St. John Neumann Catholic School
St. John Neumann Catholic School hosted the statewide conference for teachers from the Diocese of Charleston on March 5 and
6. More than 700 teachers, representing the 32 Catholic schools in the state,
attended the conference. Rev. Ronald J. Nuzzi, Ph.D., from the Diocese of
Youngstown, Ohio and Senior Director of Alliance for Catholic Education
- Renewing Identity Strengthening Evangelization (ACE-RISE) at the University of Notre Dame, was the keynote speaker. After his speech on Thursday, the teachers attended Mass celebrated by the Most Rev. Robert E.
Guglielmone, Bishop of Charleston.

WEDNESDAY, March 11
To support the SJN Mission Team.
Make sure you tell them you are
from St. John Neumann!
On Friday, the teachers chose from almost 90 presentations. The presentations covered a wide variety of topics of interest to faculty members from
the elementary and high schools. SJN Catholic School was honored to be the
host of this educational conference. The students throughout the Diocese
will be the beneficiaries of ideas gleaned by their teachers from those two
days in Columbia.
From now through April 1, the Parent School Association (PSA) is sponsoring a Box Top Contest for the students at SJN Catholic School. If you
have box tops that you would like to contribute, please bring them by the
school office, and they will be added to the PSA’s collection.
Thank you for your support!

Bring Tuna and Canned Meat to the Table
During Lent, we are reminded of the Catholic tradition
of sacrifice. The Crisis Ministry is asking each parishioner to bring three cans of tuna or canned meat to the
altar basket during Lent. This protein will be appreciated by the parish’s Hispanic Ministry as well as
God’s Storehouse. You may also put the cans in the containers in Gillin Hall.
Each year, SJN parish donates hundreds of cans. This year, the goal is 1000!
Thank you.
