church that parishioners will bring their lives filled with both joy and sorrows
and join them to Christ, who offers the perfect sacrifice to the Father. It will be
from this church that Grace of the Sacrament will radiate for the building-up of
the kingdom and for the sanctification of souls. It will be at this church where
people will find nourishment and strength, communion and peace, unity and

EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
First Reading: Exodus 16:2-4, 12-15
The Israelites complain that Moses led them to the desert
and there is no food for them there. Then the Lord told
Moses he would rain down bread from heaven so the
people might know that AI, the Lord, am your God.@ God
did as he had promised and in the morning the people
found the bread that he had given them.
Second Reading: Ephesians 4:17, 20-24
Paul tells the Ephesians that they must give up their old way
of life and live in accordance with the truth that Christ has
brought them. He reminds them to acquire a spiritual way
of thinking, and to remember that they are made in God=s
image and act accordingly.
Gospel: John 6:24-35
The people Jesus had fed on five loaves of bread follow him,
and Jesus tells them they should not be looking for
perishable food, but for spiritual food. The people want a
sign that they should believe in him. He explains that he is
the bread of life, and anyone who believes will not
experience hunger or thirst. The people did not fully
understand that he was speaking in the spiritual sense, and
not of actual food.
The gospel of John does not include the story of the last supper, or the institution of the Eucharist. It does however, in
the sixth chapter, teach us of the gift of life-giving bread
which is Jesus Himself. What God did for the people in the
desert, offering the manna for their survival, He promised to
do for us. Jesus wished to remain with His people, as we
learn His concern in the priestly prayer in John’s gospel. He
chose a way which made and makes this possible. The Eucharist is the gift of Jesus to sustain us in the Christian life.
It is the abiding Presence by which He nourishes us and
feeds us. It is the gift of His Presence, waiting to be acknowledged and adored. The Eucharist is the gift for our survival
today. Ask the Lord to increase your desire for the Eucharist
and avoid routine and monotony, but eagerly reach out for
the gift He gives.
“The family finds in the plan of God the
Creator and Redeemer not only its identity, what it is, but also its mission, what it
can and should do. The role that God calls
the family to perform in history derives
from what the family is; its role represents
the dynamic and existential development
of what it is. Each family finds within itself a
summons that cannot be ignored, and that specifies both its
dignity and its responsibility: family, become what you are.
Accordingly, the family must go back to the "beginning" of
God's creative act, if it is to attain self-knowledge and selfrealization in accordance with the inner truth not only of what
it is but also of what it does in history. And since in God's plan it
has been established as an "intimate community of life and
love,"[44] the family has the mission to become more and
more what it is, that is to say, a community of life and love, in
an effort that will find fulfillment, as will everything created
and redeemed, in the Kingdom of God. Looking at it in such a
way as to reach its very roots, we must say that the essence
and role of the family are in the final analysis specified by love.
Hence the family has the mission to guard, reveal and communicate love, and this is a living reflection of and a real sharing in God's love for humanity and the love of Christ the Lord
for the Church His bride.”
(APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION FAMILIARIS CONSORTIO OF POPE
JOHN PAUL II)
DECIMO OCTAVO DOMINGO EN TIEMPO ORDINARIO
Primera Lectura: Exodo 16:2-4, 12-15
pudre, sino comida espiritual.
Juan Pablo II
Una oración para el
Encuentro Mundial de las Familias en Filadelfia
en el año 2015
Dios y Padre de todos nosotros,
en Jesús, tu Hijo y nuestro Salvador,
nos has hecho tus hijos e hijas
en la familia de la Iglesia.
Que tu gracia y amor
ayuden a nuestras familias

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
August 15, 2015
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever. (Lk 1:46-55)
“In the bodily and spiritual glory which she possesses in heaven,
the Mother of Jesus continues in this present world as the image
and first flowering of the Church as she is to be perfected in the
world to come. Likewise, Mary shines forth on earth, until the day
of the Lord shall come (cf. 2 Peter 3:10), as a sign of certain hope
and comfort for the pilgrim People of God” (Vatican II, Dogmatic
Constitution on the Church, 68).
