TO RING IN THE NEW YEAR EACH 31 ST DECEMBER.

l 31 de diciembre, hacia
las tres de la tarde,
a medida que van
llegando los primeros
espectadores, el
Departamento de Policía
de Nueva York empieza a cerrar
al tráﬁco el acceso a Times
Square y las calles aledañas. A
las seis ya es difícil moverse por
ahí; y a medianoche, más de un
millón de personas abarrota la
conﬂuencia de Broadway con
la Séptima, donde se ubica la
plaza. A las 23.59, la brillante
bola de Año Nuevo desciende
durante 60 segundos por el
mástil que corona el ediﬁcio One
Times Square. La muchedumbre
entona la cuenta atrás y, tras los
segundos ﬁnales, todo estalla en
una explosión de alegría, besos,
fuegos artiﬁciales, luces led y
confeti para dar la bienvenida
al año nuevo. A partir de la 1
de la mañana, con la plaza ya
vacía, unos 150 empleados del
servicio especial de limpieza del
Ayuntamiento tienen la misión
de dejar impoluto el corazón
de la Gran Manzana. Los ecos
de la ﬁesta resuenan a lo lejos

mientras las escobas barren.

traﬃc access to Times Square
and nearby streets. By six it’s
already diﬃcult to move around
in the area; and, at midnight,
more than a million people
pack the junction of Broadway
and Seventh Avenue where
the square is located. At 11.59
p.m., the bright and shiny New
Year’s ball drops down the mast
crowning the One Times Square
building for 60 seconds. The
crowd begins the countdown
and, after the ﬁnal seconds,
it all explodes into happiness,
kisses, ﬁreworks, LED lights
and confetti to welcome the New
Year. By one in the morning, the
square is empty and some 150
employees of the City’s special
cleaning service have the task
of leaving the heart of the Big
Apple spick-and-span. The
echoes of partying can be heard
in the distance as the brooms
sweep.

José Antonio Madrigal en marzo de 2016. Un
curso de bolsa dirigido a todos aquellos que

A sus 40 años tiene un currículum envidiable que

primeras operaciones en la Bolsa Española y, tres años
más tarde, dio el salto a los mercados internacionales:

Alemana (Xetra). Durante más de tres años operó en
el mercado de acciones y en el de futuros de Alemania
y, desde entonces, centró su actividad en las bolsas
americanas, tanto en el Nyse como en el tecnológico
Nasdaq. En la actualidad Madrigal es broker en la
bolsa de EEUU, Nasdaq y Nyse y es jefe estratega de
Mercalia Global Market.
Autor de los libros “Invertir en bolsa con sentido
común”, “Un monje en Wall Street” y “Gánate y
ganarás en bolsa”.
En esta larga y fructífera trayectoria, Madrigal trabajó
con diferentes entidades e intermediarios de las
Ƥs, adquiriendo grandes conocimientos sobre
la materia. Ahora ha decidido dar un paso más y mos trar su manera de ver y actuar en el mercado a todos
aquellos que estén interesados en iniciarse en el
mundo bursátil. “Es mi manera de agradecer y devol ver al mercado todo lo que me ha dado”, señala el acre ditado profesional. Un agradecimiento que tiene tam bién su razón de ser en sus libros “Invertir en bolsa con
sentido común” (Oberón, Anaya 2015), “Un monje en
Wall Street” (2013) y “Gánate y ganarás en bolsa (2010)
editados por Plataforma Editorial.
Con gran sinceridad y conocimiento, el broker Ƥa
que “no conozco ninguna otra actividad en la que se
pueda obtener tanto con tan poco”. Dichas palabras
hacen referencia no solo a las grandes cantidades de
dinero, si no, y, sobre todo, de satisfacciones personales e intelectuales que se pueden obtener al hacer un
buen análisis y selección de los mejores valores del
mercado Ƥro. Jose Antonio Madrigal sostiene
que cualquier persona “puede convertirse en un buen
inversor con los conocimientos necesarios”
El curso pueden realizarlo tanto estudiantes, emprendedores, directivos, asesores, como cualquier persona

cuatro días o dos días intensivos, se introduce a los
alumnos en el conocimiento, desarrollo y estrategias

conocimientos previos.
Los asistentes aprenderán las herramientas necesarias para operar de forma Ƥz y obtendrán una
visión clara de las acciones en las que interesa invertir,
cuándo es el momento idóneo para realizarlo y
cuándo ha llegado la hora de tomar los Ƥs. En
otras palabras, será capaz de tomar las decisiones de
dónde y cuándo hacer una operación bursátil y la
rentabilidad que obtendrá. Así, ya no dependerá de
terceros para sus inversiones, ni de folletos informativos ni de asesores. Si no queda satisfecho se le devolverá el importe del curso íntegro.
Por otra parte, quienes realicen el curso dispondrán
de todas las claves necesarias para hacer operaciones
de forma correcta y obtener unas Altas Rentabilidades. De igual modo, el alumno podrá descargar de

Pero estos son solo dos ejemplos de los tesoros que el Guggenheim bilbaíno tiene en sus entrañas y que ahora, reunidos, merece la pena revisitar. / The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is celebrating its 18th anniversary – having
opened 18 years ago in October 1997– and has decided to
bring out some of the most iconic pieces in its collection.
The Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao Masterworks Collection exhibit, which has just been inaugurated, contains
important work by international painters such as Mark
Rothko, Yves Klein, Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat in addition to Spanish artists Antoni Tàpies, Eduardo Chillida, Jorge Oteiza and Miquel Barceló. Visitors can
see Warhol’s enormous canvas One Hundred and Fifty
Multicolored Marilyns or Klein’s Large Blue Anthropometry featuring the blue pigment the artist patented and
which is named after him. But, these are only two examples of the hidden treasures that can be found in Bilbao’s
Guggenheim which is now worth another visit.

por el Entendimiento de las Civilizaciones y los Derechos
Humanos con un programa compuesto por las sínfornías
número 39, 40 y 41 de Mozart. El recital, organizado por
la Fundación ONUART y grabado aquel día, será ofrecido por televisión a todo el mundo el 10 de diciembre, Día
Internacional de los Derechos Humanos. En España lo
emitirá Mediaset. / Artist Miquel Barceló and a team of

decorates the Human Rights chamber at the Palace of
Nations in Geneva. The work, which features hundreds
of multi-coloured stalactites on end, represents the concordance between the nations. The West-Eastern Divan

and Human Rights on 31st October under this impressive

«Quería ser presidenta de México», recuerda Salma Hayek sobre sus sueños de juventud, y hasta empezó la carrera de Ciencias Políticas para conseguirlo. El 11 de diciembre estrena en España El cuento de los cuentos y en
la película llega mucho más lejos: se convierte en reina. Es lo que tiene la
magia del cine. Una reina, eso sí, de fantasía y con un punto siniestro: ante
su imposibilidad de ser madre, tiene que devorar el corazón de un monstruo marino cocinado y servido por una mujer virgen. Rodar la escena no
le resultó nada agradable. «El director quería que el corazón fuera idéntico
a uno real. Cuando lo mordí, te aseguro que ni un doctor hubiera pensado
que le faltaba una arteria. Pensé que iba a vomitar. Por suerte, mi hija Valentina estaba en el estudio y cuando miró la escena en el monitor, me dijo
que si mordía desde el frente podía ir atrás y escupirlo, porque no se vería
en la cámara. ¡Me salvó la vida!».

in which she goes even further: she becomes

about. A queen, although a fantasy one with
a sinister touch: not able to become a mother, she has to devour the heart of a cooked sea
monster served by a maiden. Filming the scene
was not at all pleasant. «The director wanted
the heart to look just like a real one. When I bit
into it, I can assure you that not even a doctor
would have thought a single artery was missing. I thought I was going to throw up. Luckily, my daughter Valentina was in the studio.
When she saw the scene on the screen, she
told me that if I bit from the front I could go
to the back and spit it out because the camera
wouldn’t catch it. She saved my life!»
It wasn’t the only diﬃculty of ﬁlming, which
took place in several areas of Italy and in which
the Mexican star had to wear dresses that
weighed more than 30 kilos. Perhaps it was
for this reason that Hayek chose a very diﬀerent outﬁt when it came time to present the ﬁlm

more than a vast historical and cultural legacy; it offers
countless streets to wander, a superb cuisine and a vibrant
nightlife for those who know what to look for.

vista al frente, sabedores de que su recompensa está al alcance de la mano.
Todos ellos llevan semanas o meses o
media vida anticipando la estampa:
una masa de piedra que surge de la tierra verde, se levanta en
volúmenes macizos y lanza sus torres a la conquista del cielo.
Lo cierto es que la vista sigue impresionando, por muchas carreteras y farolas que se interpongan, y por mucho que no se
lleven en las botas largas jornadas de polvo y camino, y solo
kilómetros de autovía o tren. Santiago es uno de esos lugares
mitad míticos y mitad geográﬁcos que se han visitado antes
de estar en ellos. Por eso mismo es imperdonable dejar pasar la oportunidad de contrastar mito y realidad, porque en
este caso la realidad se impone claramente. Y este año 2015,
que se cumplen justo tres décadas desde que el casco viejo de
Santiago fuera declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la
Unesco, la capital gallega bien merece una visita.

camino es donde el turista debe comenzar su ruta si quiere

Monte do Gozo and cast
their eyes ahead, knowing
that their reward is within

half a lifetime they have all
been anticipating the sight:
a solid mass of stone emerging from the green earth, its
towers soaring skywards to
conquer the heavens. The
truth is that the view continues to impress, however
many roads and street lights
stand in its way, and even
after just a few miles along
the motorway or by train,
rather than with the fatigue
and dust of a long journey on
foot. Santiago is one of those
half-mythical and half-geographical places that have
been visited before actually
going there; so it is unforgivable to miss the chance
to compare the myth with
the reality, because in this

authentic Santiago is a city
built around its spectacular
cathedral. Where the pilgrim
ends his journey is where
tourists should start their
tour if they want to enjoy what
is basically no more than a gigantic stage set built around
the ﬁgure of St. James. The
rediscovery, around the year
825 of the tomb of the apostle
who brought Christianity to
the Roman Hispania was the
excuse to create a pilgrim’s
way that went beyond the
purely spiritual.
The Camino de Santiago
served to structure the nascent kingdom of Asturias,
reconnect the peninsula with
the rest of Europe and make
the city the jewel it is today.
The rise of the pilgrim’s way
during the 12th century encouraged the construction of
a large Romanesque cathedral over the original Visigoth
temple.
The most outstanding of the
many artists who worked
on it was the master Mateo, creator of the Portico of
Glory, the apex of medieval
European sculpture. Over
the centuries new elements
would gradually be added
to the building in successive
artistic styles, both inside
and outside, but it was the
Baroque style that left the
strongest imprint: the main
altar, dome, decoration and,
above all, the facade of the
Obradoiro, a stone tableau
framed by two towers that
soar to a height of 74 meters,

estilos pero que forman un conjunto integrado gracias a su carácter monumental y al protagonismo de la piedra, la verdadera seña de identidad de Santiago. A un lado tenemos el gótico
tardío de San Xerome, hoy Rectorado de la Universidad; enfrente, el neoclásico del pazo de Raxoi, sede del Ayuntamiento
y la Xunta; al otro lado, el plateresco del Hospital Real, en la
actualidad parador nacional, y por último el románico del pazo
de Gelmírez. Una galería bajo este ediﬁcio lleva a la plaza de la
Inmaculada, en la entrada norte de la catedral, rematada por
la fachada clasicista del monasterio de San Martín Pinario. La
siguiente plaza es la de Quintana, en dos niveles separados por
unas escaleras que, en días de sol, se llenan de peregrinos cogiendo algo de calor a los pies de la Puerta Santa y de la torre de
la Berenguela, cuyas campanas marcan el ritmo de la ciudad.
La última plaza es la de Praterías, bajo la torre del Reloj, delimitada por la catedral y el claustro, con la fuente de los Caballos en el centro y, al otro lado, la Casa do Cabido, más fachada
que ediﬁcio y el ejemplo más hermoso del barroco gallego.
En este lado sur de la catedral se tienden las calles de la ciudad
vieja. Se trata de estrechas rúas cubiertas de piedra y bajo un
cielo que a menudo también parece de piedra, ﬂanqueadas por
tiendas, bares y restaurantes de los que escapan olores que son
la mejor campaña promocional de la gastronomía gallega. La

surrounding the facades of
the cathedral was completed, conﬁrming once again
that everything here revolves
around the cathedral. The
ﬁrst, of course, is the Obradoiro, before the main
entrance, surrounded by
buildings of diﬀerent styles
but which form an integrated whole thanks to their
monumental character and
the predominance of stone,
the true hallmark of Santiago. On one side, there is the
late-Gothic San Xerome,
now Rectorate of the University; opposite this is the neoclassical Raxoi palace, town

regional government; on the

the Holy Door and the Berenguela tower, whose bells
set the rhythm of the city. The
last square is Praterías, under the clock tower, enclosed
by the cathedral and cloister,

the centre and, on the other
side, the Casa do Cabildo,
more façade than building
and the most beautiful ex-
ample of Galician Baroque.
This south side of the cathedral gives on to the streets of
the old city. These are narrow
stone-paved streets under a
sky that often also seems to
be made of stone, ﬂanked by
shops, bars and restaurants
emanating smells that are the
best advertisement of Galician cuisine. Rua do Franco, or Frenchman’s Street,
together with Rua A Raíña,
are the ones with most bars,
seafood restaurants, octopus restaurants... and rowdy
students, who have their own
particular route here: the
Paris-Dakar, or how to drink
a glass of Ribeiro in each of
the 30 taverns between the
two bars. Running parallel
to this street is Rua do Vilar,
arcaded and more elegant,
where the bars give way to
cafes, shops and art galleries,
while Rua Nova is the noblest
of all, with its mansions and
coats of arms on the facades.
The two streets converge in
the Plaza do Toural, with the
Pazo de Bendaña, also worth
seeing on the way to the
Mazarelos square and arch,

Las tiendas, los restaurantes y los pequeños hoteles, con
sus mesas junto al paseo, contribuyen a hacerlo aún más

Empezamos nuestro recorrido paseando por Jerusalén,
la capital de Israel y ciudad santa. En el corazón de Jerusalén se encuentra la Ciudad Vieja, rodeada por una muralla
y dividida en cuatro barrios: el judío, el armenio, el cristiano y el musulmán. Estas murallas rodean los importantes lugares sagrados de las tres religiones principales:

había cervecerías como se estilan en España, una novedad
muy apreciada por los españoles. También merece la pena
el espectáculo de luz y sonido de la Ciudadela, junto a la

video players, 14 computers and 14 speakers. The result
is indescribable. We go now to Tel Aviv, the city that never sleeps. The centre of economic and cultural life in the
country, Tel Aviv is a lively, active city with entertainment,
culture and art, festivals and a rich and varied nightlife.
Located along a 14-kilometre stretch of the Mediterranean coast, here Wi-Fi is free and covers most of the city,
a service much appreciated by travelers.

Air Europa pone en marcha este mes
de diciembre otro de los grandes retos
previstos en su plan de modernización:
SUMA, un innovador programa de fidelización creado para mejorar la experiencia del pasajero y agradecerle su
confianza.
«Si hay un asiento, hay espacio para usted y sus Millas. Sin limitación de fechas,
rutas o clases. Y a partir de su primer
vuelo podrá canjear sus Millas SUMA
por vuelos o por servicios y productos de
nuestros colaboradores». Así reza el programa SUMA, que recompensa con dos
Millas por cada euro desembolsado por el
pasajero en todos los vuelos operados por
Air Europa o, en función de la distancia
recorrida, en los vuelos del resto de las
compañías de la alianza SkyTeam.
A diferencia de lo que ocurre en otras
compañías, las Millas SUMA se pueden
canjear por vuelos de Air Europa siempre que haya una plaza a la venta, tanto
en clase turista como en Business. Además, el canje de Millas para la adquisición de un vuelo, producto o servicio
puede realizarse íntegramente con Millas o realizando el pago combinando
Millas y dinero en efectivo.
Pero Air Europa no está sola en este programa. Para ofrecer más ventajas y beneficios a sus usuarios cuenta con importantes colaboradores no aéreos con los
que también se pueden conseguir y canjear Millas: Cepsa, Europcar y NH Hoteles Mientras que Halcón Viajes, Be Live
y el gigante de la venta online Amazon
ofrecen la opción de canjear Millas.
La apuesta por las nuevas tecnologías
está muy presente en el programa SUMA,
pues el pasajero puede optar por disponer de su tarjeta SUMA en formato digital
además de, si lo desea, en formato físico.
La tarjeta digital SUMA está disponible
en la app de Air Europa desde el momento en que el pasajero se da de alta en
el programa. Para mayor comodidad, la
tarjeta digital se puede añadir también a
la aplicación Wallet del smartphone.
Por otra parte, para que el titular de la
tarjeta no olvide nunca incluir el número de su tarjeta para obtener sus
Millas, la web de Air Europa ofrece al
darse de alta en SUMA la opción de
introducir todos los datos, incluido el
número de su tarjeta. De esta manera,
sus datos aparecerán de forma auto-
mática cuando realice nuevas reservas.
Siendo usuario de la tarjeta SUMA podrá
acumular Millas para subir de nivel de
tarjeta y alcanzar las categorías Silver,
Gold o Platinum. Se acumulan en el periodo de un año y si durante ese tiempo
supera las Millas requeridas, pasará de
forma automática al nivel superior.
Facturación en mostrador Business,
embarque prioritario, prioridad en la
recogida de equipaje, franquicia de
equipaje extra (una pieza de 23 kilos en
clase turista o de 32 kilos en Business)
o elección gratuita de asiento son solo
algunas de las ventajas de las tarjetas

But it is not just Air Europa in this programme. In order to offer more advantages and benefits to card holders,
the programme involves important
non-airline collaborators from which
Miles can also be obtained and exchan-
ged: Cepsa, Europcar and NH Hoteles.

The SUMA programme makes great use
of new technologies; passengers can opt

“La Diabetes se opera
con BAGUA a medida”
La Diabetes se opera, se pueden operar todos los tipos de Diabetes
y, además, se pueden operar pacientes con peso normal. Son noticias nuevas para la mayoría de la población incluyendo muchos
médicos que aún creen que la Diabetes sólo tiene tratamiento con
comprimidos e insulina.
¿Qué diferencia hay entre la Diabetes Tipo 2
y la Diabetes Tipo 1?
Se diferencian en el mecanismo de destrucción del
páncreas. La Tipo1 es una enfermedad en la que las
defensas del paciente no reconocen a las células que
producen la insulina en el páncreas y las destruyen.
Por eso aparece a edades más tempranas, en los niños,
y destruye el páncreas antes. Y por eso los pacientes
tienen insulina desde el principio. Mientras que la
Tipo2 está relacionada con una dificultad para que
la glucosa (azúcar) entre en las células ayudada por
la insulina. Por eso se queda en la sangre y es cuando
decimos que el azúcar está alto. Claro, el páncreas
nota que la glucosa está alta y no para de producir
insulina. Este trabajo constante del páncreas lo va
agotando progresivamente, de ahí que los pacientes
empiecen con pastillas y terminen con insulina,
como pasa en los Tipo1 pero con mayor edad.
Es decir, distinto mecanismo de producción pero el
mismo resultado. Por eso, si la cirugía tiene un efecto
positivo sobre una, también lo debe tener sobre la
otra. Los dos tipos se tratan con los mismos medicamentos y producen las mismas complicaciones a
largo plazo en corazón, ojos, riñones, nervios, piernas,
etc. La Tipo2 la tienen el 95% de los diabéticos.
Si sólo es cuestión de bajar los niveles de azúcar
en sangre y tenemos pastillas e insulina para
hacerlo, ¿por qué se desarrollan las complicaciones: infarto, ceguera, diálisis, amputaciones,
etc. cuando se trata con pastillas e insulina y
no cuando se trata con cirugía?
El efecto de la cirugía sobre la Diabetes fue un hallazgo casual. Haciendo una cirugía para curar otras
enfermedades como la úlcera de estómago o la obesidad nos dimos cuenta de que cuando se hacía en
diabéticos, la Diabetes desaparecía. Con el tiempo
hemos visto que, además, mejoran las consecuencias
de la Diabetes como cardiopatía, retinopatía, neuropatía, nefropatía y otras vasculopatías como la impotencia sexual y la periférica en las piernas. Aparte,
del colesterol, los triglicéridos, la tensión arterial alta,
el ácido úrico, etc. Y este efecto no lo tienen ni los antidiabéticos orales ni la insulina (por eso los diabéticos
tienen que tomar también pastillas para tratar todas
estas otras enfermedades que se presentan de forma
conjunta con la Diabetes).
Es decir, la cirugía que hace que la comida no pase
por la mayor parte del estómago y la primera porción
del intestino provoca unos cambios en la absorción
y metabolismo del azúcar que evita los efectos que
este azúcar provoca cuando el estómago está entero
y pasa por todo el intestino. Es otro ritmo de absorción
y distribución del azúcar por el organismo. Este cambio de absorción y distribución del azúcar en el organismo hace que reviertan los cambios que el metabolismo (procesamiento) del azúcar en los
diabéticos produce sobre los tejidos muscular, graso,
hígado, riñón, etc. Y el paciente vuelve a tener una
forma de comer de todo y una salud más parecida a
la de las personas no diabéticas.
Sorprende que esta cirugía no sea más conocida
y se practique más. ¿Por qué cree que no se conoce tanto y no se realiza a más diabéticos?
Es algo nuevo y todo lleva su tiempo hasta que se conoce por el gran público y se confirman los resultados
en gran número de pacientes por distintos grupos
de cirujanos en estudios amplios. Hoy día es una realidad a nivel mundial. En Septiembre de 2015 se celebrará en Londres el III Congreso Mundial de Cirugía de Diabetes. Y se están dando cada vez más pasos
para afianzar la cirugía con Bypass Gástrico a medida
que nosotros realizamos (BAGUA) o de bypass metabólico en general como tratamiento de la Diabetes.
Tanto en pacientes con mal control de su Diabetes,
como en cualquier diabético. Y cuanto antes mejor
para evitar el deterioro del páncreas.
¿El BAGUA a medida qué es exactamente? ¿Es
una cirugía muy traumática?
BAGUA consiste en dividir el estómago en dos partes:
por una pasa la comida y por otra no, aunque la parte
por la que no pasa la comida sigue funcionando igual
y produciendo los mismos jugos y sustancias que antes de la cirugía. La parte del estómago por la que
pasa la comida se une al intestino. Es a medida porque
dependiendo del peso, de la edad y de la longitud
total del intestino de cada paciente, se realiza el tamaño del estómago y la longitud del intestino que
se puentea (bypass significa puenteo, como aparece
en la figura). Se realiza a través de cuatro pequeños
agujeros para introducir como cuatro bolígrafos, y
el paciente está cuarenta y ocho horas en el hospital.
El índice de complicaciones está entorno al uno por
ciento.

¿Cuánto tiempo lleva haciendo esta Cirugía
de Diabetes tanto en pacientes con peso normal como en pacientes con sobrepeso u obesidad, y cómo son los resultados?
Con intención expresa de tratar Diabetes en pacientes
no obesos empezamos en Febrero de 2008, aunque
desde 2002 venimos operando a pacientes obesos que
además tenían Diabetes, aunque eso es Cirugía de
Obesidad. Se habla de Cirugía de Diabetes cuando se
opera a pacientes sin obesidad con la sola intención
de resolver su Diabetes.
En la Diabetes Tipo 2 más del ochenta por ciento de
los pacientes dejan totalmente el tratamiento no sólo
de pastillas e insulina sino también el resto de pastillas para tensión, colesterol o triglicéridos, ácido úrico,
anti-agregantes (adiro) para el corazón, etc. que normalmente tiene este tipo de pacientes, haciendo además una dieta libre. El otro menos del veinte por
ciento pasa de necesitar insulina a una pastilla al día
para controlar sus niveles de azúcar con dieta libre.
En la Diabetes Tipo 1 los pacientes dejan de necesitar
insulina rápida y dejan o disminuyen el resto del
tratamiento para hipertensión, colesterol, etc. y se
controlan los niveles de azúcar con una sola inyección
de cantidades mínimas (en comparación con lo que
necesitaba antes de la cirugía) de insulina lenta.
En ambos casos (Tipo 2 y 1) mejoran o remiten las
complicaciones macro- y micro-vasculares de la diabetes sobre corazón, ojos, riñón, piernas, etc.

«Siempre nos ha
gustado mucho la moda.
En nuestra época de
eventuales en Air Europa
trabajamos también
en Massimo Dutti y ahí
aprendimos el trabajo de
la tienda, pero para los
temas de diseño somos
autodidactas, porque
nunca hemos ido a una
escuela de moda. Mi
madre –dice Sergio–,
que ha cosido toda
la vida, fue quien nos
ayudó con los primeros
patrones y diseños. Ese
fue el germen de Arthur
& Gio, nuestra marca de
ropa y el nombre de la
tienda que tenemos en
Llanes (Asturias), donde
vendemos nuestras
prendas y las de otros
jóvenes diseñadores.

línea de prendas básicas y
cada año hacemos cuatro
colecciones. La de este
invierno está muy volcada
en las prendas de ante
para mujer y en los tonos
grises para hombre, que

«We have always loved
fashion. In our period as
temporary workers at Air
Europa we also worked at
Massimo Dutti, where we
learnt the store work, but
in matters of design we
are self-taught, because
we have never been to a
design school. My mother
–says Sergio-, who has
sewn all her life, helped
us with our ﬁrst patterns
and designs. This was
the seed of Arthur&Gio,
our clothing brand and
the name of our store in
Llanes (Asturias), where
