Reading about the faith of
the early Christian believers can be
a real inspiration to those of us who
have been Christians for a long
time, as well as for those who are
newly baptized. Can you imagine
people of this world being “of one heart and mind” as
was the first community of believers? Today’s First
Letter of John seems to hold the key to how this can be
accomplished. Keeping God’s commandments and
loving all of God’s children seems to be the start of
being “of one heart and mind.” We live in a world that
stresses differences—differences among religions,
among races, between genders, and among economic
classes. Today we are summoned to focus on what we
all share in common on this fragile planet of ours.

~Religious Education News~
On Saturday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m., there will be
First Penance for the children in the Religious
Education Program. The practice for first communion
will follow immediately after First Penance.
On Sunday, May 3, at 12:30 p.m., there will be First
Holy Communion for the children from both St. Peter
the Apostle School and the Religious Education
Program.
~Reflection~
Easter changes everything. Listen carefully to
today’s Gospel passage, and notice the fact that this
account includes Jesus breathing on his disciples. The
same Greek word for breathing used in this passage also
appears at the very beginning of the Bible. There, in
Genesis, the Lord God breathes upon Adam, giving him
life. In the Gospel passage, through this act of breathing
on the disciples, the risen Jesus gives them new life.
What does new life in the resurrected Christ look like?
We need only look at the first reading to discover what a
community of believers acts like
when its members are living lives
in the risen Christ. As we prepare
to listen to the scriptures, let us
pray that the breath of God will
fill us with new life and help us
live like the early Christian
communities, when there was no
needy person among them.

ST. PETER THE APOSTLE SCHOOL
2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR
Reregistration for St. Peter the
Apostle School began on April 1, 2015
through the TADS tuition agency. Your
children must be registered by April 30, 2015.
If your 2014-2015 tuition payments
are current, you may be eligible for an early
registration grant of $150.00 per family. This
allowance will be applied toward your
$100.00 registration and $50.00 deposit fees.
The grant will be available on a first-comefirst-serve basis. To qualify, this year’s
tuition must be current, your child must be
registered by April 30, 2015, and tuition
payments for the new academic year must be
up-to-date throughout the summer. If you
have any questions, please call Sister Rose, at

que leemos hoy es la clave que nos dice cómo podemos
lograrlo. Si guardamos los mandamientos de Dios y si
amamos a todos los hijos de Dios parece ser la base de
poder tener un “un solo corazón y una sola alma”.
Vivimos en un mundo que recalca las diferencias –ya
sean entre religiones, razas, géneros y clases. Hoy se
nos pide que nos enfoquemos en lo que tenemos en
común en este frágil planeta que ocupamos.

matrícula
para
estudiantes
corrientes de la Escuela San Pedro el Apóstol
comenzó el 1 de Abril del 2015 a través de la
agencia de matrícula TADS. Sus hijos deben
estar matriculados antes del 30 de Abril del
2015.
Si sus pagos de matrícula del 20142015 están al corriente, usted puede ser
elegible para una beca de matrícula anticipada
de $150.00 por familia. Este subsidio se
aplicará hacia su cuota de matrícula de $100.00
y su depósito de $50.00. El subsidio estará
disponible y basado en orden de llegada. Para
calificar, la matrícula de este año debe estar al
corriente, su hijo debe estar matriculado antes
del 30 de Abril del 2015 y los pagos de
matrícula para el nuevo año académico debe

~Reflexión~
La Pascua lo cambia todo. Escuchen con atención
el pasaje del Evangelio de hoy y fíjense en el hecho de que
este relato incluye que Jesús sopló sobre sus discípulos. La
misma palabra griega de soplar usada en este pasaje
aparece también al mero comienzo de la Biblia. Ahí, en el
libro del Génesis, el Señor Dios sopla sobre Adán para
darle la vida. En el pasaje del Evangelio, mediante esta
acción de soplar sobre los discípulos, Jesús resucitado les
da una vida nueva. ¿Cómo luce una vida nueva en Cristo
resucitado? Lo único que tenemos que hacer es escuchar la
primera lectura para descubrir cómo luce una comunidad
de creyentes, cuyos miembros viven en Cristo resucitado.
