Black & White Productions: Harry’s Bar #6 From
Russia with Love - The Orwell Hotel, Hamilton Road
Black & White Productions present an eclectic mix of
drama, humour, poetry and music in a cabaret setting.
Written and devised by Suzanne Hawkes. Back for a
sixth run - this time we invite you into the heart of Mother
Russia where Tolstoy meets James Bond and Chekhov
meets George Smiley. In the Eastern Bloc it's The
Communist Revolution, The Cold War and The Spy Who
Loved Me. The Wall is Cracking, the Hats are Furry and
the Babushkas are Revolting. And to cap it all - it's the
50th Anniversary of iconic Bond movie Goldfinger! So
top up your vodka - wrap up warm - and join our Foreign
Correspondent Anne Leslie as she tracks down Anne
Karenina, Three Sisters, a couple of Spies, plus Smiley,
Bond and Blofeld at His Lordship's Library (The Orwell
Hotel). With music from Bill Stoddart on keyboards and
vocalists Stephanie Stoddart, Paul Stone and Naomi
Doust. Tuesday to Friday at 1930, with a matinee

Room at the Top’, Felixstowe Library, Crescent Road
Long established writers' group that was formed around
40 years ago. A variety of homework assignments are
set to be read out at the following meeting, with
feedback provided. This meeting: ‘1,000 Word

FRMS Concert: Phil Jordan - United Reformed Church
Hall, Tomline Road
Regular concerts with the Felixstowe Recorded Music
Society. Programmes are mainly classical but vary
considerably and jazz, light music, film music,
folk and pop are often represented. This time: Phil

A walk along Old Felixstowe cliffs and promenade.
Distance of 2.5 miles. Meet at the Brackenbury Sports

walkers will be expected to become members of the

Sunday 15 February to Sunday 8 March
Felixstowe Fairtrade Event - various locations
Celebrate Fairtrade in Felixstowe, with a series
of events and activities.
Main 'Fairtrade Fortnight' is from Monday 23 February
to Sunday 8 March - but this year's event will also
include an extra week to cover February half term,
including a Fairtrade Fun Fiesta at Felixstowe
Library on Tuesday 17 February (1300-1600), with
games and activities.
Main ‘Fortnight’ launched by the Mayor of Felixstowe
Graham Newman at St. John’s Church on Monday
23 February at 1030. This will be followed by a Coffee
Morning with Fairtrade refreshments, including
homemade cakes.
An exhibition is being held throughout the event (from
Sunday 15 February) at the Felixstowe Library,
and on Saturday 28 February (1000-1600), members
of the Felixstowe Fairtrade Forum will be on hand to
answer questions.
Also Felixstowe Walkers: Fairtrade Walk (Monday
23 February, 1030); and Coffee and homemade cakes
at United Reformed Church (Saturday 7 March, 1030).
Admission free to most events. Fairtrade events are
being co-ordinated by the Felixstowe Fairtrade
Forum - this is a voluntary organisation set up in 2007
to promote Fairtrade in the town.

Feed the Birds and Give a Bird
a Home - Landguard Nature Reserve
Join the Landguard Nature Reserve Ranger in
celebrating National Nest Box Week. A family event.
Make a simple bird feeder out of an old plastic bottle or a
lovely pinecone fat feeder. Forty bird box kits will be
available to be built - with the help from the Ranger and
volunteers. £5.00 per box to cover materials. Play the
giant Plovers Perils and Perks game and try the Giant
Puzzle of Landguard Shingle. Follow the Garden Bird
Trail and find the answers to the quiz for a sweet reward.
Information sheets available on the importance of
feeding birds and helping some of them find a nesting
space. Please note: this event is being held at the
Landguard Bungalow, a short 10 minute easy walk from
the main car parks beside Landguard Fort. Admission

Trimley Saint Players: Little Panto’ on the
Prairie - Memorial Hall, Trimley St. Martin
Trimley Saint Players present the world premiere of a
totally new, original pantomine. Written and directed by
Rich Lock. Set in the wild, wild west, with lots of popular
songs and dance routines, cowboys, indians and corny
jokes. Fun for all the family. Proceeds from raffles,
programmes and refreshments go to support local

Monthly Beach Litter Pick - Landguard
Nature Reserve
Help keep the beach at Landguard clean and pristine. All
welcome. Just turn up. Meet at the southern end of the
Bird Observatory compound between the rifle fencing
and the Landguard Bungalow (beside the white radar
tower). Once we've finished there is tea/coffee and
biscuits back at the Observatory based within Right

Meeting - Marlborough Hotel, Sea Road
Monthly meeting of the Speakers of Felixstowe group.
Speaking in front of people, even when speaking about
a much loved place such as Felixstowe, can be nerve
wracking. At Speakers of Felixstowe a warm reception
awaits new and rusty speakers who want to improve
their skills. Experienced orators are also encouraged to
come and share their tips to help others develop this
vital employability and social skill and to enter the
Association of Speaker Clubs contests. This
