A Newsletter for Parents of Amesians March 23, 2016 Upcoming Activities and Announcements March 4-31: Exciting news for the AMES LoveUTGiveUT campaign for Thursday March 31: we have a $2000 matching donation! This means that our school community needs to raise at least the same amount to receive this generous donation. AMES, we can do it! The donation pledges are beginning to trickle in, but we need to have many more. Please share this link AMES LoveUTGiveUT with friends and family that you see over the school break so that we can be ready to go next Thursday on the 31st to raise major money for our great school! Remember, we need as many different donors as possible and even donations of $10 make a big difference. Thank you!! Stay tuned for more information on the AMES website and AMES PTSO and AMES Students and ALUMNI Facebook pages. o Para comunicar a la comunidad hispano-latina de nuestra escuela acerca de la recaudación de fondos para nuestra escuela AMES a traves del programa LoveUTGiveUT. Note from the Principal On May 14, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm on the 6th floor of the University of Utah stadium building, we will have an AMES Reunion Celebration! This is partially in honor of our ten-year anniversary of the first AMES graduating class (2006). All past AMES students and staff members are encouraged to attend. The committee putting this together includes Martha Taylor, Tim Dyson, Dr. Al Church, Holly Archer and Holly Monserret. They could use help in the planning and setup so feel free to contact them. For our seniors and their parents: The year is quickly coming to a close and we have sent out graduation in danger letters to let you know what needs to be completed by your student. Senior portfolio, physical education credits, health, and financial literacy seem to be the main topics that get put off. If your student is in a University of Utah class the drop date has come and gone which means they need to pass the class for University credit and for their high school credits. We do monitor how students are doing in these classes and any additional support you can provide is helpful.
