Math: Please include Number Talk/Number Strings for 10-15 minutes daily to build math foundational skills, and include Inquiry Lesson (Problem of the Week) at least once a week for students to explore and apply their mathematical content standards and math practices in a collaborative setting. Room Environment/Bulletin Boards: The classroom environment should be child-centered, neat, clean, organized, and physically arranged to promote cooperative learning and inquiry. The environment should reflect the culture and learning styles of all the students. There should be clear expectations of lesson objectives and evidence of the standards being taught. Fire regulations/OEHS standards should be maintained; keep tops of cupboards, closets, inside closet floors and emergency exits clear. Keep student desks and teacher desks orderly on top and inside.
