A Word From Our Pastor
“PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD”
On the Second Sunday of Advent, a time of preparation to
commemorate the First Coming of Jesus in Bethlehem; CHRISTMAS.
This is also the time to prepare for the Second Coming of the Lord,
the Church presents to us one of the key figures of the season, John
the Baptist. John’s message to his audience then and to us today is
very clear, “PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD”.
We all know very well what it takes to prepare for the arrival of
a good friend or a loved one, the arrival of a newly born baby, the arrival of a celebrity in town. It requires a lot of planning and preparation.
But John the Baptist is talking about a much deeper preparation, he is
talking about preparing our HEART for the Lord. He is inviting each
and every one of us to reform our lives, to turn away from our wrongdoing, to repent and consequently to turn to the Lord to receive His
mercy, His love, His healing and pardon.
My brothers and sisters, the Season of Advent offers us a magnificent invitation to change our lives and so be constantly preparing
the way of the Lord by living a life worthy of our Christian vocation.
Blessings!

VOCATION PRAYER CHALICE PROGRAM
On OCTOBER 4TH 2015, our parish began a new program called the
“Vocation Chalice Program”. This program encourages families to pray regularly for vocations to priesthood and consecrated life. Each week a family will receive the Vocation Chalice at Mass and take it home with a promise to “pray for
vocations” during that week. The family will place the chalice in a prominent place in their home and will gather together each day to pray, asking
God to help raise awareness for Vocations in our parish. Prayers booklets
will be given to the family with a different prayer for each day. At the end
of the week, the family will bring the chalice back to church so the next
family could take it home. We hope that through prayer, our parish may become a
source of vocations to serve the diocese and the Church. If you are interested,
please see Father Nobert or come to the sacristy after Mass to register.
FORGIVENESS
God forgives like a mother who kisses the
offense into everlasting forgiveness.
