godparents in the Spanish-speaking world.
Ask them to share what they see as the
benefits and the drawbacks of having
godparents. Instruct them to write a short
essay that either defends or critiques this
tradition, giving ample reasons to support
their opinions.
Peer-study Support Have students read the
Lectura in pairs and to highlight the most
important information in it. They should
generate a list of notes to help them respond
to the questions. If their notes don’t include
the answers to the questions, they should
help each other locate the information in the
