Let me use this well-known story as
introduction for our 2015 Guidebook and
Directory.
Once upon a time there lived six blind men in a village.
One day the villagers told them, “Hey, there is an
elephant in the village today.” They had no idea what
an elephant was. They decided, “Even though we would
not be able to see it, let us go and feel it anyway.” All
of them went to where the elephant was. Every one of them touched the
elephant.
“Hey, the elephant is a pillar,” said the first man, who touched his leg. “Oh,
no! It is like a rope,” said the second man, who touched the tail. “Oh, no!
it is like a thick branch of a tree,” said the third man, who touched the
trunk of the elephant. “It is like a big hand fan” said the fourth man, who
touched the ear of the elephant. “It is like a huge wall,” said the fifth man,
who touched the belly of the elephant. “It is like a solid pipe,” said the
sixth man, who touched the tusk of the elephant.
They began to argue about the elephant and every one of them insisted
that he was right. It looked like they were getting agitated. A wise man was
passing by and he saw this. He stopped and asked them, “What is the matter?”
They said, “We cannot agree as to what the elephant is like.” Each one of them
told what he thought the elephant was like. The wise man calmly explained to
them, “All of you are right. The reason every one of you is telling it differently
is because each one of you touched a different part of the elephant. So,
actually the elephant has all those features that you all said.” “Oh!” everyone
said. There was no more fighting. They felt happy that they were all right.

Permítanme usar esta conocida historia como introducción

Érase una vez seis hombres sabios que vivían en una pequeña aldea. Los seis sabios
eran ciegos. Un día alguien llevó un elefante a la aldea. Los seis sabios buscaban la

equivocados”, dijo el tercer hombre. “El elefante es como una soga”. Éste le
había examinado la cola. Justamente entonces el cuarto hombre que examinaba
los finos colmillos, habló: “El elefante es como una lanza”. “No, no”, gritó el
quinto hombre. “Él es como un alto muro”, había estado palpando el costado
del elefante. El sexto hombre tenía cogida la trompa del elefante. “Estáis todos
equivocados”, dijo. “El elefante es como una serpiente”. “Estáis equivocados”.
“Estoy en lo cierto”. Los seis hombres se ensalzaron en una interminable
discusión durante horas sin ponerse de acuerdo sobre cómo era el elefante.
Esos hombres estaban inmersos en un conflicto basado en la percepción
(lo que creían “ver”). Afortunadamente su conflicto no tuvo un final
violento. El conflicto es tan viejo como la historia misma. El ser humano
siempre ha intentado conocer su mundo y comunicarse con los demás.
Aunque esto no es fácil ya que no todas las personas ven los problemas de
la misma forma.

Altar Servers/Monaguillos: The primary role of the altar server is
to assist the priest and deacon as necessary in the celebration of the
Eucharist. Servers carry the cross, the processional candle(s), the
incense, hold the liturgy book, present the bread, wine, and water to the
priest, and wash his hands./El rol principal del monaguillo es ayudar al

extraordinary minister is prepared to distribute Holy Communion,
either within Mass or by taking it to a sick person, when an ordained

setting for the appropriate seasons of the liturgical calendar. They
also arrange the flowers every week and the decoration for Easter and

Nocturnal Adoration Society/Adoracion Nocturna: Gives all the
opportunity to spend a night a month in the presence of God, giving
praise and worship to our creator. It takes place the 4th Saturday of
every month from 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m./Ofrece a todos la oportunidad

Legion Of Mary/Legion de Maria: The object of the Legion of Mary
is to glorify God through the holiness of its members through prayer
and active co-operation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. Members
of the Legion of Mary become instruments of the Holy Spirit through
a balanced program of prayer and service in a family atmosphere./

Marian Group/Grupo Mariano: Founded in 2005, this group prays
and meditates on the mysteries of the Rosary as a means to worshiping
our Lord Jesus and venerating our Mother, the Blessed Virgin.
They also visit the sick and teach how to pray the rosary. Meets on

Gardening Angels-Popsicles/Guardianes del Jardin-Paletas:
They take care of the green areas and landscape of the parish. Every
Saturday they come together to enhance the appearance of the
gardens. This group collects funds for their work from the popsicles
sales after Mass./Ellos se encargan de las áreas verdes y jardines de

Homebound Communion/Comunión en el Hogar: Allows
parishioners who are unable to attend Mass to receive the Body of
Christ. Also, they serve as a link informing homebound people about

technological and technical affairs and needs of the parish, providing

and securing a family-oriented celebration during parish festivities

Seniors Ministry/Ministerio de Adultos mayores: Every First
Friday of the Month, beginning with Mass at 9:00 a.m., this group
