advertisement. Can I apply against the post of ET in Mechanical discipline?
Ans Only those candidates who have acquired engineering in the specified disciplines
are eligible to apply.

Will my GATE-2014 Score be valid for ET-2015?
Ans For ET-2015, GATE performance of 2015 only will be valid.

My current residential address is temporary and it is likely to be shifted soon, so which address
I should provide?
Ans Please provide a permanent address to avoid time loss in receiving official
communication/letters.

What is the mode of payment of registration amount for ET-2015?
Ans After downloading the "Pay in Slip" from the website www.ntpccareers.net
Candidates need to visit the nearest SBI Branch and have to deposit Rs.150/- in
NTPC account no. which is mentioned in the pay in slip. Once the amount is
successfully deposited, a unique journal No. will be generated and will be
mentioned in candidates' copy of pay in slip. This Journal No. is to be entered while
applying online. SC, ST, PWD and Departmental candidates are exempted from
paying the registration fee.

I’ve forgotten to take the print out of the registration slip, what should I do now?
Ans Download your registration slip by visiting the website after furnishing the details
as entered by you at the time of registration.

Do I need to send the print out of registration slip to NTPC?
Ans You need not to send the print out of registration slip generated from the system.
But it is advised to keep the printout of your registration slip for future reference.

If I finally get selected in NTPC, can I get the extension in joining time?
Ans The training program for all the Executive Trainees will begin simultaneously in
each discipline. Being a standardized program, no extension in joining period will be
given.

My final year/Semester result is not yet declared. Am I eligible to apply?
Ans You may apply by providing marks obtained upto pre final year/Semester. Your final
selection in NTPC is subject to submitting final Year/Semester Marksheet and
Provisional certificate by August, 2015. However the aggregate marks should not be
less than minimum qualifying percentage marks as advertised.

How would I be intimated about the GD and PI short listing?
Ans Results will be uploaded on the website and all the short listed candidates would be
sent Interview call letters to their addresses.

I'm a final year student and 7th semester result is still not declared, what should I fill in the last
cell since the online system is not accepting the form without filling the last cell?
Ans You can fill up the 7th semester’s marks in the 4th cell. If 7th Semester result is not
yet declared, you can wait since Website for Online registration will remain open till
3rd-Mar-15. If it is unlikely that the result would be out by 3rd-Mar-15 or your
institute has annual exam system instead of semester system, then you can fill
appearing and continue filling the form, system will take the average of first three
years only.

I have a SGPA/CGPA system in my institute, what should I fill in marks obtained year wise?
Ans Please write SGPA in the cells, system will convert the into percentage
automatically.

Briefly explain the selection process for the post of Executive Trainee in NTPC.

Ans There are 3 stages in recruitment process for the selection of Executive Trainee (ET)
in NTPC Viz GATE Examination-2015, Group Discussion and Interview. On the basis
of the performance in GATE-2015, candidates would be shortlisted for Group
Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates have to demonstrate competency in
both GD and PI separately as there is minimum cut off marks which is 40% each in
GD and PI for General category candidates and 30% for reserved categories i.e.
SC/ST/OBC/PWD. The weightages of GATE Marks, GD and Personal Interview are
85%, 5% and 10% respectively.

What do I fill in GATE -2015 Registration number?
Ans You need to enter your GATE-2015 Registration number in online application form.
This GATE-2015 registration number is written in GATE-2015 Admit card. Please DO
NOT write your GATE-2015 application number.

My institute name is not appearing in the list of Institutes, what should I fill?
Ans If you do not find the name of your institute in the drop down list, you may select
"other" in the same list, after which the box below will get enabled and then you
can write the name of your institute in that box.
