“Brothers and sisters: I should like you to be free of anxieties.” – 1
Corinthians 7:32
How much anxiety do we bring upon ourselves by
constantly worrying about not having enough or attaining
more things? God won’t necessarily give you everything
you want, but He will provide everything you need. Try this
– use the word “pray” instead of the word “worry” in the
future.

In today’s second reading, St Paul talks about the fact that
married couples have to deal with the anxieties of the
world. Sometimes those stresses can really have a negative
impact on our marriages. Get away from all those worldly
anxieties and take time to just focus on God and each other
by making a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend. The
next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend is Apr. 10-12,
2015. Dates fill fast. To apply, visit our website at:

Pope Francis called on fathers to be present in the lives of
their children pointing out that the absence of a ‘father
figure’ can have grave consequences. He said that “teaching
us to call God our Father, Jesus gave new depth and richness
to this relationship, so fundamental to the life of society.”
Continueing he said that “in our modern societies, we are
experiencing a crisis of fatherhood. In the past it was
common practice to perceive the image of the father as
authoritarian and at times even repressive, today, he said,
we now sense uncertainty and confusion about the role of
the father.”

Prayer for the Year of Consecrated Life
O God, throughout the ages you have called women and
men to pursue lives of perfect charity through the
evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
During this Year of Consecrated Life, we give you thanks for
these courageous witnesses of Faith and models of
inspiration. Their pursuit of holy lives teaches us to make a
more perfect offering of ourselves to you. Continue to enrich
your Church by calling forth sons and daughters who,
having found the pearl of great price, treasure the Kingdom
of Heaven above all things. Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
