You may be eligible for...
The Ontario Self-Employment Benefit
(OSEB) Program
This Employment Ontario project, program or service is funded
in part by the Government of Canada.
The OSEB Program offers an opportunity for an eligible, unemployed person
to ‘create a job for yourself’ by starting your own business.
This OSEB Program is administered in partnership with the Ministry of Training, Colleges
and Universities (MTCU) and provides Employment Insurance (EI) income as well as
Community Futures’ entrepreneurial counselling, networking & workshops
during the start-up year of your business.
Basic Eligibility
1.
(and both criteria listed MUST apply to you)
You are UNEMPLOYED;
(NOTE: do NOT quit your current employment AND do NOT begin working on or
start your business venture, as these actions may affect your eligibility for the OSEB Program)
AND 2. You have an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period ESTABLISHED;
OR Your EI benefit period ENDED WITHIN THE LAST 36 Months;
OR You are re-entering the labour force after having left it to care
for newborn or newly adopted children and your benefit period
BEGAN WITHIN THE LAST 60 Months during which you were
paid maternity or parental benefits.
