Mensaje del Director Se adjunta una carta de nuestro Superintendente / Director, Dr. Janet Skulina . Principal’s Message October 9, 2015 Dear Families, Much to my surprise, it’s already October! In fact, we’re approaching the half-way mark in October and today is our Jog-A-Thon. I want to thank our Parent Teacher Club for all the work they do on behalf of our school. The Jog-A-Thon is a very large undertaking and it requires coordination and effort While it hasn’t happened yet, I’m looking forward to watching the children on this beautiful day! The energy is in the air! So many wonderful things happen at this school and for the children. We couldn’t do the things we do without PTC and all our wonderful parent volunteers! Please join us this Thursday for our usual October School Board meeting. We have two wonderful candidates willing to volunteer their time to the school in a completely different way. Each candidate will be asked questions by the school board members. You will get a chance to know these two women a little better before the Board makes its final decision. Mr. Tom Changnon, our Superintendent of Schools for Stanislaus County will also be presenting information regarding the importance of high school graduation through Destination Graduation. This county-wide resolution is one that Knights Ferry Elementary School District has supported in the past. A solid education, the foundations of which are being put strongly into place here at Knights Ferry School, is important in the 21st Century workplace. Be patient and loving with your children. We all have those days when our better nature and wise-parenting skills desert us. At least I do. It’s important as a parent, to remember how much our own actions impact our children. They love us and rely upon us to model the kind of behavior we’d like to see them display. Be forgiving of your children and of yourself on those days when nothing seems to go well, you’re running late and your child or children are not cooperating, and maybe you raised your voice just a teeny bit (or a lot). We all have bad days. Teach your children to understand that bad days happen, but that taking responsibility for your own behavior is a mark of integrity. Hugs and pizza might be helpful too. As always, have a very safe and enjoyable weekend. Cheers until next week Dr. J
