i. What: This event will provide summary of the activities carried out in Boyle Heights
through the Environmental Justice Compliance and Enforcement initiative in Los
Angeles.The initiative stems from a policy CalEPA created in June 2013 to
coordinate the compliance and enforcement work of its boards and departments in
areas that contain multiple sources of pollution and are disproportionately
vulnerable to the effects of pollution.

e. Boyle Heights will have elections this May to elect a new Neighborhood Council. Elections
will be held at the Boyle Heights City Hall on May 21, 2016. For more information and to

i. There is no citizenship requirement for Neighborhood Council elections. We
encourage all Boyle Heights residents to take advantage of this opportunity to

Upcoming Meetings [2 Minutes]
a. BHNC Board Meetings are every fourth Wednesday of the month in the Boyle Heights City
Hall Community Room. Next meeting is Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 6:30 PM. This will
be the last meeting. A new board will be elected in May and a new schedule may be
adopted.
b. PLUC Meetings are every second Tuesday of the month in the Benjamin Franklin Library.
Next meeting is Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6:30 PM. This will be the final PLUC meeting
until the election.
