Are you registered
in the Parish?
If you are not receiving mail from the parish,
chances are you are not registered. You are free to
stop by the Parish Office to become a registered
member of All Saints.
Parish registration is required to be a Baptismal
Godparent or Confirmation Sponsor. You may also
visit our website at www.allsaintsvachurch.org.
To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
These words of St. Peter are words that each person is
asked to embrace in his/her life. In today’s Gospel from
John 6:60-69, many of Jesus’ disciples leave him because
they find his teaching on eating his Body and Blood as the
Bread of Life in the Eucharist too much to handle. It
requires faith in order to consent to this belief. Faith is
believing in the the revealed word of another - in this case,
Jesus. Faith must grow or faith will weaken. Ask Jesus to
help you believe in the beautiful gift of the Eucharist. We
cannot understand all of the aspects of the gift and sacrifice
of Jesus in the Eucharist, but we can make that act of faith.
I also encourage you to sign up for an hour of Adoration in
our Chapel at various days during the week. In prayer
before the Blessed Sacrament, we are changed as we allow
the Eucharistic Lord’s presence to touch us. We have an
urgent need for substitutes and permanent adorers. At the
same time, did you ever consider that you may have an
urgent need to take time to pray before our Eucharistic
Lord? Join with 3 or 4 other people to cover a specific hour
(once a week) over a period of a month. You can encourage
each other to pray in this way. Next Sunday we plan to
have a sign-up table in the church narthex (vestibule) after
Masses so that you may make a commitment to prayer
before the Blessed Sacrament.

Question of the Week: This week, what concr ete action
on my part will show unequivocally that I have decided to
stay with Christ in Eucharistic discipleship?

The Importance of Sunday Mass
As the body will die without food, the soul will expire without
nourishment. As Catholics, that spiritual nourishment comes
at the Sunday Eucharist.
The Lord’s Day is essential for our faith.

Learning More About the
Catholic Church
The Catholic church offers adults who are unbaptized, or
who have been members of other Christian denominations,
or baptized and have never been formed in the Christian
life, a process of formation in the Catholic faith. This
process is called the RCIA, or Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults. This process is a gradual one where participants
will learn from members of the community and have their
questions about the Catholic faith answered. This process
begins the week of September 13th, but registration is
occurring now.
For more information, check the website at
www.allsaintsreligiouseducation.org or contact Samantha
Welsh or Marylee Grabowski in the Religious Education
Office at 703-393-2142.
High School Confirmation
All High School aged youth who have not yet been

disciples.
This program begins in January, 2016 but registration for
the program has already begun. Parents of high school
teens interested in being confirmed should contact the RE
Office for registration information at 703-393-2142. For
