So I have finally finished it. It is kind of funny if you think about it. It took him 19 years to finish this
series and it took me 2 days to finish it. I could have finished it earlier if it weren't for the world cup.
Comics takes very little time to finish, kind of disappointing.
It is not much different from the anime series. I expected more difference like rebuild series I guess.
However, the ending is more different from the anime series and more detailed than End of
Evangelion.

I particularly didn't like the characters growth in the manga. Specially Shinji, his character growth is
very inconsistent. At least in the anime he was always a vulnerable character. I can understand his
mental breakdowns, his continuous downward spiraling. However in here he is not that weak. I
thought he would show some intent, some strength, like he showed in the 2nd movie in the rebuild
series. So it was rather disappointing to see that in the latter part of the manga his character
changed very abruptly and became exactly like the End of Evangelion. See this is the most
disappointing thing of this manga, while characters acts differently from their anime part in beginning
Volumes, in the end their characters changed abruptly and became same like in the anime.
On the other hand, most characters are more fleshed out, there past is explored more in depth. But
what I liked most was the exploration of some of the answered questions about nerv, seele, human
instrumentality project. Yes, some questions are still unanswered. This is the strength of the manga,
not the character growth. The anime is more of a character study (breakdown of Asuka was rather
mind-blowing, also more horrifying) neglecting the plot, While the manga's plot is more well
structured.
Another thing this manga series has done well is the ending which while the manga more or less
follow the path of the End of Evangelion, even though I didn't exactly like the way it was ended, it
was a proper ending. Unlike the anime series which had like a totally WTF ending and the alternate
ending in the End of Evangelion, although it was much better than the anime, that still left me

It's pretty clear that it took too long to finish this series and Sadamoto wanted to give its own touch
to how things evolved. But in the end, he failed miserably. The manga pretty much followed the
same lines as the anime bringing very little new stuff to the table.
Although it's weakness, the ending is much more clear on its meaning than the animation, without
loosing much of its philosophy. Which is great, since Anno was too worried to create surrea

To close everything up, the finals chapters are happier. Bringing the tone of the end to a much

cortos porque verdaderamente soy muy vago para andar comprando 50 o 60 tomos porque siempre
pierdo el interés a la mitad, lo cual me pasó con varias series.
Sin embargo esta serie en particular no pierde ritmo en ninguno de sus tomos y logró mantener mi
interés tomo a tomo. Tiene acción, drama, aventura, buenas escenas, tanto de humor como
dramáticas y unos personajes por demás profundos los cuales están

Vale aclarar que la serie la empecé el año pasado, asique no formo parte de los miles de fans
que la siguieron durante casi 20 años. Pero formo parte de los "fans" más recientes.

the book on this series. I've appreciated added details in the manga, as well as the art. Though the
popularity of various styles of art in manga have changed over the years, Sadamoto's style works
well today, for me. Though I wonder how difficult it is to maintain a consistent art style for 20 years,
for this manga anyway.

This is the end of the manga. And it is a far less cynical conclusion than we got with the anime. I've
really enjoyed reading these and seeing the plotting and characterization changes between the
original story told in the anime and the manga. That being said, this volume contains a basic remix
of the bulk of the navel-gazing from End of Evangelion. Interesting and subtle alterations but the
bones of the same tale are there.
