month during the 8:30am Mass or by calling the Parish

Del Escritorio y Corazón del Pastor:
~~~~ On behalf of the Priests of
the Parish, I want to wish each of
you a most Blessed and Merry
Christmas. May the joy that the
Angels and Shepherds expressed at
the manger on that first Christmas
Day be yours always.
~~~~ He Gave Himself. Sigrid Undset,
Norway’s greatest writer, was a winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature
and a convert to Catholic Christianity.
She wrote of the Christ child, “To people of good will, the Prince of Peace,
has come as a new-born babe in a crib,
and He has chosen to come to us so
weak and naked in order that we may
each do something for Him… Mary’s
Son tells us that all we do or do not do
for one of the smallest of His little
ones, that we do or do not do for Him.
When we give each other Christmas
presents in His Name, let us remember
that He has given us the sun and the
moon and the stars, all the earth with
its forests and mountains and oceans.
He has given us all that lives and
moves upon them. He has given us all
the green things and everything that
blossoms and bears fruit - and all that
we quarrel about and all that we have
misused. And to save us from our foolishness and from all our sins, He came
down to earth and GAVE HIMSELF.”

gozo de los angeles y Pastores expresados
en el Pesebre en el primer dia de Navidad
esté siempre con ustedes.
~~~~ El se dió a si mismo, Sigrid Undset, el
escritor más grande de Noruega, fue un
ganador del Premio Nobel de Literatura y
fue uno que se convirtió al Catolicismo
Cristiano. El escribió sobre el Niño Cristo,
"A la gente de buena voluntad, el Principe
de la Paz ha venido como un bebé recién
nacido en una cuna, y El ha escogido venir
a nosotros tan debil y desnudo para que
cada uno de nosotros podamos hacer algo
por El. El Hijo de María nos dice que todo
lo que hagamos o no hagamos por el más
pequeño de sus hijos, es lo que hacemos o
lo que no hacemos por El. Cuando nos
damos regalos de Navidad en su nombre,
recordemos que El nos ha dado el sol, la
luna, las estrellas, toda la tierra con sus
bosques y montañas y oceanos. El nos ha
dado todo lo que vive y se mueve sobre
ellos. El nos ha dado todas las cosas verdes
y todo lo que florece y dá frutos y todo por
lo que reñimos y desperdiciamos. El vino a
salvarnos de nuestras necedades y todos
nuestros pecados. El bajo a la tierra y SE
DIÓ ASI MISMO."

If you attend Mass here at St.
Matthew, you are strongly
encouraged to register with
us. Please stop by the Parish
Office to fill out the simple
registration form OR
download the form from
www.saintmatthewcc.com,
print it, fill it out and place in
the offertory basket on
Sunday. We urge you to get
involved with our ministries
and, as a stewardship parish,
ask that you use your
Offertory envelopes.
All volunteers must take the VIRTUS
class. The class will be held here at St.
Matthew on the following dates:
ENGLISH - Saturday, January 14th at
noon in Parish Hall.
SPANISH - Saturday, January 21 at
noon in Parish Hall.
Everyone MUST register online for the
class at virtus.org. Thank you for all
you do for St. Matthew Parish.
