Dear Parents and Guardians:
The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) will be given on Wednesday October 14, 2015
during the school day at the high school. Taking the PSAT is a significant first step on a
student’s road to college. This exam, given by The College Board, will familiarize the students
with the SAT, the most widely used college entrance exam.
The fee for the 2015 PSAT/NMSQT is $23. Registration for the PSAT will be from now
through September 20th. Please register and pay for your exam online through Total

It is highly recommended that all tenth and eleventh grade students take the PSAT. The
PSAT/NMSQT provides several benefits, including the opportunity to compete for scholarships.
Eligible juniors will be automatically entered into scholarship and recognition competitions.
The best way your child can prepare for this test is to get a good night’s sleep and to eat
breakfast prior to the exam. He or she should bring two sharpened #2 pencils and, if available, a
scientific or graphing calculator. In the days before the exam, English and Math teachers will
familiarize students with the types of questions they will encounter on the PSAT and with
valuable test-taking strategies.

Este año, el PSAT (Examen preliminar de aptitud escolar) será dado el miércoles 14 de octubre
del 2015. Tomar el PSAT es un paso sumamente importante para el futuro universitario del
estudiante. Este examen, dado por el College Board, familiarizará a los estudiantes con el SAT,
el examen de ingreso más utilizado por universidades.
El costo para el examen PSAT 2015/NMSQT es $23.00. La matrícula para el examen PSAT

Es muy recomendable que todos los estudiantes de los grados décimo y onceavo tomen el PSAT.
El PSAT/MNSQT ofrece varias ventajas, incluyendo la oportunidad de competir por becas.
