We ended 2015 with a bang! All of the giving and receiving put smiles on everyone’s face throughout the week. We ended our year on a high note and we are sure to start 2016 with more smiles and even greater events! We will have our Reading Fair this month! We are expecting students to choose one of the many books they have read to produce a wonderfully creative Reading Project! I look forward to seeing all the boards on January 15, 2016. Also, our 2015 PARCC State Testing Data has been released. We are in the process of analyzing it and will be providing parents with more feedback soon. Our students and teachers put on a spectular presentation of the true meaning of Christmas, with the perfect theme, “An Old Fashion Christmas.” All students showcased outstanding behavior and exceptional presentation while doing their part. They showed us why they are truly the best students ever!! Dragon’s Motto: Tell me and I forget, teach me and I might remember, involve me and I learn. -Benjamin Franklin Page 1 of 2 BOOKFAIR AND PARENT NIGHT WITH SANTA Special thanks to Mrs. Dozier, PTO of Sherard, and the Faculty and Staff for making our book fair spectacular. Students had the opportunity to purchase books and other educational material throughout the school day. On Parent Night, Santa was our guest. Everyone was able to take pictures with Santa, eat snacks and purchase educational goodies! TEACHERS OF THE MONTH Each month our faculty and staff votes on which deserving educator should be highlighted for the month. After each teacher has the opportunity to nominate a teacher and list their exceptional qualities, the nominations are tallied and the TEACHER OF THE MONTH is announced. Congratulations to Mrs. Natalie Nickels for being the Teacher of the Month for November and Mrs. Angela Allen-Harris AND Ms. Elaine Salanik for being the Teachers of the Month for December!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Terrance Moore was the lucky student who earned this awesome dinosaur! Teachers nominated students who were deserving and showed great character!
