Familiar Commands (Imperativo familiar)
When you tell someone to do something, you are using a command. We use the tú
commands when we are speaking with our friends and family.

The regular tú commands are the same forms that we use for él, ella, and Usted
in the present tense.
Notice that the negative tú command takes the same form as the Usted
command ending with an –s.

Object pronouns are attached to the end of the tú affirmative commands.
o AFFIRMATIVE = ATTACHED
o If the attached pronoun adds two or more syllables to the command, then
an accent is needed.
Estúdialas, por favor.
Study them, please.

If the tú command is negative, then the object pronoun will come BEFORE the
verb.
No las estudies, por favor.
Don´t study them, please.
Make the command opposite. If the command is negative, make it affirmative. If the command
is affirmative, make it negative.
1. ¡No escribas dos cartas!
___________________dos cartas.
2. Habla con la profesora.
¡___________________con la profesora!
3. Paga en la caja.
¡___________________en la caja!
4. ¡No sirvas las pasteles!
____________________las pasteles.
5. Juega al béisbol.
¡___________________al béisbol!
6. Devuelve los libros ahora.
¡__________________los libros ahora.
7. ¡No pierdas mis anteojos de sol!
__________________mis anteojos de sol.
8. Estudia para el examen de español.

9. ¡No escuches al radio!
