POSITION: RECEPTIONIST / SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR
BIDVEST WANDERERS STADIUM
Gauteng Cricket Board (“GCB”) administers all aspects of cricket under its auspices in central
Gauteng.
A vacancy has arisen in the Marketing & Corporate Communications Departments for the position of
receptionist.
The receptionist will report to the Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager of the Gauteng
Cricket Board.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
A. Knowledge & Experience
 Operating a telephone switchboard
 Trained and experienced in telephone etiquette
 Welcoming and directing of guests
 Usage of a computer and related software, with specific reference to basic knowledge of
Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
 Excellent public relations and service levels skills
B. Key Performance Areas
 To be the switchboard operator in answering, attending to and directing all incoming calls
 To be the Receptionist in welcoming all guests to the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium, attending
to them and direct them to the person they came to visit and/or collect from or deliver to.
 Assist with any cricket match related duties as requested by the Marketing & Corporate
Communications Manager from time to time.
 Assist in any marketing-related duties as requested by the Marketing & Corporate
Communications Manager from time to time.
 Preparation and distribution of weekly telephone extension reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education/Certification
 Grade 12 Certificate
B. Experience Required
 Experience in being a switchboard operator and/or receptionist
 Two or more years of related experience.

 Good problem-solving skills.
 Good communications skills.
 Able to use all related computer applications.

Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience for this position will be negotiated
with the successful applicant.
