Severe Weather
School closing decisions are made by administrative staff with the safety of students in mind. In a
situation where school remains open, parents may choose not to send their children to school.
Adverse weather conditions and other emergency situations may make it necessary to cancel school.
In the event of a school closing, an announcement will be made by text message and email through
the Knexis communication system and local radio and television stations.

Las decisions de cerrar la escuela son hechas por personal administrativo, teniendo en cuenta la

The Potter’s House High School Freshmen (class of 2019)
You have a once in a lifetime opportunity! We’ve been invited to stay at Gainey Ranch near Glen,
Montana this July (8th-16th). This trip will include activities at the ranch, visits to some of the most
beautiful locations in the United States, and quality time with friends and classmates. The trip may
include the following: A trip to the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Shoshone National Forest, Yellowstone
National Park, and whitewater rafting. The cost of the trip is $300 per student. Payment dates are
below:
• Deposit 1: $50 Due 2/18/16
• Deposit 2: $125 Due 3/25/16
• Final Payment: $125 Due 4/29/16
Students have been given the application and it’s also available on iNow. EVERY freshman must get
it signed by a parent or guardian. The application is due to Curtis DePree by February 8, 2016. Email

Winter Parent/Teacher Conferences
Winter conferences will be held February 9-11, 2016. Conferences are mandatory, and school will be
in session regular hours on conference days. Students may not attend winter conferences. 8th Grade
Babysitting will be available on Tuesday, February 9, and Thursday, February 11, only in the worship
room for donation. This is a Washington D.C. trip fundraiser.
Pre-K conferences ONLY are Monday, February 8, 4:00-6:00 p.m., and there is no Pre-K on
Thursday, February 11.
Young 5-12th grade conferences will be held:
• Tuesday, February 9, 6-8:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, February 10, 2-5:00 p.m.
• Thursday, February 11, 4-7:00 p.m.
• Friday and Monday, February 12 and 15, NO SCHOOL-Winter Break
Conferencias de Invierno entre Padres y Profesores
Conferencias Padres/Maestros se llevará a cabo los dias 9-11 de febrero de 2016. Las Conferencias
son obligatorias. La escuela estará en sesión durante horas regulares en los días de la conferencia.

Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment For Current Families
Applications for Pre-Kindergarten enrollment (new students only) for current families are now
available in the admissions office. Please contact Tami Ortiz at (616) 988-6310 if you have any
questions about enrolling a student in the Pre-Kindergarten the fall of 2016. The deadline for
submitting applications will be Friday, February 12, 2016. After that date, current family priority will not
be considered. Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2016 to enroll in Pre-Kindergarten.

Las aplicaciones de inscripcion para familias actuales, (para nuevos estudiantes de PreKindergarten), estan ahora en la oficina de admisiones. Por favor, contacte a Tami Ortiz al (616) 9886310 si tiene alguna pregunta sobre la registracion de un estudiante para Pre-Kindergarten en el
otono de 2016. El ultimo dia para entregar la aplicacion sera el Viernes 12 de febrero del 2016.
Despues de esa fecha, su familia no sera considerada con prioridad. Los niños deben tener 4 años
antes de Septiembre 1 del 2016 para ser admitido en Pre-Kindergarten.
Church Christian Education Scholarships
Many TPH families attend churches that have Christian Education Funds for scholarships. These
scholarships are available to families who send their children to Christian Schools. If your church has
a Christian Education Fund, please apply for scholarship assistance. Scholarships will help cover the
remaining tuition balance that The Potter's House needs to raise for its students.
Many churches have a March 31 application deadline so don’t delay! If there is an application fee,
bring documentation to the Business office and The Potter's House will refund the fee. Church
scholarships will not affect your TPH tuition. If you have questions regarding this, please contact
Sandra Gardner in the Business Office at 616.988.6310.
Becas para la Educación Cristiana
Muchas familias de TPH asisten a iglesias que tienen becas para ayudar a promover la educación
cristiana. Estas becas son asequibles a familias que mandan a sus hijos a escuelas cristianas. Si su
iglesia tiene fondos designados a este fin, por favor, haga solicitud para recibir tal ayuda. Las becas
le ayudarán a cubrir el balance para la matrícula que TPH tiene que levantar para sus estudiantes.
Muchas iglesias tienen la fecha de 3l de marzo como la última fecha para hacer solicitud. Así que ¡no
demorren! Si hay gastos para presentar la solicitud, traiga la documentación a la Oficina de Negocios
