, your God,
raise up for you” (Deuteronomy 18:15-20).
Psalm — If today you hear his voice, harden not
your hearts (Psalm 95).
Second Reading — Brothers and sisters: I should
like you to be free of anxieties (1Corinthians 7:32-35).
Gospel — The people were astonished at Jesus’
teaching; he taught them as one having authority
(Mark 1:21-28).
PARISH MEMBERSHIP AND BENEFITS
To be considered an active, participating
member of the parish, and thus eligible for tuition
assistance and sacramental sponsor eligibility, Our
Lady of the Assumption takes into account a family
or individuals ministry involvement and Mass attendance.
Since OLA weekly Mass attendance envelopes are the primary way we determine if parishioners are regularly attending Mass, we ask that if
you can’t make a contribution on a given Sunday,
that you still place your envelope in the collection
basket so we can record your attendance.
Attendance at Mass is the most important thing as
Catholics and most meaningful way we model and
live our Catholic faith.
ARE YOU MOVING - Please remember to
notify the Parish Office as soon as possible!

Teresa: Prayer is an Adventure in Love
This year’s talk will be a celebration of the 500th
anniversary of the birth of Teresa of Avila, Saint and
Doctor of the Church. Teresa’s life and writings are
all about prayer, prayer that is a discovery of God’s
lavish love. To pray is to learn to love God and to
love one’s neighbor. The test of our love of God,
says Teresa, is growth in the love of those around us.
Keith Egan is Professor Emeritus at St. Mary’s College and Adjunct Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He is President of the North
