Circus Performer
BIO
Joana Alcoba, Jowy, was born in Barcelona the 25th February 1989.
She starts her artistic career in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Where she studied in known schools like “Circo Criollo”, “Circo
Arena” and “Teatro San Martín” with Marcelo Katz and Videla brothers, among others.
She specializes in aerial acrobatics and dance.
Later, she studies contemporary dance in the school Area, in Barcelona. With known teachers like Anne Morin, Bénédicte
Carrat and Jessica Llano among others. Thus, focusind on dance and circus, she deepen on her own creations, and her firsts
shows involving dance and trapeze come out.
Currently, she teaches aerial acrobatics, specializing on silks and trapeze, and she manages the creations space “Atlantis El
Surgir del Arte”, where she handles creative process, runs artistics cabarets and events and she works on her own projects.

Splinter Rough
Aerial Hammock (+ Live music show with Stiff Cats)
This show combines the magic of an air show with the intensity of a live concert.
Originally the show is based on the interpretation of the song Splinter Rought, from
the band Stiff Cats. Following their collaboration they have performed several times
together with the full band or only with their singer and guitarist in a more intimate
solo version.
The song is about betrayal and jealousy, a proposal intensively staged in the Aerial
Hammock, an air element rarely seen that reflects the sensuality and passion of the
artist who moves to the beat of live music.
A show that has no waste!
Suitable for all audiences.

WITH, WITHOUT, WITHIN...
Static Trapeze and Contemporary Dance
The main character of this show is a woman overcoming a grief. She
appears on scene with a complete darkness broken by two candles that
lights barely her face. The background audio is “White Noise”, which
reflects her devastation and the emptiness she feels. From this little light
she starts tangling up with herself in an acrobatic dance till she flakes out
in a threshold between life and lifeless, in the world of dreams.
In this latter dimension where everything is possible, even flying.
And just like that she overcomes the excruciating silence of darkness and
with the beat of the music of 2 cellos she gets propelled into some insane,
liquid quick rides, where she express and let her pain go until achieving
freedom and abandoning herself fully.

ANGER
Static Trapeze
The main character of this show is a metaphorical representation of
one of the Seven Deadly Sins: the Wrath.
Through this show she explores the movement qualities of an
euphoric body, the energy that emerges from anger and the hunger
for power.
With the beat of the opening song from the film “The Wall”, played
by the known band Pink Floyd, that shows the atrocities committed
from a powerful position.
It’s a very choreographic show with high intensity that increases the
public energy.
