El Servicio Ecuatoriano de Normalización (INEN), se
complace en invitarle a la Asamblea General de la
Comisión Panamericana de Normas Técnicas
(COPANT). Misma que se realizará del 17 al 21 de
abril de 2016 en Ecuador, en la ciudad de Guayaquil.
The Ecuadorian Service for Standardization
(INEN), is pleased to invite you to the General
Assembly of the Pan American Standards
Commission (COPANT). Same to be held from 17
to 21 April 2016 in Ecuador, in Guayaquil.
El INEN es el eje principal del Sistema Ecuatoriano de
la Calidad, y es justamente en esta entidad donde se
desarrollan documentos normativos que facilitan el
diseño y fabricación de los productos mediante
especificaciones que determinan el nivel de la calidad.
The INEN is the backbone of the Ecuadorian
Quality System, and it is precisely in this state
where normative documents that facilitate the
design and manufacture of products with
specifications that determine the level of quality.
Es en ese sentido, esta institución trabaja continuamente para garantizar que los productos que son
consumidos, sean seguros. A su vez, promovemos
constantemente la producción responsable y eficiente de las Industrias.
Es un orgullo que el Ecuador sea la sede de la
próxima Asamblea General de la COPANT. Además,
estamos seguros que en esta Asamblea, se lograrán
generar estrategias para fortalecer nuestro posicionamiento ante los diferentes Organismos Internacionales de Normalización; mismos que verán reflejados los intereses en beneficio de nuestra región, permitiendo unificar esfuerzos.

works to ensure that products are consumed,
they are safe. Also, constantly we promote
responsible and efficient production of Industries.
We are proud that Ecuador will host the next
General Assembly of COPANT. In addition, we
are confident that this Assembly will achieve
develop strategies to strengthen our positioning in
the different international standardization
organization; same interests will be reflected in
benefit of our region, allowing unify efforts.
Likewise, the meeting will be totally rewarding,
since that will be achieved as to exchange
experiences Standardization.

Guayaquil, conocida como la Perla del Pacifico es la
ciudad más grande del Ecuador y la más poblada; es
el puerto principal del país y uno de los principales
centros de negocios de Sudamérica. Además, esta
ciudad, ubicada a orillas del imponente río Guayas,
ofrece una variedad de atractivos turísticos.

Ecuador's largest and most populous city; It is the

MALECON 2000
El principal atractivo de esta ciudad es el Malecón 2000 (o Malecón Simón Bolívar), un ambicioso proyecto de regeneración urbana que abarca 2,5 en las orillas del río Guayas. Este
malecón comienza en el antiguo mercado sur, hoy conocido como Palacio de Cristal, una
construcción que data de inicios del siglo XX. Durante la caminata también encontrará
varios lugares de esparcimiento como coloridos jardines, restaurantes y almacenes, y varios
monumentos históricos. Quizá el más representativo de estos monumentos es La Rotonda,
un ícono de la ciudad, que representa la entrevista entre José de San Martín a Simón
Bolívar, que marcó el inicio de la Independencia sudamericana. Además, también podrá
visitar la Torre Morisca o Torre del Reloj, construida en 1930.
The main attraction of this city is the Malecon 2000 (and Malecón Simon Bolivar), an ambitious urban regeneration project covering 2.5 on the banks of the Guayas River. This boardwalk begins at the Old South Market, now known as the Crystal Palace, a building dating
from the early twentieth century. During the walk you will also find several places of entertainment such as colorful gardens, restaurants and shops, and several historic monuments.
Perhaps the most representative of these monuments is La Rotonda, an icon of the city,
depicting the meeting between Jose de San Martin Simon Bolivar, which marked the beginning of South American Independence. Guests may also visit the Moorish Tower or Clock
Tower, built in 1930.

CERRO SANTA ANA Y BARRIO LAS PEÑAS
El Cerro Santa Ana es uno de los puntos de interés turístico más importantes de la ciudad.
Se encuentra a orillas del río Guayas, y en él tradicional barrio de Las Peñas. En un recorrido
de 444 escalones se encuentran restaurantes, cafés, galerías de arte, cibercafés y tiendas
de artesanías. Está dotado de plazoletas además de áreas verdes para la recreación y el
descanso.
En la cima del cerro se ubica un faro (de 18 metros de alto), una capilla y el Museo Naval,
lugar donde se encuentran cañones y otros artefactos que se utilizaban en los tiempos en
que la ciudad era asediada por piratas. El más importante atractivo en esta área es la vista
completa que se tiene de la ciudad.
Cerro Santa Ana is one of the most important points of interest of the city. It is located along
the Guayas River, and in the traditional neighborhood of Las Peñas. At a distance of 444

PARQUE HISTÓRICO
El Parque Histórico Guayaquil es un espacio cultural, medioambiental, educativo, recreativo

época colonial e inicios de la republicana, que comprendía casi la totalidad de la región costera del Ecuador.
La antigua Provincia o Departamento libre de Guayaquil contenía bosques, ciudades y
campos, que hoy constituyen la base temática del Parque Histórico, que en sus 8 hectáreas
de extensión, se divide en tres zonas bien diferenciadas: Zona de Vida Silvestre, Zona
Urbano-Arquitectónica y Zona de Tradiciones.

The Guayaquil Historical Park is a cultural, environmental, educational, recreational and tourist space, which refers to the former province of Guayaquil, emerged in the late colonial and
early republican, comprising almost the entire coastal region Ecuador.
The old Province or free Guayaquil Department contained forests, cities and fields, which
today form the thematic basis of the Historic Park, which in its 8 hectares, is divided into
three distinct zones: Wildlife Zone, Urban-Architectural Area and Traditions Zone.
