3 rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
January 24, 2016
DEAR PARISHIONERS and VISITORS:
PRAYER MEDITATION - ST. ANGELA MERICI
The Week of Prayer for
Christian Unity is celebrated
around the world between
January 18-25. It is anchored
by the date on our Church
calendar of the memorial of
the conversion of St. Paul,
January 25th. This universal
week of prayer encourages Christian of all denominations to
formally or informally meet, and pray, together, that all may
be one, as Christ desires. (John 17.21).
Archbishop Michael has assigned one of the newly
ordained permanent deacons, Mr. Alvin Rint, to Holy Rosary
Cathedral. Alvin’s wife’s name is Esperanza and they have
a daughter, Danica, in high school. Alvin works for
Covenant House as a counsellor.
On behalf of all the parishioners, volunteers, staff and
priests, I want to welcome Alvin to our faith community.
We promise support and prayers for him and his family.
Alvin’s work will be to support and assist all the parish
groups, as well as to provide some prayer and counselling at
the Catholic men’s shelter.
He will also serve as deacon at some Masses on Sunday
and other occasions. Permanent deacons also serve by
preaching, baptizing, and witnessing marriages. Please keep
him and all the deacons in the Archdiocese in your prayers.
Fr. Galvon
JANUARY 27
“Wisdom reaches from end to end mightily
and orders all things sweetly.”
(W is 8.1)
REFLECTION
Take care that what you command may never
be done through force.
For God has given free will to everyone,
and therefore He forces no one but only
indicates, calls, persuades.
PRAYER
Saint Angela, in your quiet way you
revolutionized the role of women in education.
Teach me how to use persuasion
rather than force
in my dealings with others.
Help me also to be a good example,
to avoid sin, and to become worthy
to share your crown in Heaven.
Amen.
St. Angela Merici, 1474-1540

m anifestará a continuación.
a efecto.
