ACADEMIC WELCOME
In his speech on 15 January, the Rector
welcomed academic staff back after the holidays
and expressed his wishes for a productive
and successful year ahead. Speaking to a full
auditorium, Prof Tjivikua acknowledged the
achievements and accolades the Institution
achieved and emphasised what staff can be
proud of. He also emphasised the importance
of cultivating organisational excellence in how
we lead, interact with each other, deliver results
and serve our students, stakeholders and the
community. 2015 promises to create opportunities
for us to improve and excel, and to build a culture
that will sustain and encourage our growth.
CHANGE AGENT WELCOME
AND WORKSHOP
We held our first Change Agent gathering
for the year on 21 and 22 January. The
workshop was opened by the Rector, who
shared his perspectives on the change
process and our priorities for the year.
The Rector invited the Change Agents to
put all of their energy and commitment
into the role and assured the group of his
support in the change process.
Ms Neavera Olivier reviewed the PSP4 and the change framework for the
Institution as a foundation for our efforts.
The remainder of the workshop was
spent deepening our understanding of
the change process, individual and group
responses to change, as well as building
capability in inquiry, problem-solving and
communication.
We ended the workshop with collective
and individual commitments to taking
the change forward.
Thank you to all the participants for
your participation in this workshop, and
your commitment to the role.
