THE PARISH OF ST. ALOYSIUS
Jersey City, NJ
PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the people of St. Aloysius Parish, are united in one faith in Jesus Christ
and His Church. We are proud to be Catholic and express this faith in the
Roman Catholic tradition. As a local church, we encourage the people
already here to welcome those newly arriving to become a unified and
loving family of Christians. We provide for the continuing educational and
formational needs of our youth and adults. In this unity of faith, we desire
to evangelize, to inspire lay leadership and to nurture a sense of ownership
of mission and ministries that incorporate our multi-ethnic traditions.

Religious Education Corner
We are off to a wonderful start in our classes. Last
week your child brought home a paper on how to pray
the rosary. Perhaps you could do a decade a night as
a family. Parents, please review the prayers on the
paper that your child brought home. They should know
these by heart. Also, please bring your children to
mass each weekend with you. . . they need that example.
During the month of November, we will be talking about the
saints. It might be a good time to tell the children about the
patron saints of your family’s names.
The parent meeting for Oct. 26th is postponed till later. I will
send a letter home with the new date. It will be a date when our
new pastor, Father Juancho can meet you as well. Thank you
for your understanding.
Thank you to all our catechists who have
played a part in preparing our Confirmation
class. One class depends upon the year before so that the children have an understanding of their faith at their age level. We need the children to come
to class each year from grades 1 through 8. Hopefully, they can
then join the youth group or a service club to continue living the
tenants of their faith.

For the priests in our Church: May they
be strong, loving, and wise ministers to
all the faithful, we pray to the Lord.

Dios

Stewardship Reflection
“Whoever sacrifices to any good, save to the Lord only,
shall be utterly destroyed.” -Exodus
Do you put other “gods” before God? Is you love of money, power,
status or some personal possession greater than your love for God?
If so, you may want to pay attention to the scripture reading because you are not going to like the outcome. The good news - it’s
not too late put God first in your life.
