First Sunday of Lent
LITURGY OF THE WORD
Ss. Peter & Paul Cathedral
First Reading: (Deuteronomy 26:4-10) The Lenten fast, like the Exodus, leads to a land flowing with milk and honey.
Responsorial Psalm: (Psalm 91:1-2, 10-15) “Be With Me, Lord, When I Am In Trouble.”
Second Reading: (Romans 10:8-13) The journey of faith is open to all.
Gospel: (Luke 4:1-13) The fast can be a sign that we live on more than bread.
In Today’s first reading we will hear Moses admonishing the Israelites to recall all that God has done for them
when they bring their offering to the Lord. Saint Paul adds that “no one who believes in him will be put to
shame.” And Jesus, at the end of his desert experience, is ready to encounter the devil and his temptations. Let us
now listen and allow these scriptures to prepare us for our Lenten encounter with God this year.

Primer Domingo de Cuaresma. Ciclo C
ENTRADA
cercanía enviándonos a Cristo. Éste es el camino
ofrecido generosamente para salvarse.
Evangelio: Lucas 4, 1-13
No deje pasar
esta oportunidad.
Legion de María: La Legión de María te espera. Asiste

cercanía enviándonos a Cristo. Éste es el camino
ofrecido generosamente para salvarse.
Evangelio: Lucas 4, 1-13
No deje pasar
esta oportunidad.
Legion de María: La Legión de María te espera. Asiste

for the students. The appeal also helps in the formation of our
seminarians and evangelization efforts. Please take home the
brochure and pray about what sacrificial gift you can give to
this worthwhile cause. For your convenience, you may choose

First Sunday of Lent
LITURGY OF THE WORD
