este lunes en el Palacio de las
Convenciones la XVI Convención y
Feria Internacional Informática 2016,
evento que en esta edición respalda
la idea de la informatización de las
sociedades como objetivo y temática
fundamental.
El acto de apertura estuvo presidido por Maimir Mesa Ramos, Ministro
de Comunicaciones de Cuba; el Dr. Malcom Johnson, Secretario General de la
Unión Internacional de Comunicaciones; el Sr. Rashid R. Ismailov, Viceministro de Comunicaciones y Medios de
Información de la Federación Rusa; el
Sr. Dmitry M. Alkhazov, Viceministro
de Comunicaciones y Medios de Información de la Federación Rusa y Wilfredo González Vidal, Viceministro de
Comunicaciones de Cuba y Presidente
Ejecutivo de la XVI Convención y Feria
Internacional Informática 2016.
Según el propio González Vidal,
“En este evento se han previsto desarrollar 13 congresos, 72 conferencias,
24 mesas redondas, 879 ponencias
registradas en el programa científico
y diversos talleres, entre otras actividades en las que participarán 81 ponentes extranjeros y 1500 delegados
de 30 países. La Feria Internacional
de Tecnologías está conformada por
73 stands, abarcando temas de la informática, las telecomunicaciones y la
automática”, afirmó.
A la XVI Convención y Feria Internacional Informática 2016 asisten 73
empresas y entidades, de ellas 39 extranjeras. De especial significación es
el stand central, de Cuba, que muestra
22 importantes proyectos del sector.
En el marco de la feria se realizará
el foro empresarial, con el objetivo de
lograr alianzas entre empresas nacionales y entidades internacionales interesadas en invertir en el sector tecnológico cubano.
El evento, organizado por el Ministerio de las Comunicaciones de Cuba,
supone una cobertura a la realización
de actividades temáticas de alto contenido científico y un espacio para la
exposición de los avances tecnológicos más relevantes en el campo de la
Informática, las Telecomunicaciones,
la Electrónica, los Equipos Médicos y
la Automática de Cuba y el mundo.
En esta ocasión la feria comercial
propone seis áreas temáticas principales: soluciones informáticas, telecomunicaciones, software, electrónica,
automática y equipos médicos.

PRESENTATIONS AND SEVERAL WORKSHOPS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE COURSE OF THE EVENT
Under the slogan “Connecting Societies”, the
16th Informatics 2016 International Convention
and Fair was inaugurated Monday at Havana’s
Intl. Convention Center, a new edition of this
event that backs up the idea of computerizing
societies as the main goal and theme to follow.
The opening ceremony was headed by Maimir Mesa Ramos, Cuba’s Minister of Communications; Dr. Malcom Johnson, Secretary General
of the International Communications League;
Mr. Rashid R. Ismailov, the Russian Federation’s
Deputy Minister of Communications and Media;
Mr. Dmitry M. Alkhazov, the Russian Federation’s Deputy Minister of Communications and
Media, and Wilfredo Gonzalez Vidal, Cuba’s Deputy Minister of Communications and Executive
Chairman of the 16th Informatics 2016 International Convention and Fair.
According to Gonzalez Vidal, “This year’s
program includes 13 congresses, 72 lectures, 24
roundtables, 879 presentations in the scientific
program and several workshops, among other
activities that will be attended by 81 foreign
speakers and 1,500 delegates from 30 countries.
The International Technologies Fair is made up
of 73 booths, all in all comprising topics related
to information technology, telecommunications
and automation,” he detailed.
The 16th Informatics 2016 International Convention and Fair is attended by 73 companies
and entities, 39 of which have come from overseas. The central stand, Cuba’s, showcases 22
important projects within the sector.
A business forum is scheduled to be carried
out within the framework of the fair, aimed at
establishing alliances between national companies and international entities interested in investing in the Cuban technological sector.
The event, organized by Cuba’s Ministry of
Communications, is a platform to hold themed
activities of high scientific content, as well as a
space to put the most outstanding developments
in the fields of IT, Telecommunications, Electronics, Medical Equipment and Automation of both
Cuba and the world right on the map.
In this year’s edition, the tradeshow proposes half a dozen themed areas: IT solutions,
telecommunications, software, electronics, automation and medical equipment.

la XVI Edición de la Convención y Feria
Internacional Informática 2016.
Acontecido en el recinto ferial Pabexpo, el acto contó además con la
presencia de Maimir Mesa Ramos, ministro de Comunicaciones de Cuba, y
de los Héroes de la República de Cuba
Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández,
René González y Fernando González.
También prestigiaron la apertura
del evento importantes directivos y
personalidades del mundo informático, como Buhle Mkhize Hlengiwe,
viceministra de Tecnologías de Información y las Comunicaciones de la República de Sudáfrica, y Wong Chong,
vicedirector general del Buró de Información y Tecnología de la Administración del Ciberespacio de la República
Popular China.
Las palabras inaugurales estuvieron a cargo de Grisel Reyes León, presidenta del Grupo Empresarial de la
Informática y las Comunicaciones de
Cuba, quien señaló que “esta edición
marcará un punto importante en el
camino tecnológico de nuestro país”.
Aplicaciones informáticas, soluciones de infraestructura para la informatización, convenios y exhibición
de nuevas tecnologías en la esfera del
software y hardware son algunas de
las propuestas expositivas de esta
feria, que cuenta con un total de 73
expositores, entre cubanos y extranjeros, y más de 46 empresas participantes como Huawei, Karpesky, ETECSA y
Segurmática.
En el caso de los expositores nacionales, a lo largo del evento exhibirán
una veintena de proyectos asociados
a las Tecnologías de la Información y
la Comunicación (TIC). Además, el programa incluye un foro empresarial que,
a partir de conferencias y reuniones de
negocio, facilitará la comunicación entre empresas foráneas y cubanas.
Por otra parte, el Palacio de las
Convenciones es sede para los intercambios teóricos del encuentro, que
comprende más de una decena de actividades científicas, así como conferencias y paneles que propiciarán el
intercambio entre instituciones especializadas en el perfil.
The 16th edition of Informatics 2016 International Convention and Fair kicked off with the issuance of post stamps by Wilfredo Gonzalez Vidal,
Cuba’s Deputy Minister of Communications,
and Rashid R. Ismailov, the Russian Federation’s
Deputy Minister of Communications and Media.
The ceremony took place at the Pabexpo fairgrounds and was also attended by Maimir Mesa
Ramos, Cuba’s Minister of Communications, and
the heroes of the Republic of Cuba Ramon Labañino, Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez and
Fernando Gonzalez.
The opening ceremony was also honored
by the presence of outstanding executives and
boldface names from the informatics world,
such as Buhle Mkhize Hlengiwe, South Africa’s
Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technologies, and Wong Chong, Assistant
General Manager of Information and Technology
within the Cyberspace Management Division of
the People’s Republic of China.
The keynote speech was delivered by Grisel
Reyes Leon, President of Cuba’s Informatics and
Communications Entrepreneurial Group, who underlined that “this edition will mark a milestone
in the technological development of our country.”
Computer applications, computerizationaimed infrastructure solutions, agreements and
exhibit of cutting-edge technologies in the realm
of software and hardware, are some of the exhibition proposals in this fair, thanks in fact to the 73
exhibitors, both Cuban and foreigners, and over
46 companies, such as Huawei, Karpesky, ETECSA
and Segurmática, that are in attendance.
As far as national exhibitors are concerned,
some twenty projects related to ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) are going to be displayed throughout the event. Furthermore, the scheduled program includes a
Business Forum that, by means of lectures and
business meetings, will foster communication
between foreign and Cuban companies.
On the other hand, Havana’s Intl. Convention
Center is set to host the events’ theoretical exchanges, which comprises over ten scientific activities, as well as lectures and panels that favor
ties among institutions specialized in this profile.

Sociedad Cubana” fue el título de
la Mesa Redonda que, moderada
por el Dr. Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella,
Viceministro de Comunicaciones de
Cuba, constituyó la primera actividad
del programa científico de la XVI Convención y Feria Internacional Informática 2016.
Funcionarios pertenecientes a diferentes esferas estatales del país fungieron como panelistas en la cita, quienes
disertaron acerca del empleo de las tecnologías en sus respectivos sectores.
En la esfera bancaria, señaló Alberto Quiñones, director general de Ser-
vicios Informáticos
del Banco Central
de Cuba, “el uso de
la informática ha
dado lugar a positivos cambios que
agilizan las transacciones y demás servicios ofrecidos al
público y que, entre
sus proyectos futuros, está la banca
móvil y el dinero
electrónico”.
Por otra parte,
la esfera educacional también se ha
nutrido con el uso de las tecnologías,
dado que facilita el acceso a la información y la sistematización de los
estudios a partir de software educativos. Sobre este tema disertaron Rolando F. Rodríguez, Viceministro de
Educación y Walter B. García, director
de Informatización del Ministerio de
Educación Superior.
Otros campos como la Salud Pública y la cultura también fueron protagonistas de este encuentro, que puso en
primer plano la concepción propia en el
uso de la informatización para el desarrollo económico y social de Cuba.

was the title of the Roundtable, moderated by
Dr. Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, Cuba’s Deputy
Minister of Communications, that cracked open
the scientific program of the 16th Informatics
2016 International Convention and Fair.
Officials from different public sectors of
the country served as panelists in this opening
event as they talked about the use of technologies in their respective sectors.
In the banking sector, Alberto Quiñones, General Manager of IT Services with the Central Bank
of Cuba, pointed out that “the use of informatics
has brought about positive changes that speed up
transactions and other services provided to the
people and, among the future projects, the institution has mobile banking and e-money in the offing.”
On the other hand, the educational field
has made good use of technologies that make
it easier for professors and students to have access to information and the systematization of
research studies by means of educational software. This topic was tackled by Rolando F. Rodriguez, Deputy Minister of Education, and Walter
B. Garcia, Director of Computerization with the
Ministry of Higher Education.
Such fields as Public Healthcare and Culture
also played a leading role in this meeting, which
homed in on particular conceptions as far as the
use of computerization for Cuba’s economic and
social development is concerned.

DESCRIPCIÓN: Orión es un motor de búsqueda web que facilita el acceso
de los usuarios a los datos publicados en una red permitiendo satisfacer
sus necesidades de información. El buscador está compuesto por tres
componentes que en su conjunto brindan las funcionalidades de búsqueda
general y avanzada de documentos, textos e imágenes.

DESCRIPTION: Nova is the GNU/Linux Cuban Distribution and is oriented
