Our first reading and Gospel today focus on forgiveness. Indeed, God is capable of forgiving any sin, whether it be
that of the sinful woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, or that of King David who had Uriah killed. Pope Francis has
identified himself as a sinner; each of us is as well. As we hear these readings, perhaps we can reflect on our own
sins in the light of God’s grace, and resolve to go to God with contrition in our hearts, that we too may be forgiven.

La Palabra bíblica de este decimoprimer domingo nos
viene a hablar de la Misericordia de Dios que perdona al
pecador arrepentido, representado en David, como escucharemos en la primera lectura y en la mujer, sin nombre, del
Evangelio. Esta misericordia de Dios se manifiesta en al
predilección de Cristo por los marginados.
Primera lectura: II Samuel 12, 7-10. 13
La palabra de Dios ha sido escrita para nuestra corrección.
Los crímenes de David no son alabados. Aunque era el
ungido del Señor, ha demostrado ser un hombre frágil, de
carne y hueso. Pero esa imagen tiene otra cara, el arrepentimiento profundo y sincero: “he pecado contra el Señor”.
Salmo Responsorial: Salmo 31, 1-2. 5. 7. 11
Perdona, Señor, mi culpa y mi pecado.
Segunda lectura: Gálatas 2, 16. 19-21
Se nos concede la justificación por la fe en Cristo Jesús,
no por la práctica de las obras de la Ley. La justificación
es una transformación de la persona y comunicación de
una nueva vida.
Evangelio: Lucas 7, 36- 8,3
El Señor es conocido como el Dios de la misericordia.
Jesús por ser la plena manifestación del amor del Padre, es
también, la plena comunicación del perdón de los pecados.

Es necesario bendecirte, Señor, porque eres Padre bueno
que nos amas, nos aceptas y nos perdonas gratuitamente.
Dichoso el que experimenta tu amor y tu misericordia,
Como David o la mujer sin nombre del evangelio de hoy.

A pesar de su condición limitada y su miseria sin fondo.
¡Qué asombroso beneficio el de tu amor por nosotros! ¡Qué
incomparable ternura y cariño nos has demostrado! Para

domingo del mes. Los padrinos deberán obtener una

That day, the Spanish Mass will be celebrated with
the 10:00 am Mass. There will be no 6:30am and
12:30 pm Masses. Only 2 Masses will be celebrated
8:00 am and 10:00 am.
On June 14, 2002, the United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops approved a Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The Diocese of
St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands requires all employees and volunteers to undergo VIRTUS training.

Funeral Masses at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral are held on the
designated day at 9:30 AM. If you would like a different time,
please contact the pastor. Viewings will not take place inside
the Cathedral and funerals are not generally held on weekends
(Saturdays and Sundays). Thank you for your cooperation.
WEDDING MASSES
Anyone wishing to have his or her wedding celebrated at Saints
Peter and Paul Cathedral must contact the Church Office six months
prior to the celebration by calling (340) 774-0201 or go to our
webpage at www.cathedralvi.com. The Sacrament of Matrimony
is generally celebrated on a Saturday between the hours of 11:00
AM and 3:00 PM. However, if you would like a different time for
your wedding, please contact the pastor. Saturday mornings are
reserved for cleaning and decorating the church.

PARISH REGISTRATION
All Parishioners 18 years and older are urged to register at the
Church Office. The Parish is often expected to provide proof
of Baptism, Confirmation, and other miscellaneous letters for
individuals. This service is more easily and speedily rendered if
the person is a registered, active and contributing member of
our parish.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptisms are generally held on the last Sunday of the month. Requests for a different date and time will be honoured to the extent
possible. Parents and sponsors who have not yet received the
required baptismal instruction are expected to do so by attending
our baptismal preparation program. Call the Parish Office well in
advance so that class arrangements can be made.
INTERESTED IN THE CATHOLIC FAITH?
All persons wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith are
invited to join the RCIA class. Practicing Catholics who want to
become more knowledgeable in the faith are also invited. The
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by
which people become members of the Roman Catholic Church.

RCIA CLASSES
Catechetical sessions for RCIA candidates are held every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm in the Church Office. Please call the

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Contact the priest 9-12 months in advance. A Wedding Handbook
is available from the Parish Office which provides the necessary
information on arranging for a marriage.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING/MINISTRY TO THE SICK
In an emergency, contact the parish at any time if you or a loved one are
hospitalized, or are confined to home or a nursing facility, to receive
the Eucharist and/or Anointing. Hospitals and healthcare facilities
no longer routingly inform churches when a parishioner is admitted.
DISCERNING A VOCATION?
Priesthood or Vocation as a Religious Sister or Brother. Those
considering entering the Priesthood or a religious vocation,

will be celebrated at 8:00 and 10:00 am to encourage maximum
participation in the festivities. Parishioners are encouraged to
‘wear the church polo or t-shirt’ to services on that day. The
casual wear will help promote the Cathedral and contribute to

designated day at 9:30 AM. If you would like a different time,
please contact the pastor. Viewings will not take place inside
the Cathedral and funerals are not generally held on weekends

WEDDING MASSES
Anyone wishing to have his or her wedding celebrated at Saints
Peter and Paul Cathedral must contact the Church Office six months
prior to the celebration by calling (340) 774-0201 or go to our
webpage at www.cathedralvi.com. The Sacrament of Matrimony
is generally celebrated on a Saturday between the hours of 11:00
AM and 3:00 PM. However, if you would like a different time for
your wedding, please contact the pastor. Saturday mornings are
reserved for cleaning and decorating the church.

PARISH REGISTRATION
All Parishioners 18 years and older are urged to register at the
Church Office. The Parish is often expected to provide proof
of Baptism, Confirmation, and other miscellaneous letters for
individuals. This service is more easily and speedily rendered if
the person is a registered, active and contributing member of
our parish.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptisms are generally held on the last Sunday of the month. Requests for a different date and time will be honoured to the extent
possible. Parents and sponsors who have not yet received the
required baptismal instruction are expected to do so by attending
our baptismal preparation program. Call the Parish Office well in
advance so that class arrangements can be made.
INTERESTED IN THE CATHOLIC FAITH?
All persons wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith are
invited to join the RCIA class. Practicing Catholics who want to
become more knowledgeable in the faith are also invited. The
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by
which people become members of the Roman Catholic Church.

Catechetical sessions for RCIA candidates are held every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm in the Church Office. Please call the

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Contact the priest 9-12 months in advance. A Wedding Handbook
is available from the Parish Office which provides the necessary
information on arranging for a marriage.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING/MINISTRY TO THE SICK
In an emergency, contact the parish at any time if you or a loved one are
hospitalized, or are confined to home or a nursing facility, to receive
the Eucharist and/or Anointing. Hospitals and healthcare facilities
no longer routingly inform churches when a parishioner is admitted.

La Palabra bíblica de este decimoprimer domingo nos
viene a hablar de la Misericordia de Dios que perdona al
pecador arrepentido, representado en David, como escucharemos en la primera lectura y en la mujer, sin nombre, del
Evangelio. Esta misericordia de Dios se manifiesta en al
predilección de Cristo por los marginados.
Primera lectura: II Samuel 12, 7-10. 13
La palabra de Dios ha sido escrita para nuestra corrección.
Los crímenes de David no son alabados. Aunque era el
ungido del Señor, ha demostrado ser un hombre frágil, de
carne y hueso. Pero esa imagen tiene otra cara, el arrepentimiento profundo y sincero: “he pecado contra el Señor”.

Se nos concede la justificación por la fe en Cristo Jesús,
