OVERVIEW
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is developing the design for a roadway widening and reconstruction
project along SR 997/Krome Avenue from south of SW 184 Street to south of SW 136 Street, in Miami-Dade County.
PROJECT DETAILS
 Reconstruction and widening of Krome Avenue from a
two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway divided by a
40-ft grassed median
 Provide a drainage system
 Provide lighting along the length of the project
 Install a guardrail in the median along the length of the
project
 Provide adequate access management and improve
traffic operations throughout the corridor
PROJECT DATES
Construction is expected to begin in September 2018 and
last about 22 months.
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST
$22 million
POSSIBLE EFFECTS DURING CONSTRUCTION
Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of
construction on the community.
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
The MOT will be designed to minimize adverse impacts to
local residents and businesses during construction. The
MOT is based on phased construction of the roadway while
maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction on Krome
Avenue open at all times. Delineators will be installed in
between opposing lanes for safety during construction.
Access to all properties along Krome Avenue will be
maintained at all times during construction.

RESUMEN
El Departamento de Transporte de la Florida (FDOT) está desarrollando el diseño para un proyecto de ampliación y reconstrucción
a lo largo de la SR 997/Avenida Krome, desde el sur de la calle 184 del suroeste hasta el sur de la calle 136 del suroeste en el
condado de Miami-Dade.
DETALLES DEL PROYECTO
POSIBLES EFECTOS DE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN

El trabajo se hará en fases para reducir los efectos de la
construcción en la comunidad.




Reconstrucción y ampliación de Krome Avenue, de una
carretera de dos carriles a una carretera de cuatro carriles
dividida por una mediana de césped de 40 pies
Instalar un sistema de drenaje
Instalar alumbrado público a lo largo de la zona del
proyecto
Instalar una barrera de protección en la mediana a lo
largo de la zona del proyecto
Instalar un sistema de gestión de acceso adecuado y
mejorar las operaciones de tráfico a lo largo del corredor
PROGRAMACIÓN DEL PROYECTO
Se espera que la construcción comience en septiembre del
2018 y dure aproximadamente 22 meses.
COSTO ESTIMADO DE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN
$22 millones
MANTENIMIENTO DEL TRÁFICO
El plan de mantenimiento del tráfico será diseñado para
minimizar los efectos adversos a los residentes y negocios
durante la construcción. El trabajo se hará en fases,
manteniendo un carril abierto en cada dirección a lo largo de
Krome Avenue. Se instalarán delineadores entre los carriles
opuestos para mayor seguridad durante la construcción. Se
mantendrá el acceso a todas las propiedades a lo largo de
Krome Avenue en todo momento.
