SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Foundation Scholarship Information
Iowa Western Foundation Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, extra
curricular activities, community involvement and/or financial need. Applicants must be a high school
or HiSET graduate to receive an Iowa Western Foundation Scholarship.
Presidential Scholarship Information
The most prestigious scholarship awarded by the College. This scholarship will pay up to $2,000 per
semester and is a full two-year conditional award valued at $8,000.
Applicants must complete this application. Additionally applicants, must be a freshmen enrolling
directly from high school, have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 and must submit a copy of their
ACT scores.
Selections will be based on academic excellence, extracurricular achievements and leadership. The
final candidates will be required to interview with members of the Presidential Scholars Board.
Presidential Scholarship recipients must:
 Maintain a 3.5 GPA while at IWCC.
 Assist the President of Iowa Western in hosting fundraising and other College events.
 Maintain “good standing” as a student at Iowa Western at all times.

Deadline
Fall 2015 semester applications due March 15 (postmarked on or before the 15th). Applications
received after March 15th will NOT be accepted.
Spring 2016 applications will be submitted online. If you do not receive a scholarship for Fall 2015,
you will need to reapply using the online application to be considered for Spring 2016. Look for more
details on ROC regarding online applications and Spring 2016 deadlines.
If you receive a scholarship for the Fall 2015 you will NOT need to reapply.

Extracurricular Activities
On a separate sheet list school, community, or military activities in which you have participated during
the past five years. Include special honors, volunteer activities or leadership positions.
Recommendations
Two (2) recommendations must be attached to this application. (Suggested contacts: high school/
college instructor(s), counselor, activities/organization sponsor(s), coach, employer, etc.).
Recommendation must be included with the scholarship, not sent separately.

Applicants that are awarded a scholarship are required to write a thank you note before funds
appear in your student account. Additional information will be included in your acceptance
letter.
