Expodefensa is the specialized trade fair and scenario
of reference for the countries of the Andean Region,
Central America and the Caribbean in terms of
technological development and innovation for defense
and security.
An exhibition of the most innovative developments of
the industry, where exhibitors are able to position their
brands, establish qualified business contacts, and
promote their products, equipment and services

General Jose Javier Perez Mejia, and the Executive President of CORFERIAS, Dr. Andres Lopez
Valderrama who gave declarations to the media about the present and the future of Expodefensa, as
well as some details of interest of the Defense and Security Industry.
Inauguration Ceremony

Presided by the Minister of National Defense of Colombia, Juan Carlos Pinzon, the Vice Minister
for the Social & Business Group for the Defense Sector and Welfare, General Jose Javier Perez
Mejia, the Vice President of Planning and Corporate Affairs of Corferias, Dr. Mario Cajiao and the
Commanding Offices of the Public Forces, who welcomed the exhibitors and the invited
international delegations.
The guests of the event witnessed a rescue demonstration performed by the Special Forces
before the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, presided by the Minister of Defense, who officially opened
the commercial exhibition and visited the pavilions.

The National Museum of Colombia was the setting for the cocktail that was presided
by the Vice Minister for the Social & Business Group for the Defense Sector and
Welfare, General Jose Javier Perez Mejia and the Vice President of Planning and
Corporate Affairs of CORFERIAS, Dr. Mario Cajiao, who officially welcomed the
exhibitors, Official Delegates and special guests to Expodefensa IV.
II Latin American Congress on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems UNVEX AMERICAS
October 29th and 30th, 2014
The second edition of UNVEX AMERICAS, a market-oriented professional meeting
space that aims to help promote the knowledge and application of remotely piloted
systems, took place within the framework of Expodefensa. The congress featured the
participation of speakers that are involved in the highest level of the development of
these technologies in Colombia and worldwide.
