chronic constipation, this is usually in the

Treatment
Constipation is generally treated through
increasing dietary fiber, and ensuring
adequate fluid intake. Fiber is generally
added to the diet through some fruits,
vegetables and grains. Fiber can also
be added through dietary products such
as Metamucil™ or Citrucel™. Fiber is
present as constipation.

........KIDS CORNER........
Here are some fun indoor
activities for when it is too
cold and hopefully too wet
this winter to play outside...
great for sensory and gross
motor skills
What you need:
•Imagination
•masking tape (or painters tape)
•different sized balls
•toy cars
•plastic Easter eggs
Line Walk
Move the furniture out of the
way and use masking tape to
create "lines" for your child to
walk along. Be creative! Lines
can curve, zig zag or turn with
sharp corners... have them walk
heel to toe, jump, twist or move in
different ways along the lines.
Car Drive or Ball Roll
You can use the same straight,
double, zig zagged lines or
create your own maze with
masking tape and have your child
drive a toy car along the line, or
through the maze. A variation of
4
the car drive is a ball roll.
Have your child roll the ball
along a straight line, then
for variety, roll along a zig
zagged, or between two
lines... the possibilities are
endless. Use a weighted
ball for an added sensory
experience and have your child
count or say the alphabet with
each roll or turn.
Collect the Eggs Race
A zig zag or square turning line
is best... place an egg on each
corner, have your child race to
pick them up, or race to put them
back! You can also have them
count the eggs as they collect
them!
