Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA)
The Department of Fine Arts at GHS has received
national and international recognition for its superior
work in the field of arts training. This award-winning
program offers comprehensive, sequential arts courses
in all phases of theater, music, visual arts, film, and television production. In addition to the curricular offerings,
a full season of theatrical productions is scheduled in
the on-campus facility, the Poplar Pike Playhouse. A
three million dollar student-managed cable television
studio, GHS-TV, is located on the school campus.
Students in Germantown’s Creative and Performing Arts
Optional Program commit to four years of study in the
same creative or performing art area (film/television,
theatre arts, vocal music, instrumental music, or visual
arts) and are also able to take advantage of
Germantown’s wide range of curricular offerings.
The principal and staff at Germantown High School
encourage parents and prospective Optional
students to visit the school. Please call the school
office to schedule a guided tour.
