MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME
BACK TO SCHOOL!! We ended 2015
with a bang! All of the giving and
receiving put smiles on everyone’s
face throughout the week. We ended our year on a high note and
we are sure to start 2016 with more smiles and even greater events!
We will have our Reading Fair this month! We are expecting students
to choose one of the many books they have read to produce a
wonderfully creative Reading Project! I look forward to seeing all the
boards on January 15, 2016.
Also, our 2015 PARCC State Testing Data has been released. We are
in the process of analyzing it and will be providing parents with more
feedback soon. This was our first time taking a test of this nature, but
our students showed us that with great teachers and high
expectations, any goal can be accomplished!

CHRISTMAS AT SHERARD ELEMENTARY!!
Our students and teachers put on a
spectular presentation of the true meaning
of Christmas, with the perfect theme, “An
Old Fashion Christmas.” All students
showcased outstanding behavior and
exceptional presentation while doing their
part. They showed us why they are truly the
best students ever!!

forget, teach me and I might
remember, involve me and I
learn.

BOOKFAIR AND PARENT NIGHT WITH SANTA
Special thanks to Mrs. Dozier, PTO of
Sherard, and the Faculty and Staff for
making our book fair spectacular.
Students had the opportunity to purchase
books and other educational material
throughout the school day. On Parent
Night, Santa was our guest.
Everyone was able to take
pictures with Santa, eat snacks
and purchase educational
goodies!
TEACHERS OF THE MONTH
Each month our faculty and staff votes on
which deserving educator should be
highlighted for the month. After each
teacher has the opportunity to nominate a
teacher and list their exceptional qualities,
the nominations are tallied and the
TEACHER OF THE MONTH is announced.
Congratulations to Mrs. Natalie Nickels for
being the Teacher of the Month for
November and Mrs. Angela Allen-Harris
AND Ms. Elaine
Salanik for being
the Teachers of
the Month for
December!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Terrance Moore was the
lucky student who earned
this awesome dinosaur!
Teachers nominated
students who were
deserving and showed
great character!
