St. Edward Catholic Church Solemnity of St. Gaspar Del Bufalo October 19, 2014 Take the root of faith the leaves of hope the rose of charity the violet of humility the lily of purity the absinthe of contrition the myrrh of mortification the wood of the Cross tie them all together in a small packet with the thread of resignation, put them on to boil by the fire of divine love held in the urn of prayer, with the mystic wine of holy joy, and mineral water of temperance, securely covered with the lid of silence; let it stand thus for the morning in the serenity of meditation; take a cup of it in the morning and in the evening, and you will enjoy spiritual health. From a letter of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, to D. Pietro Spina on June 19, 1825. For us, Christ is everything. We begin each day in his presence. We are his people, from many walks of life, and from many nations and languages. We adore the Lord, address him with the psalms of our ancestors and enter the sacred Liturgy, the source and summit in our life in Christ. Through our Catechetical programs we pass on the faith both to adults and children, training in holiness which calls us to a Holy life distinguished above all in the art of prayer. Rising from prayer, we minister to the needs of those who ask our help with food and other assistance. We are the people of St. Edward Catholic Church in Newark, California. Christ is everything. If you have a wound to heal, he is the doctor; if you are in need of help, he is strength; if you fear death, he is life; if you desire Heaven, he is the way; if you are in the darkness, he is light. Blessed are they who hope in him! St. Edward Catholic Church Schedule for Holy Mass Horario de la Santa Misa 5:00 pm Saturday 5788 Thornton Ave. Ironia do Evangelho. – Pe Carlos Henrique Nascimento MINISTERIOS PARA A MISSA DOMINGO 26 DE OUTUBRO 9 CELEBRANTE: Pe Antonio Silveira HOSPITALIDADE: Maria Simas e Antonio Borba MESTRE DE CERIMONIAS: Daniel Silva MUSICA: Maria Clementina, Jose Car reiro, e João Silveira CANTICOS: Antonio Sousa, Isabel Reis, Rita Fonte, Magarida Filipe, Lucia Valdão, Nascimento Ferreira, e Lucia Martins LEITORES: 1a. leitura: Angela Pereira Salmo: Angela Pereira 2a.
