Durante la época colonial, Pátzcuaro se transformó

During the colonial era, Pátzcuaro was transformed
with spanish buildings, but respected its radial
construction regarding the temples; catholic
monuments were built on the indigenous. With
abundance of relevant colonial buildings and an
endless number of ancient and beautiful places that
let the imagination soar through time, Pátzcuaro is
fascinating.

Aunque es una población pequeña, conserva un
conjunto típico de arquitectura con calles y cuestas

Llegar al corazón del pueblo implica subir una
escalinata y encontrar el Santuario del Carmen, del
siglo XVIII. Su portada barroca es sorprendente.
¿Sorpresa en particular? la decoración interior del
Santuario, además en el altar mayor está la Virgen
del Carmen, una obra pintada sobre adobe.
Arriving to the heart of the village involves climbing a
staircase and find the Sanctuary of El Carmen, of the
XVIII century. Its baroque façade is surprising, is
there any surprise in particular? the decoration of
the interior of the sanctuary, besides the main altar
there is the Virgin of Carmen, a painted work on
adobe.
También puedes visitar las Ruinas del Carmen y un
interesante museo en la antigua casa de los
Hermanos Rayón, insurgentes de la Independencia
de México, pero como algo verdaderamente
especial, haz una visita a la Mina Dos Estrellas,
primera productora de oro y plata a nivel mundial a
finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, hoy museo.

Brothers, insurgents of Mexico's Independence, but
as something truly special, visit the Dos Estrellas
Mine, first worldwide gold and silver producer at the
end of the XIX century and the biginning of the XX
century, currently a museum.

El lugar de las tinajas de agua, se ubica a mil 840
metros de altura sobre el nivel del mar y a solo 34
kilómetros de Morelia, por la carretera a Salamanca.

kilometers from Morelia, in the road to Salamanca.
El pueblo ribereño es parte etnográfica de la cuenca
del lago de Cuitzeo. Por cierto, sorpréndete al saber
que es el segundo vaso acuífero más extenso de todo
México y que su formación data de millones años.
The coastal village is an ethnographic part of the
lake Cuitzeo watershed. Be surprised to know that is
the second more extensive aquiferous vessel in
Mexico and that its formation dates from millions of
years.
El magnífico puente carretero de 4 kilómetros de
longitud, fue construido en 1882 y ofrece una vista
panorámica del lago, hábitat natural de muchas
especies de aves, es particularmente interesante
observarlas al atardecer cuando se ven volando en
grandes parvadas.
The magnificent bridge road of 4 kilometers lenght,
was built in 1882 and offers a panoramic view of the
lake, natural habitat of many bird species, it is
particularly interesting to observe them in the
evening when there are flying in large flocks.
No solo es encanto natural lo que encuentras en
Cuitzeo, sino también una espectacular construcción conventual iniciada en 1550, con un aspecto de
fortaleza medieval. Es el conjunto agustino de Santa
María Magdalena, testimonio de gran relevancia de
la conquista espiritual de la Nueva España que
conserva vestigios de arte y cultura de mucha
relevancia.
It is not only natural magic which you can find in
Cuitzeo, but also a spectacular conventual contruction
began in 1550, with an appearance of a medieval
fortress. It is the augustinian ensemble of Saint Mary
Magdalene, testimony of great relevance of the
spiritual conquest of New Spain that preserves
traces of art and culture of great relevance.

Literalmente se forja el cobre a golpe de martillo, lo
que te garantiza adquirir una pieza única en
cualquiera de los talleres donde trabajan los
maestros artesanos; además, la versión de todo lo
que te puedas imaginar, lo podrás ver en cobre:
desde caballitos tequileros hasta tinas increíbles,
pasando por copas, vasos, charolas, y muchísimas
cosas que sin duda te asombrarán.
Copper is literally forged by hammering it, what
warrants you to acquire a unique piece in any of the
workshops where the master craftsmen work;
furthermore, the version of everything you can
imagine, you can see it in copper: from small tequila
glasses to incredible tubs, passing through cups,
glasses, trays and many things that certainly will
amaze you.
Santa Clara del Cobre posee un importante
patrimonio edificado de los siglos XVI - XIX. Se
pueden distinguir los estilos neoclásico, ecléctico,
plateresco y barroco, enmarcados por una
arquitectura civil típica.
Santa Clara del Cobre has an important constructed
heritage legacy of the XVI-XIX centuries. Neoclassical, eclectic, plateresque and baroque styles framed
by a typical civil architecture can be distinguished.
¿Sabías que un hermano del padre de la Patria fue
párroco de Santa Clara y que el mismo Don Miguel
fue Sacristán Honorario y por eso eran frecuentes
las visitas del prócer a este poblado y en 1984 la
artesanía del cobre martillado recibió el Premio
Nacional de Ciencias, Artes y Tradiciones
Populares?.
Santa Clara es uno de los escenarios de la famosa
novela clásica de la literatura mexicana, "La vida
inútil de Pito Pérez", escrita por José Rubén Romero
y que fue llevada al cine nacional.
También fue en Santa Clara donde se hizo el pebetero del fuego de los Juegos Olímpicos de México 1968,
así como la fachada del Centro de Convenciones de

Santa Clara is one of the stages of the classic famous
novel of the mexican literature, "La vida inutil de Pito
Pérez", written by José Rubén Romero and that was

of the Olympic Games of Mexico 1968 was made, as
well as the façade of the Acapulco Convention

Un pueblo minero de arquitectura colonial que
también incluye en su entorno natural una parte
muy importante del Patrimonio Mundial: Santuarios
de la Mariposa Monarca, ubicados dentro de la
reserva de la biósfera y considerada una de las 13
maravillas del mundo natural moderno de México.
A miner town of colonial architecture that also
includes in its natural environment a very important
part of the World Heritage: Monarch Butterfly
Sanctuaries, located within the biosphere reserve
and considered one of the 13 modern wonders of the
natural world of Mexico.
Su arquitectura es bastante peculiar: ¿Sabes que
Angangueo tiene su “Iglesia de los Pobres”? Es la
parroquia de San Simón y está ubicada a un costado
de la plaza principal.
Its architecture is quite unusual: Do know that
Angangueo has its Church of the Poor? It is the parish
of San Simón and is located next to the main square.
Como bien podrás imaginarte, cuenta con el
“Templo de los Ricos”, que es el templo de la
Concepción.
Descubre la Casa de Bill y Joyce Parker en el centro
de Angangueo. Ahora es un museo que muestra una
crónica fotográfica que retrata la época de apogeo
minero.
Otro sitio para conocer es el Túnel Turístico San
Simón, de 9.50 metros de profundidad y una
longitud de 100 metros.
Angangueo te cuenta su historia a través de su
famoso mural, pintado por Jorge Téllez, quien narra
parte de la historia del lugar, pero también puedes
ascender al mirador y disfrutar de una vista
panorámica y de paso, conocer el Monumento al
Minero.

WELL, AT ONLY 80 KILOMETERS FROM MORELIA, THERE IS TACÁMBARO.
Tomando la autopista a Pátzcuaro, y luego con
rumbo hacia Santa Clara del Cobre, hay una desviación hacia este Pueblo Mágico; de igual manera se
puede arribar al mismo por la ruta Morelia - Tiripetío
- Acuitzio - Villa Madero - Tacámbaro. Descubre que
Tacámbaro es un punto de intersección climático
por su ubicación geográfica, con la particularidad de
registrar diferentes alturas y temperaturas en el
mismo lugar: tiene una altura promedio de mil 600
metros sobre el nivel del mar, con clima templado en
la plaza principal; en el mismo lugar, pero del lado
norte, la altura registra mil 800 metros con clima frío
y la parte sur tiene mil 460 metros y clima cálido.
Su nombre es de origen purhépecha, proviene de
“Tacamba” una especie de palma izote que da flores
comestibles y se resume como “Lugar de Palmas”.
¿Algo excepcional? El Santuario de la Virgen de
Fátima, que alberga a las Vírgenes Refugiadas,
consideradas reinas espirituales de Polonia,
Hungría, Lituania y Cuba. Las imágenes de estas
vírgenes fueron traídas a Tacámbaro debido a que
en sus países de veneración la religión católica era
perseguida; además de contar con una réplica del
Santo Sepulcro. Conocida como “Corte de Tierra
Caliente”, “Balcón de Tierra Caliente” “Ciudad
Heroica”, Tacámbaro tiene un entorno boscoso muy
bello y un clima templado, considerado como uno de
los mejores del mundo. Lugar donde surge la universalmente conocida canción de ‘Adiós, Mariquita
linda’, compuesta por el ilustre tacambarense
Marcos A. Jiménez.
Taking the highway to Pátzcuaro and then heading
to Santa Clara del Cobre, there is a deviation to this
magic town; you can arrive by the same route
Morelia - Tiripetío - Acuitzio - Villa Madero - Tacámbaro. Discover that Tacámbaro is a climatic
intersection point due to its geographical location,
with the particularity of having different temperatures and different heights in the same place: it has
an average height of one thousand 600 hundred
meters asl, with a temperate climate in the main
square; in the same place, but on the north side, the
height registers one thousand 800 meters with cold
climate and the southern part has one thousand 460
meters and warm climate.
Its name has a purépecha origin; it comes from
"Tacamba” a kind of izote palm that gives edible
flowers and is summarized as "Place of Palms".

Virgin of Fátima, which is the home of the refugee
virgins, considered as the spiritual queens of Poland,
Hungary, Lithuania and Cuba. The images of these
virgins were brought due to the fact that in their
veneration countries the catholic religion was
persecuted; besides having a replica of the holy
sepulchre. Known as "Tierra Caliente Cut”, “Tierra
Caliente Balcony, "Heroic City”, Tacámbaro has
really beautiful wooded surroundings and a mild
climate, considered as one of the best in the world.
The place where the universally known song "Adios
Mariquita Linda” arises, composed by the
distinguished tacambarense Marcos A. Jiménez.
JIQUILPAN
CONOCID A COMO
“LA CIU D AD D E LAS JACARANDAS”,
J I Q U I LP A N SE L O C A L I Z A A MIL 550 METROS D E ALTURA SOBRE EL N IVEL DEL MAR.
KNOWN AS "THE CITY OF THE JACARANDAS", JIQUILPAN IS LOCATED AT
ONE THOUSAND 550 METERS ABOVE THE SEA LEVEL.
A 210 kilómetros de distancia de Morelia. Su nombre
es de origen náhuatl y significa “Lugar de Añil”, un
tono del color azul. Después de la conquista, llegaron
los evangelizadores franciscanos para reorganizar
la población en barrios y edificar el Templo y
Convento Franciscano. Ahí descubre un Cristo,
regalo del Rey Carlos V, a Fray Jacobo Daciano,
quien fue parte de la realeza de Dinamarca y llegó
como fraile de la Orden Franciscana en el siglo XVI.
At 210 km from Morelia. Its name has its origins in
náhuatl and means "Lugar de Añil” (an indigoplace) a
blue tone. After the conquest, the franciscan evangelizers arrived in order to reorganize the population in
neighborhoods and build the Temple and the
Franciscan Convent. There, discover a Christ, a gift
from king Charles V to brother Jacobo Daciano, who
was part of the royalty in Denmark and arrived as a
friar of the franciscan order in the XVI century.
Otros atractivos son el Templo del Sagrado Corazón
de color rosa en estilo neoclásico, descubre el mural
detrás del altar; así como la casa natal del General
Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, además de la singular
arquitectura de la “Casa de Piedra”, que fue casa de
descanso del General Lázaro Cárdenas, posteriormente Biblioteca Forestal y ahora el Centro Cerícola
donde se elabora el rebozo de seda. Está situada en
lo alto de una pequeña loma que es un mirador
panorámico de la ciudad y conoce los cuadros
hechos de mosaico esmaltado que le dan un singular
atractivo. No te puedes perder la Biblioteca Pública,
alojada en un viejo inmueble del siglo XIX que
anteriormente fue Santuario de la Virgen de Guadalupe. El interior está decorado con diez murales de
uno de los grandes muralistas de México, José
Clemente Orozco.
Other attractions are the temple of the Sacred Heart
of pink color in neoclassical style, discover the mural
behind the altar; as well as the birthplace of General
Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, in addition to the unique
architecture of the “Casa de Piedra” (stone house),
which was rest house of General Lázaro Cárdenas,
later Forestry Library, and now the Cericola Center
where the silk shawl is produced. It is located at the
top of a small hill that is a panoramic overlook of the
city and be familiar with the pictures made of glazed
tile that gives a singular attraction.
Asómbrate al descubrir la puerta: es una obra de
arte en madera, cubierta con una gruesa capa de
bronce donde aparecen esculpidas veintidós figuras
de Hombres Ilustres de América; fue hecha por el
escultor Guillermo Ruíz.
Be amazed to discover the door: it is a work of art in
wood, covered with a thick layer of bronze with
twenty two carved figures of distinguished men of
America; it was made by the sculptor Guillermo Ruíz.
You can't miss the Public Library, housed in an old
building from the XIX century which previously was
the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The interior
is decorated with ten murals of one of the greatest
mura- lists of Mexico, José Clemente Orozco.

A 17 kilómetros de Pátzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan te ofrece
una ventana al misterio de su origen indígena, fuerza
y raíz de Michoacán, visitando uno de los sitios
arqueológicos más conocidos en el Estado; son cinco
basamentos piramidales conocidos como YÁCATAS.
At 17 kilometres from Pátzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan offers
you a window to the mystery of its indigenous origin,
strength and root of Michoacán, visiting one of the
archaeological sites best known in the state; there
