REGISTRATION OPEN: CONFERENCE ON FEMALE AGENCY,
MOBILITY AND SOCIO-CULTURAL CHANGE. UNITED NATIONS
UNIVERSITY.
Registration for our conference on ‘Female Agency, Mobility and Socio-cultural
Change’, to be held on June 11th- 12th in Barcelona, is now open. This
conference will examine topics such as female agency, diasporas and
transnationalism, labour and decent work, processes of identity construction,
the sociocultural reconstruction of home, work and urban spaces and policy
responses to female mobilites. In addition to keynote lectures by leading
scholars of gender and mobility and panel presentations on a range of topics,
the conference will feature a photographic exhibition, a collaborative event with
the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) and a collaboration

El Centre Dona i Literatura coorganiza las III Jornadas "Diálogos
transatlánticos: redes intelectuales y literarias", coordinadas por Isabel Clúa,
Alba del Pozo (Centre Dona i Literatura), Beatriz Ferrús y Fernanda
Bustamente (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), con el objetivo de reflexionar
sobre las relaciones transnacionales entre España y las Américas desde una
perspectiva de género. Se analizará el surgimiento de redes intelectuales entre
las mujeres en el ámbito de la creación y las producciones artísticas derivadas.
Intervendrán, entre otras, Cristina Alsina, investigadora del Centre Dona i
Literatura, Dolores Romero López (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), Lucía
Cotarelo (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), Lorena Amaro (Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Chile), Dunia Gras (Universitat de Barcelona),
Constanza Ternicier (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), Maikel Colón

Está abierto el Call for Papers para el 9º volumen de Cuadernos de la Igualdad.
El tema de este volumen será las asociaciones de mujeres y/o los movimientos
feministas.

Cuadernos de la Igualdad es una iniciativa del Observatorio de la Igualdad de
la Universitat Rovira i Virgili que sirve para difundir la actividad investigadora en
materia de políticas de igualdad por razón de género. Aspira a facilitar a la
comunidad académica y científica una nueva herramienta al servicio de la
transferencia de conocimiento sobre mujeres y feminismo. En este número se
admitirán artículos que analizan la historia de las asociaciones de mujeres, la
relación del movimiento feminista y las asociaciones de mujeres así como el
estudio de la influencia de las asociaciones de mujeres y/o movimientos
feministas en el impulso y la implementación de políticas de igualdad por razón
de género.
El plazo para enviar los artículos finaliza el 30 de junio.

SEMINARIO: MASCULINIDADES Y TEORÍA DE LOS AFECTOS
Todd Reeser, director del Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Program en
la University of Pittsburgh, impartirá el seminario "Theorizing Affective
Masculinities". Aplicando el enfoque teórico de Deleuze, Guattari y Massumi a
ejemplos de la cultura popular, Reeser mostrará como el afecto, en cuanto prelingüístico, puede desestabilizar el modelo normativo y hegemónico de la
masculinidad. Todd Reeser es autor de Masculinities in Theory (2010); "Entre
hommes": French and Francophone Masculinities in Theory and Culture
(2008); y Moderating Masculinity in Early Modern Culture (2006). El seminario
será en inglés y el acto se enmarca dentro del proyecto de investigación
"Homes de ficció: cap a una història de la masculinitat a través de la literatura i
el cinema dels Estats Units, segles XX i XXI".
