What has been the best part about life in Sydney?
Australia is a country with a lot of opportunities, especially for
young professionals. Sydney is a business financial district as well
as a city bursting with cultural events, amazing natural places and
friendly people, which makes me feel like home.
How has CET helped/ or will help with your work
or career?
After working more than five years as a news editor in Mexico I
can say that language and information matter. In my profession,
language is the fundamental tool to write stories and communicate
about Global Affairs. Therefore I need accurate English and a deep
understanding of grammatical structures. CET has given me all
the tools to help me achieve my goals.
Do you have any advice to students from your country thinking about studying
at the University of Sydney?
My advice to all students is that education is the key to success and studying overseas will
change your perspective on life. In order to study overseas you need to have grit, determination
and commitment. Do not be afraid to raise your hand and speak up. Studying at the University of
Sydney is not only about improving yourself, it is also about changing the future of your country.
CET will definitely provide you with a high level of education to help you achieve your goals.

What has been the best part about
your academic program at CET? Why?
I am pleased I had the opportunity to study
with people from various nationalities, different
professions and social economic backgrounds.
I have learnt to respect other cultures, ideas
and religions. Most importantly, by learning each
other’s stories, I feel highly motivated to pursue
my educational and professional goals. Teachers at
CET are very passionate professionals who share a
common belief - the power of education.
CET’s building is conveniently situated in the
middle of the University of Sydney’s campus. I love
studying in the Fisher Library and the Quadrangle,
the most magnificent building. I also love exercising
at the University of Sydney Sports & Aquatic
Centre. Sport makes me focus on my goals and
makes me feel like a healthy-competitive woman.
I have had a lot of fun and challenges during my
swimming lessons.
How long were you studying at CET? What did your program involve?
I have been studying English in the General English (GE) program for 25 weeks as well as the
Business English program for 6 weeks. The General English (GE) program taught me grammar
fundamentals through a profound understanding of people’s communications in various situations.
Additionally, the Business English (BE) program has been a perfect complement to my education.
I love the world of media and BE gave me the opportunity to read, analyse and write about
real business and economical issues. I also gained knowledge on business topics like Leadership,
International Marketing, Corporate Communication as well as Project and Risk Management and
I acquired strong business writing skills.

¿Qué ha sido lo mejor de vivir en Sídney?
Australia es un país que brinda muchas oportunidades, en especial
a los jóvenes profesionales. Además de ser un distrito financiero
y de negocios, Sídney goza de una rica agenda cultural, increíbles
parajes naturales y gente amable. Todo esto me hace sentir como
en casa.
¿Cómo ha aportado el CET en su trabajo o carrera
professional?
Luego de haber trabajado por más de cinco años como editora de
noticias en México, puedo afirmar que los idiomas y la información
son realmente importantes. En mi profesión, el lenguaje es una
herramienta fundamental para contar historias y comunicar lo que
pasa alrededor del mundo. De ahí mi necesidad de un manejo del
inglés acertado y una comprensión profunda de la gramática. CET
me ha dado todas estas herramientas para ayudarme a alcanzar
estos objetivos.
¿Tiene algún consejo para los estudiantes de su país que están pensando en
estudiar en la Universidad de Sídney?
Mi consejo para todos los estudiantes es que la educación es la clave del éxito, y estudiar fuera
del país cambiará su perspectiva de la vida. Para estudiar en el exterior se necesita coraje,
determinación y compromiso. No tengas miedo de levantar la mano y decir lo que piensas. Estudiar
en la Universidad de Sídney no se trata solamente de crecer como persona, se trata también de
cambiar el futuro de tu país. Y con seguridad CET te va a proveer educación de alta calidad.

¿Qué ha sido lo mejor de su programa
académico en CET? Por qué?
Estoy satisfecha de haber tenido la oportunidad
de estudiar con gente de varias nacionalidades,
diferentes profesiones y entorno socioeconómico. He
aprendido a respetar otras culturas, ideas y religiones.
Aún más importante, escuchando la historia de cada
cuál me siento motivada a perseguir mis metas
académicas y profesionales. Los profesores en el CET
son todos profesionales apasionados que comparten
una sola creencia: el poder de la educación.
Las instalaciones del CET están convenientemente
situadas en medio del campus universitario. Me
encanta estudiar en Fisher Library y el Quadrangle,
el más espectacular de todos los edificios. También
me encanta hacer ejercicio en el Sports & Aquatic
Centre. El deporte me ayuda a concentrarme en
mis objetivos y me hace sentir una mujer saludable
y competitiva. He tenido mucha diversión y retos en
mis clases de natación.
¿Por cuánto tiempo estuvo estudiando en el CET? Qué involucraba su
programa?
He estado estudiando inglés en el programa de General English por 25 semanas, junto a un programa
Business English por seis semanas. El programa de General English me enseñó gramática básica a través de
un entendimiento profundo de la comunicación social en varias situaciones. Adicionalmente, el programa de
Business English ha sido un complemento perfecto para mi educación. Me encanta el mundo de los medios
y el BE me dio la oportunidad de leer, analizar y escribir sobre negocios reales y noticias económicas.
También adquirí conocimientos en temas financieros como liderazgo, mercadeo internacional, comunicación
corporativa así como administración de riesgos y proyectos. Además, desarrollé sólidas habilidades de
escritura de negocios.
