From the Pastor’s Heart and Desk:
Del Escritorio y Corazón del Pastor:
~~~~ Today we begin our
Annual Parish Mission in
English. So sorry to announce that Fr. Sichko will
not be with us this year. His
Mom is dying and, of course,
I want him to be with her.
Instead, I was able to call
Vince
Ambrosetti
who
preached at our Mission last year. We welcome him back and he will be giving us
his Number 2 Mission Talks. Please plan
to attend the Mission Services this week.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at
7:00pm. There will be visiting Priests
available for Confessions on Monday and
Tuesday after the Services.
~~~~ Many thanks for your generous response to the ABCD Drive. So far, we have
$19,601.06 pledged. Our Parish Goal for
2017 is $80,731.00. If you have not
pledged, you may do so by filling out the
pledge envelopes in the pews. May God
Bless Your Generosity.
~~~~ I like the story of the Priest who met
two little boys. After greeting them, he
said, “Boys, would you like to go to Heaven?” “Yes, sir!” one responded immediately. “No, sir,” the other boy said honestly.
Surprised by such honesty, the Priest
asked, “Son, do you mean that eventually
you don’t want to go to heaven?” “I’d like
to go eventually,” replied the boy, but I
thought you were getting up a load to go
today.” For many people, happiness - like
heaven - is something that is going to
come eventually , but it never quite arrives. God’s kind of happiness, on the other hand, the kind that God says we can
have through our allegiance to his Son, is
a present reality. “Happy are those who
know they are spiritually poor.” “Happy
are those who mourn.” “Happy are those
who are humble.” Each one of the Beatitudes is in the present tense. Each one of
them congratulates the Christian on the
happiness he is already experiencing as a
disciple of Jesus Christ.
~~~~ Hoy empezamos nuestra
Misión Anual en Inglés. Siento
Pude llamar a
~~~~ Muchas gracias por su generosa
respuesta al ABCD .Hasta el momento hay
$19,601.06 promesas. Nuestra meta de la Parroquia es de $ 80,731.00. Muchas gracias por
su respuesta al ABCD. Si Ud. no ha hecho su
promesa, pude hacerla, llenando los formularios que están en las bancas. Que Dios bendiga
su generosidad.
~~~~ Me gusta la historia del Sacerdote quien

2017 ARCHBISHOP’S CHARITIES & DEVELOPMENT DRIVE (ABCD)
ABCD: Give and You Shall Receive
Our church is a place to pray, to give thanks, to mourn and to celebrate. A place for us all to unite in need and abundance - to have mercy, lift each other up and ease pain and suffering. A place people turn to in their time of need. We are all instruments of God’s mercy and peace. One church, one
family uniting to help those in need.
Thank you to all who have generously responded to this year’s ABCD. Your support strengthens the
ministries that serve our Archdiocese and allow the Church to form new disciples. As Scriptures remind us, Give and it shall be given to you. Your neighbor needs you. You are the answer to
someone’s prayers, and together, we are changing lives.
If you have yet to respond to this year’s ABCD, please join us by making a gift now. You can obtain
a pledge envelope from the Parish Office or you can make a gift online at www.isupportabcd.org.
Thank you for all that you do and the spirit in which you do it.
