Weekly Bulletin - Regis Catholic Middle School

Royal Herald January 30, 2015 Catholic Schools Week Wrap Up As we wind down our week of fun and festivities, we want to say thank you to everyone who helped make our week a great success! ● Thank you to the parents, teachers, and students who helped with “Explore Regis” this past weekend. It was an outstanding way to welcome our incoming students and we are appreciative especially to Joe & Terrie Mlodzik, who spoke to our families about the merits of Catholic education. ● Thank you to our students and teachers for being active participants in our celebrations this week. From our “Wipe Out Challenge Olympics” on Monday to our dress up days throughout the week and our Bible Trivia today, we are grateful for our eager celebrations of our Catholic School! ● Thank you to all of our families who donated toilet paper rolls this week in our effort to support the Catholic Worker House. This was a unique request, but a very meaningful way to support the Catholic Worker House. And our Regis Community certainly provided! This week, our school community donated 3248 rolls of toilet paper which will serve the Catholic Worker House for over a full year! ● Please continue to pray for our schools and be active in encouraging school choice in Iowa. Don’t forget to follow Iowa ACE (Alliance for School Choice:
http://www.iowaace.org/
) in their legislative updates throughout this session. ● Many students have been participating in the Great Kindness Challenge this week. Since we had a schedule change on Friday and did not hold homeroom we will extend the turn in of these Kindness forms until Monday during homeroom. The Large Heart in the main hallway is filling with tags of kind acts witnessed by our teachers. Hope to see more by the end of the day on Monday! Great Job Royals! 8th Grade Retreat Information th

The theme for the 8
Grade Retreat is Acceptance and Understanding of God’s Plan for You and for Others. th
In today’s society bullying is more prevalent than ever. Through the 8
grade retreat we hope to educate our students even further on the value each of them has been given by God. The students will be participating in several large group, small group, and individual activities. Each of the activities will help the student’s to find the value within themselves and also the value of each of their peers. Students will also be working with upperclassmen from Xavier High School who will share their experiences, struggles, and successes. Please keep our students and their team leaders in your prayers throughout this week, as we work to help our students know God and His work in their lives.
