FESTA DELLA DIVINA
MISERICORDIA
La festa della Misericordia
Occupa il posto più importante tra tutte le forme
di devozione alla Divina Misericordia che sono
state rivelate a Santa Faustina. Per la prima volta
Gesù le ha parlato dell'istituzione di questa festa
a Pock nel 1931, quando le trasmise la sua
volontà riguardo all'immagine: «Io desidero che
vi sia una festa della Misericordia. Voglio che
l'immagine, che dipingerai con il pennello, sia
solennemente benedetta nella prima domenica
dopo Pasqua; questa domenica deve essere la
festa della Misericordia» (Diario, 49).
Divine Mercy
The Divine Mercy, also known as the Divine
Mercy of Jesus, is a Roman Catholic devotion to
Jesus Christ associated with the reputed mystical
apparitions revealed to Saint Faustina Kowalska.
The Roman Catholic devotion and venerated
image under this Christological title refers to the
unlimited merciful love of God towards all
people.[1][2] The devotion is rooted in the
apparitions of Jesus reported by Sister Faustina
Kowalska, who was granted the title "Secretary of
Mercy" by the Holy See in the Jubilee Year of
2000.[3][4][5]
Sister Faustina Kowalska reported a number of
apparitions during religious ecstasy which she
wrote in her diary, later published as the book
Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul.[4][5] The three
main themes of the devotion are to ask for and
obtain the mercy of God, to trust in Christ's
abundant mercy, and finally to show mercy to
others and act as a conduit for God's mercy
towards them.[4][6]
Pope John Paul II had notable affinity towards
this devotion, being a native of Poland and
significantly authorizing the devotions in the
Liturgical Calendar of the Catholic Church. The
same Pontiff issued the Papal encyclical "Dives in
Misericordia" on 30 November 1980. The
liturgical feast of the Divine Mercy is celebrated
on the first Sunday after Easter, while some
members of the Anglican Communion also share
its pious beliefs and devotions in an effort
towards church renewal.[7]
La scelta della prima domenica dopo Pasqua per
la festa della Misericordia ha un suo profondo
significato teologico, che indica uno stretto
legame tra il mistero pasquale della Redenzione e
il mistero della Divina Misericordia. Questo
legame è sottolineato ulteriormente dalla Novena
alla Divina Misericordia, che precede la festa e
inizia il Venerdì Santo e durante la quale si recita
la Coroncina
La Divina Misericordia es una devoción cristiana
promovida por la Iglesia católica enfocada en la
misericordia de Dios y su poder, particularmente
como una acción de confianza en que la
misericordia de Dios y su pasión es el precio ya
pagado por nuestros pecados, y que si confiamos en
Jesús nuestros pecados nos serán perdonados; Jesús
no será nuestro juez sino nuestro Salvador
misericordioso.
Más que una mera devoción es un género de la vida
cristiana. Se expresa mediante actos interiores
(actitudes del alma respecto a la Misericordia del
Salvador y de la confianza en Dios) como
exteriores: la veneración de la imagen, la hora de la
misericordia, el rezo de determinadas oraciones (la
llamada Coronilla), la fiesta de la Divina
Misericordia y los actos de misericordia con el
prójimo.
