Studies in Acts (2018-19)
In Acts children learn how the “good news” of salvation through Jesus Christ comes to the twenty-first
century. Jesus ascends to heaven, and the Holy Spirit is sent to help the Church. The gospel is being
preached to the Gentiles, missionary work begins, and the message of God's love transforms both Jew and
Gentile. Children learn the direct connection between the efforts of the Apostle Paul, Peter, and others to
their lives today
Studies in Genesis (2019-20)
Genesis provides the foundation. Children learn how the world began and that God is the Creator. It
explains what sin is and how it began. It introduces God's plan to reconcile the broken relationship
between God and people. It introduces major Bible characters such as Adam, Eve, and Noah. The
patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) are studied and introduced as the founders of the Israelite people.
An oath and covenant between the Lord and Abraham in Genesis 15 becomes a major theme of the rest of
the Bible study series. The Lord tells Abraham his descendants would become mistreated strangers in a
foreign land. The Lord says He would redeem them and punish their captors. Genesis ends with God’s
oath to Abraham unfulfilled.
Studies in Exodus (2020-21)
Exodus details exactly how God kept His promise made to Abraham (Genesis 15) as He rescues the
Israelites and bring them out of Egypt. The Lord chooses, guides, and mentors Moses to become His
prophet and the human leader of the Israelite people. The Lord sets up His theocracy, or kingship, to lead
and rule the Israelite people through the establishment of: worship (the priesthood and the Tabernacle),
law (the Ten Commandments), and leadership (the role of prophet and judge) of the Israelite people.
Exodus ends with only a part of the Lord’s covenant (Genesis 15) completed
Students will learn that God is faithful and
keeps His promises!

President’s Report
District Superintendent Caleb Herrera, NYI delegates, pastors, and friends,
“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for
me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything
else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” Gods Decree.
Jeremiah 29:12-14 The Message
First and foremost, I want to thank God for my salvation and for the love that He has shown me
this year. The verse that I read has been my hope and prayer this year, and I can truly say that
God never disappoints when you honestly and wholeheartedly get serious about finding Him.
I humbly present to you my first report as TOLD NYI President. It has been an amazing learning
experience, filled with ups and downs like all things that you do for the first time. But throughout
this journey God has filled me with a deeper passion for young people and for serving Him no
matter what obstacles may come.
This last year has been full of God’s grace and exciting news! I’ve been blessed beyond measure
serving you as your president. All I can truly say is that it was a privilege working with you this
year. I’ve met amazing people throughout this year and have created great friendships throughout
the district. The biggest blessing thus far is that my husband and I are expecting our first baby
boy. I pray that God may continue to use me so that I can be reflection of Him to all those
surrounding me, but mostly for my baby boy.
The following is a list of events that occurred this past year at the district level:

 May 22nd- 25th, 2015: Unfortunately I was not able to attend Extravaganza at Southern
Nazarene University, but we had a total of 23 young people representing our district.
Congratulations to SA Primera for taking a nice group of 18 young people. The young
people that attended participated in bible quizzing, soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
 July 16th- 19th, 2015: I was extremely blessed to co-direct camp “Spirit Break Out” along
with Kevin and Selene. We changed our camp location and experienced God’s presence
at Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center with our special speaker, Pastor Tim
Adams. We had 112 youth in attendance, which is 8 more than the previous year. It was
an amazing experience being able to encounter God’s manifestation in the lives of our
young people.
 August 30th-31st, 2015: I attended the leadership conferences with Dr. Crocker at Las
Palmas. I think that all of us who attended learned a great deal. At these conferences we
learned about developing emergent leaders. One of the lessons that have remained in my
mind is when Dr. Crocker said, “The key to sustaining a healthy presence of the church
means that every part of the body is engaged in the mission of the church.” My prayer is
that we as church, district, and body of Christ continue engaged in the true mission of the
church.
 October 2nd-3rd, 2015: Strategy for Growth Commission with Dr. Crocker—A group of
district leaders along with our Superintendent Caleb Herrera met with General
Superintendent Dr. Crocker for a two day session on the planning of the future of our
district. There we developed goals and strategies for the next 5 years in which we will be
implementing in our district and our churches.
 October 11th- 12th, 2015: South Central Regional NYI meeting at Southern Nazarene
University
 October 30th- November 1st, 2015: We had planned a camping youth retreat “Rooted” at
Garner State Park and invited Nelinda Trevino from Living Water to be our special
speaker. Unfortunately, due to the weather we made a last minute call to cancel the
retreat, keeping the safety of the young people first in mind. Living Water and
Brownsville continued with the trip and had a blessed time together. I’m so glad that you
were able to have such a nice time despite the storm. May God continue to use you and
work through you.

 December 27th- January 2nd, 2016: Two of our young people participated in
Commission to Mexico. Byanca and Armando, may God continue to use you in His
works and what He has already set apart for you.
 January 30th, 2016: I was given the privilege of taking part in the first deliverance of the
Essential Guide for Strategic Growth to the SA Zone at Sur Flores along with
Superintendent Caleb Herrera, Pastor Ubaldo Salazar, and Lay member Adan Villanueva.
My favorite part of the presentation was the emphasis on the number 26. For those who
were not able to attend these presentations; 26 is the average age of young Arabs fighting
in the Middle East, Latin American revolutionary youth, the disciples of Jesus, and the
majority of those responding to the ministry. Take 1st Timothy 4:12 to heart and let this
be an awakening to each of you. There is no such thing as too young when it comes to
God’s ministry.
 March 7th-8th, 2016: Leadership Conference in Boston; I wasn’t able to attend this event
where the rest of the district presidents of our region were going to meet. Instead of the
funds that were going to be spent on this conference, the council and I decided to pay for
the registrations of those interested in attending CumbreUSA2016, a global Hispanic
leadership conference in Dallas, Tx. We have a total of 7 leaders of our district that will
be attending this conference on April 1st and 2nd. Please keep us in your prayers and all
the emerging leaders in our district as well.
 We had a total of 5 district council meetings this year, 4 of which were in San Antonio
and 1 at camp. The following are the dates that we had our meetings:

Thank you to all the churches that sent in their NYI church reports. At the end of my report you
will find a spreadsheet that includes all of the churches that sent in their reports. I have provided
the information that was shared in order for churches to see and ask questions to better improve
their local youth departments. Every youth group is different, so there may be things that work
for some and not others, but it’s good to reflect on your local youth groups and work along with
other youth groups to help and support each other. Remember that we are one body, the body of
Christ. And our unity is key to our growth, not only in numbers but most importantly in Spirit.
To the NYI district council; thank you for all of your help and support this year. You all had
great patience with me, which is much appreciated. Thank you Vania, Melissa, Byanca, Dulce,
Stephanie, Kevin, Selene, Richi, Franchesca, Klarissa, Arturo, Kassie, and Thomas. My prayer is

that God continues to use you wherever and whoever you come into contact with. Our testimony
is a powerful tool that we can use for God’s kingdom.
To our 2016 camp directors, Moises and Daniela, thank you for the work that you’ve put into the
planning of our youth camp thus far. I know God will use the both of you greatly! Thank you,
Moises, for your help with planning and organizing our night of sports and fellowship. You have
been a huge help in many aspects! May God bless you and your beautiful family.
Alondra, you have emerged greatly as an amazing leader. Thank you for taking on the task to
motivate and encourage churches in attending Extravaganza this year. May you allow God to
continue using you. By the way, young people, you can still register for Extravaganza! For
middle school and high school students, your hotel will still be paid for if you participate.
To my church, Las Palmas—Thank you for all of your support. Despite my absence due to many
district events, you have been more than understanding and loving. I love you all as my family.
Some of you (Jonathan and Katharine) actually do refer to me as a mother. I don’t think I’m that
old, but accept the endearment with wide open arms! Thank you, Katharine for being such a
great friend to me this year. I truly appreciate your friendship and all the help you’ve given me
this year. To all the leaders in my church, thank you for your prayers and love; Dulce, Sylvia,
Martha, Dr. and Mrs. Rodriquez, X, Di, Lourdes, Smiley, Laurie, and anybody that I may have
missed. You all are amazing!
Superintendent Caleb Herrera, boss, dad, my friend… Thank you for your guidance and words of
wisdom. I have learned so much with you by my side. Thank you for treating me with the same
respect and professionalism as you do with the rest of your leaders. Thank you for always
answering my phone calls, texts, emails, ridiculous questions, and for keeping your patience with
me. Mom, my prayer warrior… Thank you for always praying for me and for always teaching
me to show love and compassion. You have been my calming voice, always making sure I don’t
stress too much especially for my baby’s health. I appreciate and love the two of you so much,
more than words can express.
To my husband and best friend, Robert; although you are not able to be here with me today due
to work, God knows you’ve been my support in all the works that I’ve done for His honor and
glory. Thank you for your love and patience. Thank you for sacrificing time that we could’ve
spent together in order for me to do what God has called me to do. Thank you for loving me and
our precious baby boy. I couldn’t have done this without you.
TOLD NYI, continue the work in your local churches. Seek God, for He knows all that is
necessary and will answer your prayers of hope and guidance. Know that you are all constantly
in my prayers and that God has great plans for you, your church, your zone, and your district.
Work hard, and persevere, for the Lord our God is glorified when we do all things in Him and
for Him.

Per the Manual Paragraph 810.219 District NYI Conventions

1. The annual District NYI Convention provides for inspirational sessions and programs to
advance youth ministry across the district. Reports are received, leadership is elected, and any
legislative business pertaining to the work of NYI is transacted at the Convention. Delegates to
the Global NYI Convention are also elected consistent with the NYI Global Ministry Plan.
2. The District NYI Council arranges for and oversees the District NYI Convention, in
cooperation with the district superintendent. The Convention convenes at a time and place
designated by the District NYI Council, with the approval of the district superintendent and
within ninety days of the District Assembly.
3. The District NYI Convention is composed of the members of the District NYI Council, the
district superintendent, local pastors, other assigned ordained ministers of the district who
participate in NYI ministry, and local NYI delegates.
4. All local NYI delegates to the District NYI Convention must be members of the Church of
the Nazarene that they represent.
5. The number of local NYI delegates for each church is determined by the membership figures
on the most recent local Pastor’s Report prior to the District Assembly. District NYI leadership
encourages local churches to make suitable arrangements for the expenses of delegates attending
the District NYI Convention.
6. The local NYI delegation to the District NYI Convention for churches with 30 or fewer NYI
members consists of:
a. The pastor and youth pastor or any full-time paid pastoral staff who participates in NYI
ministry;
b. The newly-elected local NYI president;
c. Up to four elected delegates, with at least half being within the district established NYI
ministry focus.
d. Local churches may add an additional delegate for each successive 30 local NYI
members and/or final major part of those 30 members (i.e., 16-29 members). At least half
of any additional delegates must be also within the district established NYI ministry
focus.
7. The pastor of any local church or director of an approved Nazarene Compassionate Ministries
Center not having an organized NYI may appoint one delegate.

OCTAVO INFORME ANUAL DEL INSTITUTO NAZARENO DE EDUCACION

Estimado Superintendente General en Jurisdicción, Dr. David Busic.
Rev. Caleb Herrera, Superintendente de Distrito,
Pastores, delegados, visitantes,
Agradezco a Dios el privilegio de servirle en INEM y el poder e informar a esta honorable
asamblea. Agradecemos el trabajo realizado por el cuerpo de profesores que colaboran en
nuestro instituto. El Dr. José Rodríguez, el Rev. Caleb Herrera, superintendente del distrito, el
Rev., Ubaldo Salazar, nuestro decano académico, el Rev. José I Palacios, nuestro coordinador de
INEM en la zona del Valle, y otros fieles colaboradores, con los que, afortunadamente, contamos
para desarrollar nuestro ministerio.
A continuación ofrecemos una lista de los cursos dictados en las diferentes zonas de
nuestro distrito, así como lo que está ofreciendo INEM en materia de posibilidades de estudio.
También ofrecemos una lista de los cursos ofrecidos durante el otoño y primavera de este año.
Por la gracia de Dios, se continúan dando cursos en la zona del Valle, donde contamos
con los profesores, Rev. Daniel Molina, Rev. José Ayala, y el Rev. José I. Palacios, quien es el
actual coordinador en esa zona. Durante el mes de enero se dictó el curso de Homilética por el
profesor José Ayala.
A finales del mes de octubre y principio de septiembre tuvimos la celebración de las
conferencias en honor al Dr. José Rodríguez, donde se impartieron tres conferencias o ponencias
por parte de tres de nuestros profesores. El Dr. José Rodríguez, quien nos trajo el tema del
carácter instantáneo de la experiencia de la entera santificación, el Rev. Ubaldo Salazar, quien
nos compartió acerca del pecado interno y el pecado externo, y un servidor, quien habló acerca
de una perspectiva wesleyana para el crecimiento de la iglesia.

La Planificación Estratégica del Distrito Latino Texas Oklahoma (TOLD) se llevó a cabo
el 2 y3 de Octubre, 2015, con la intervención del Dr. Gustavo Crocker, Superintendente General, como
consultor, y la asistencia del Comité Consultivo del Distrito: Junta Consultora, Rev. Rogelio López, Rev.
Joe Dimas, Laicos Adán Villanueva, Blanca Córdova, Fructuoso García; secretario de Distrito, Rev. José
Ayala; presidentes de departamentos, Escuela Dominical y Discipulado, Rachel Maldonado; Misiones
Nazarenas Internacionales, Juanita Díaz; Juventud Nazarena Internacional, Astrid Sierra; representantes
del cuerpo educacional, Rev. Evelio Monestina, Rev. Ubaldo Salazar; y laico ad hoc Amado Sosa.
El Dr. Gustavo Crocker principió enseñando que el Apóstol San Pablo tenía sentido de misión. Él
tenía una
Misión Clara—A los gentiles (Romanos 15:16), una Visión clara—Los que nunca les fue anunciado
acerca de él, verán; y los que nunca han oído de él, entenderán (Romanos 15:21).
Esto nos lleva al hecho de que debe haber un propósito, y debe haber un plan.
El Plan del Apóstol San Pablo era -Voy a España y -Paso por Roma (Romanos 15:24).
La enseñanza fue reforzada dando los siguientes ejemplos de las enseñanzas de Jesús.
¿Quién de vosotros, queriendo edificar una torre, nos se sienta primero y calcula los gastos… (Lucas
14:28)

¿O que rey, al marchar a la guerra contra otro rey, no se sienta primero y considera… (Lucas 14:31)
El Dr. Gustavo Crocker también nos habló sobre Habacuc 2:1, ‘Sobre mi guarda estaré, y sobre la
fortaleza afirmaré el pie, y velaré para ver lo que se me dirá…’
Jehová responde: (2:2-3), ‘Escribe la visión, y declárala en tablas, para que corra el que leyere en ella.
Aunque la visión tardará aún por un tiempo, mas se apresura hacia el fin, y no mentirá, aunque tardare,
espéralo, porque sin duda vendrá, no tardara.’
No es suficiente tener visión! Puede haber líderes con visión, pero luego las iglesias se acomodan y no
quieren moverse. Hay jóvenes con visión, como Joel, pero con los años, con la edad, la visión va de
visión a sueño (anhelos). Soñando de antes… Cuando estaba el Seminario… La iglesia no puede vivir
del pasado.
Luego nos dijo que la clave es el #26
El número 26 es la EDAD PROMEDIO
--De los Jóvenes Árabes que están peleando en el Medio Oriente
--De los jóvenes revolucionarios latinoamericanos
--De los Discípulos de Jesús
--De la mayoría de las personas que han respondido al ministerio.
¿Cuál es el problema? El problema es que los visionarios están allá afuera y debemos darles la
oportunidad de entrar.
El profeta Habacuc nos enseña como transmitir la visión, V.1
Primero, Afirmar sobre la fortaleza.
Segundo, Velar para ver (lo que se me dirá) el futuro. Abrir los ojos para ver la visión (poner atención a
las debilidades para corregirlas), recordar La definición de LOCURA: Hacer lo mismo esperando
resultados diferentes.
Tercero, Escribe la visión- ponla en tablas- Para el que la leyera, corra.
Luego tomamos las enseñanzas para aplicarlas para lo que nos habíamos reunido.
MISION: Para que existimos como distrito? Para ganar a los Hispanos para el Señor! Propósito
1. Refinar la declaración de misión!, MISION= PROPOSITO= PARA QUE EXISTIMOS
2. Promover la Misión.

VISION: Es el lugar a donde vamos a llegar mientras estamos haciendo la misión.
A donde vamos? Esto provee sentido de dirección
Terminamos esa introducción con la idea clara que debemos tener una Visión, una Misión y un Plan de
acción. (VISION + MISION + PLAN), y el hecho de que Dios es un Dios de orden, y es nuestro deber el
planificar. Y una vez habiendo terminado con nuestro trabajo a nivel distrital ver que el plan se
personifique o contextualice a nivel de zona y local.
Para planificar debemos primero determinar
1. Donde estamos- (Análisis situacional- diagnóstico)
2. A donde vamos- (Que es nuestra visión)

¿DONDE ESTAMOS COMOS DISTRITO?
Concluimos, basados en la historia del distrito y las respuestas a la “Auto-Encuesta del desarrollo del
distrito” (District Development Self-Study Survey), que históricamente hemos estado en el ‘plateau’
(Planicie, estancamiento), Navegando, a punto de naufragar.
En seguida, el Dr. Croker pidió al Superintendente de Distrito que compartiera su visión.
El Superintendente de Distrito, Rev. Caleb Herrera, comparte su visión que consiste en
1. Desarrollo de nuevos líderes, nuevos y más pastores con mas visión (EDUCACION)
2. Profundizar doctrinalmente al pueblo y crear lealtad (SEGUIMIENTO Y DISCIPULADO)
3. Dar herramientas al pueblo para evangelismo y crecimiento
4. Crear facilitación de compañerismo y ayuda mutua en el distrito
