Message from the Head
Every Monday, our teachers arrive ready to deliver creative, well-thought out, planned in detail and fun lessons.
Students arrive hoping to learn, but learn by enjoying themselves. It is pleasing to see so many creative lessons taking
place at TBSC, engaged students who are well on their way to being lifelong learners. Below are just a few examples.
Ms. Achtymichuk helped her Year 13 students differentiate y=xln√x using both the product and chain rule. Mrs Barjolin
and Mr Booth took students in Year 2 to learn about insects, creatures and animals. Year 4 delivered a great assembly
about the human body - did you know that you cannot tickle yourself?
Mr Hazlewood’s class have been looking at World War One and Pre-School students remembered the soldiers who
died in the war by colouring poppies. Mr Muñoz’ Year 12 class looked at the power of language through literature, Ms
Rodrigues’ Year 8 learned about the past tense in French and Mr Zeshan’s Year 9 Science students looked at glucose
in leaves - did you know that many people think that if you lie under a tree, you would die from a lack of oxygen? Is that
true or an urban legend?
Ms Brito was helping Pre-School with singing and understanding beats, Ms. Shelley’s class counted numbers by using
a website and Mrs Rodriguez’ Year 4 students looked at sentence structure in Spanish. Ms. Curry’s Year 7 French
class looked at countries and capitals.

meet on Tuesday December 8th at 6:30 pm in the school's
Secondary library. Refreshments (and wine!) will be served
and everyone is welcome.
According to Bookrags:
"First published in 1984 in both Paris and New York, Milan
Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being is a rich and
complicated novel that is at once a love story, a
metaphysical treatise, a political commentary, a
psychological study, a lesson on kitsch, a musical
composition in words, an aesthetic exploration, and a
meditation on human existence..."
