Programa Internacional de Excelencia Anual del
Tecnológico de Monterrey en la Universidad de
Yale apoyado por el fondo de becas
Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma.
PIE ANUAL Agosto 2015 – Mayo 2016
El Programa Internacional de Excelencia Anual en la Universidad de Yale,
denominado Yale International Visiting Student Program (Y-VISP), permitirá
que ocho destacados alumnos participen como estudiantes de intercambio,
teniendo la oportunidad de representar al Tecnológico de Monterrey estudiando
durante un año en la Universidad de Yale, y viviendo en alguno de sus doce
colegios residenciales.
Este programa se ofrece a los alumnos, de todos los campus del Tecnológico de
Monterrey, que estén inscritos en las carreras invitadas y que cumplan con todos
los requisitos que establece esta convocatoria.

Elegibilidad
Para participar como candidatos a este programa, los alumnos deberán satisfacer
los siguientes criterios:

Haber acreditado al momento de ser postulado (septiembre del 2014), 18 materias
de su programa de estudios.
Tener promedio acumulado igual o superior a 90 al momento de ser postulado al
programa.
Contar como mínimo con un puntaje de 600 en el examen TOEFL en papel o su
equivalente en las versiones en computadora.
No estar condicionado disciplinariamente.

Debido a que éste es un programa de excelencia se recomienda que el (la)
director(a) de carrera realice un cuidadoso proceso de selección de candidatos
tomando en cuenta las recomendaciones proporcionadas por Yale en la carta
dirigida a los alumnos candidatos (adjunta a esta convocatoria) y tomando en
cuenta la siguiente información financiera:
Se proporciona como referencia el costo del programa 2014-2015 que fue de
59,540 dólares estadounidenses (USD) y se presenta el desglose a continuación:

a) Será responsabilidad del alumno cubrir en su totalidad los rubros de
hospedaje, alimentación y seguro de gastos médicos en USA durante su
programa anual.
b) El concepto de colegiatura podrá ser cubierto por el alumno con
recursos propios, con fondos que consiga vía patrocinadores y/o
aplicando al fondo de becas Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma según la
franquicia que mejor responda a la situación socioeconómica de su
familia.

c) Una vez pre-seleccionados, los alumnos que requieran apoyo para
cubrir el concepto de colegiatura podrán aplicar a alguna de las
siguientes franquicias* de becas:
Franquicia A (Cubre del 81% al 90% de colegiatura en Yale)
Franquicia B (Cubre del 71% al 80% de colegiatura en Yale)
Franquicia C (Cubre del 61% al 70% de colegiatura en Yale)
*El número de franquicias disponibles para el programa 2015-16 estará en función de
los recursos aportados por el fondo de becas Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma y será
comunicada en el documento de solicitud de beca que será compartido con los
alumnos interesados, luego de su pre-selección.
d) Las aportaciones al programa (pagos) podrán ser efectuados
trimestralmente durante el transcurso del programa, siguiendo el
programa de pagos que será definido una vez que los alumnos sean
admitidos.
Todos los alumnos que sean debidamente postulados serán evaluados por un
comité del Tecnológico de Monterrey.
PROCESO
Se ha previsto que para la operación del programa se consideren las siguientes
etapas:
I.
Postulación
El (la) director(a) de carrera:
Identifica a los alumnos que cumplan con el perfil. La identificación se basará en el
conocimiento que se tiene del alumno, en el análisis de su historia académica y en
su desempeño extra-académico.

Avisa al alumno que pretende postularlo y comparte con él las características del
programa anual de excelencia 2015-16, así como la información sobre los
documentos que deberá entregar para ser postulado, tomando en cuenta también
la información financiera incluida en esta convocatoria.

Cada director entrará al sistema de PI y realizará las postulaciones de sus
alumnos. El sistema para postular estará disponible del 1 al 8 de septiembre del
2014. El sistema se cerrará automáticamente a las 23:59 hrs. No se aceptarán
postulaciones tardías.

II.
Pre-selección y selección.
a)
El comité del Tecnológico de Monterrey:
Rankea y pre-selecciona a los mejores alumnos postulados siendo su resultado
inapelable y luego de notificar los resultados a los campus recibirá y evaluará las
solicitudes de apoyos de los alumnos pre-seleccionados que así lo requieran.
b)
El (la) director(a) de carrera:
Comunica a sus respectivos alumnos que han sido pre-seleccionados
solicitándoles que confirmen que siguen adelante en el proceso.
c)
La Universidad de Yale:
Lleva a cabo la selección final reservándose el derecho de solicitar a los finalistas
cualquier información adicional, ya sea por escrito o mediante una entrevista* a
realizarse durante los meses de enero o febrero del 2015.
*La entrevista se realiza vía Skype en los días y horarios definidos por la Universidad de
Yale.
La Universidad de Yale tendrá la última palabra en la decisión y admisión de los
alumnos al programa. Y comunicará al Tecnológico de Monterrey la lista final de
alumnos admitidos al programa.

III.
Admisión
a)
El comité del Tecnológico de Monterrey:
Notificará a los directores de carrera, con copia a los directores generales de los
campus, la lista definitiva de los alumnos seleccionados por la Universidad de
Yale, y a los alumnos los apoyos que les serán asignados.
b)
Los alumnos admitidos:
Confirmarán su participación en el programa firmando el documento de
lineamientos del programa y el esquema de pagos. Las fechas límite para ellos
serán comunicadas oportunamente.
Participarán en la ceremonia de admisión y entrega de apoyos organizada por el
Tecnológico de Monterrey y el fondo de becas Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma que se
llevará a cabo durante el semestre Enero-Mayo 2015. La asistencia a este evento
es obligatoria.
Cualquier punto no considerado en esta convocatoria será definido por el comité
del Programa Internacional de Excelencia del Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Standardized Testing
