THE PASTOR’S PAGE
In this Sunday’s Gospel we hear the talents while
we prepare to welcome Archbishop Blase Cupich
as our new pastor. To him, the Lord hands him
the Church of Chicago so he can guide and
protect Her in His name as an administrator.
At the same time, while we remember with
gratitude and affection Cardinal Francis George,
we celebrate with great joy the faithfulness of God
who cares for us on behalf of his bishops.
On Monday, all the priests will meet with the new
archbishop delegate and on Tuesday, is his
installation celebration at Holy Name Cathedral.
Remember him in your prayers.
As you know, every year the Archdioceses of
Chicago participates in the Annual Catholic
Appeal. Funds are collected for the needs and
projects throughout the Church in Chicago.
Thanks to your donations, we have exceeded the
target assigned by the Archdioceses by $2,562.31.
We will use these funds to cover part of the remodeling projects of the confessional area and the
entrances to the church. We trust we will cover
the expenses with the funds we will obtain next
year.

En este domingo escuchamos el evangelio de los
talentos a la vez que nos preparamos para acoger al
arzobispo Blase Cupich como nuestro nuevo pastor.
A él el Señor le entrega la Iglesia de Chicago para
que la guíe y proteja en su nombre, como un
administrador.
A la vez que recordamos con agradecimiento y
cariño al Cardenal Francis George, celebraremos con
gran alegría la fidelidad de Dios que nos cuida a
través de sus obispos. El lunes los sacerdotes nos
encontraremos con el arzobispo electo y el martes se
celebrará en la catedral del Santo Nombre de
Chicago la eucaristía de toma de posesión.
Recuérdenlo en sus oraciones
Como saben, todos los años la arquidiócesis de
Chicago celebra la campaña católica anual, que
recauda fondos para los proyectos y necesidades de
la Iglesia en Chicago. Gracias a sus donaciones,
hemos superado la meta asignada por la
arquidiócesis de $2,562.31. Destinaremos estos
fondos a cubrir parte de la remodelación de la capilla
penitencial y los accesos al templo. Confiamos
cubrir los gastos con los fondos que consigamos el
año próximo.
