The Love Dare
Unconditional love is eagerly promised at weddings,
but rarely practiced in real life. As a result, romantic
hopes are often replaced with disappointment in the
home. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
The Love Dare is a day by day challenge for husbands and wives to understand and practice unconditional love. Whether your marriage is hanging by a
thread or healthy and strong, The Love Dare is a
journey you need to take.
Atlanta TEC is a retreat resource

Retreat Center. For details, please contact Tammy

Second Collection: August 15 and 16
Mission to Guatemala
Our second collection next weekend will benefit our sister church,
San José in Guatemala. Many members of our sister parish have
little or no access to medical care. Please note, this is not a taxdeductible donation. Thank you for your generosity.
Guatemala Building Delegation—October 23 to 30
We could use a couple more volunteers who are willing to roll up their
sleeves and join us in building houses on our upcoming mission trip to
Guatemala. Being bilingual would be a plus, but is not required. Consider
joining us in serving and in building solidarity with our sister parish. For
more information contact Sondra Fulmer at [email protected] or
Tom Reichert at [email protected].
Remember to sign up for our parish program—the
Elijah Cup. Praying for vocations is a responsibility and privilege of
the laity. We always need more families, couples, and individuals to pray
for vocations. For more information, please contact Ed Schafer at (770)
427-2928 or [email protected].
The Biwott Family and the Burkly Family
will take the cup home this week.
The Statler Family and the George Family
will take the cup home next week.

Confirmation is a
two-year process,
and here at Saint Joseph we prepare in the 8th and
9th grades, with the ceremony being held in the Fall
of 10th grade. Please register your child soon, so you
can get on the mailing list and know when parent
meetings and classes are held. We can also help
teens who may have missed it in these grades. You
can find PSR/Edge/Life Teen Registration forms in
the Narthex or on the website. We look forward to a
great year preparing for this sacrament.
Life Teen
Please register your teens for the upcoming 2015-16
Life Teen Program. All teens are invited ! It is a common myth that Life Teen is only for those getting
Confirmed, but the fact is that older teens benefit
more from Life Teen as they begin to really ask the
hard questions in life. Sign up your older teens too
so they can get the right answers. Our kick off for
the year is on August 30.

We will resume classes on Sunday, August 30 at
10:15am in the Adult Education Room. If you are
unbaptized, baptized in another faith tradition or
baptized Catholic but never received the Sacrament
of Confirmation, these classes are for you. We explore your questions and share OUR Catholic Story
with you. There is no pressure to join, just come and
participate. Please contact Tina Harding to register
for these classes.
BOOK CLUB NEWS-Change of Book
There is much excitement brewing over Pope
Francis' trip to the USA in September. Many of us
will not be able to go to Washington, D.C. or Philadelphia to see the Pope, so we are making our
September book selection Walking With Jesus by
Pope Francis instead of the The Mystery of Faith by
Andrew Greeley. The book by Pope Francis, Walking With Jesus encourages us to make Jesus
central in our lives. Each chapter of this book helps
us put one foot in front of the other as we move ever
closer to God and to our neighbor. If you are unable
to see the Pope in September, join in reading and
discussing this book on Monday, September 14 at
7:00 PM in the School Library.
