PRODUCING FRESH FRUIT FROM THE SOUTH OF CHILE FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS
History
In 1990 a group of six farmers from the remote area of Collipulli, 600 Km south
of Santiago, began an innovative project for the time. Growing fruits in the IX
region of Chile, an area dominated by forestry and livestock breeding.
Collipulli means Red Soil in the native language. This Red Soil combined with the
southern Mediterranean climate from the area allows us to deliver fruit with a
unique character.
In 1994, with only 500 m2 planted, the first commercial blueberry harvest was
achieved. This fruit was stored in our 30 m2 cold storage for its subsequent sale.
In 1999 our first packing facility was built in the town of Ercilla.
In 2009 our current packing facility opened with a capacity to pack 4 million Kg
of blueberries.
In 2011, our packing facility was expanded in order to incorporate cherries and
apples, with a capacity of 1.2 million Kg and 25,000 bins respectively. At the
same time, Huertos Collipulli began exporting its production directly, achieving
vertical integration of the entire production process.
In 2012 a new strategic plan for the company was designed, and our new image,
Collipulli Red Soil, released.
Today Collipulli Red Soil commercializes more than 5 million Kg of blueberries,
cherries and apples to the 5 continents.
